The enemy's plans against your family shall fail because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:

PRAYER TRUNCATES THE DEVIL'S PLANS

 By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Ephesians 6:18

" Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; "

The phrase "Satan seeks to sift you like wheat" originates from Luke 22:31-32, where Jesus warns Peter that Satan desires to test him and his faith: “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail.” This imagery of sifting wheat reflects Satan's attempt to shake and break believers, causing doubt, fear, and sin to overwhelm them. However, Jesus emphasizes the power of prayer, showing that His intercession can protect and strengthen believers in times of spiritual testing.

Prayer is crucial in truncating the devil’s plans. In Ephesians 6:18, Paul urges believers to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." Prayer aligns us with God’s will and fortifies our faith, making us resistant to Satan’s schemes. James 4:7 reminds us to “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Prayer empowers us to resist temptations and spiritual attacks.

The devil’s goal is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but through prayer and faith, we can access God’s protection, ensuring Satan’s attempts to sift us like wheat are thwarted.

The word  'fail ' is the Greek word. ' ekleipō ' means : cease . To come to a place of not believing in God . As a result of this prayer , Peter still believed in God despite denying Jesus Christ thrice and went on to become the first general overseer of the church of Jesus Christ.

Some Christians have turned atheists because they were faced with similar circumstances like Peter  . This underscores the importance of praying for each other that we may stand in the faith like Epaphras in  Colossians 4:12

'Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.'

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome temptation.
