Text: "Therefore, as ye abound in every thing... see that ye abound in this grace also." — 2 Corinthians 8:7 (KJV)
    The New Testament continues the principle of spiritual indebtedness. After Jesus cleansed the leper, He commanded him, "Go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded" (Matthew 8:4). The miracle did not cancel covenant responsibility; rather, God's blessing called for grateful obedience.
    The Apostle Paul appealed to the Corinthians to imitate the Macedonian churches (2 Corinthians 8:1-7). Though enduring deep poverty and severe trials, the Macedonians gave generously because they first gave themselves to the Lord. Paul therefore urged the Corinthians to "abound in this grace also." The church at Philippi likewise partnered consistently with Paul's ministry, sending support more than once for his necessities (Philippians 4:15-19). Their generosity became "an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God," and Paul declared, "My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
    Neglecting spiritual indebtedness is counterproductive to faith because faith expresses itself through obedience and grateful stewardship. Malachi 3:10 declares that honouring God opens the windows of heaven. Proverbs 3:9-10 teaches that honouring the Lord with our substance brings increase. God gives seed to the sower and multiplies what is sown (2 Corinthians 9:8-11).
    Whenever God rescues you from         distress, remember your vows. Let His blessing upon your business, profession and opportunities become a testimony of thanksgiving. The Lord delights in prospering His servants, not merely for personal comfort, but so His kingdom advances, His Gospel spreads, and His name is glorified through faithful and joyful giving.

GOD WILL PROSPER YOU TO CLEAR YOUR SPIRITUAL INDEBTEDNESS

   Text: "Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place... I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows." — Psalm 66:12-13 (KJV)
   Every believer may pass through seasons of fire and water—times of affliction, financial hardship, disappointment and persecution. Yet God's purpose is not to leave His children in lack but to bring them into "a wealthy place." The Hebrew expression is revayah (רְוָיָה), meaning abundance, saturation, overflowing satisfaction, prosperity and a place of refreshment. God's prosperity is covenantal; it equips His people to honour Him and fulfil their spiritual obligations.
   Notice that immediately after entering the wealthy place, the psalmist declared, "I will pay thee my vows." Prosperity was connected to worship, thanksgiving and covenant commitment. During distress, many believers make vows to God, promising to support His work if He grants deliverance. When God answers, those vows should be remembered and fulfilled. Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 warns that it is better not to vow than to vow and fail to pay.
    God prospered Solomon so that silver became plentiful, and kings from every nation brought him gifts year after year (1 Kings 10:22-25). Likewise, while David was in distress, God raised faithful men who strengthened and supplied him until he became a mighty king (1 Chronicles 12:22). The Lord can bless your business, your employment, your investments and your ideas. He can move people to show you goodwill and favour.
Psalm 40:14-15 reminds us that those who oppose God's purposes are put to shame, but the faithful rejoice in His salvation. Therefore, let prosperity become an opportunity to honour God rather than forget Him. The God who brings you into abundance expects grateful hearts that fulfil their covenant commitments.
   May the Lord prosper the work of your hands and make you faithful in every vow you have made to Him.

Text: 2 Corinthians 9:8
   God never overlooks those who invest in His kingdom. After commending the generosity of the Macedonian and Philippian churches, Paul assured believers that "God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work" (2 Corinthians 9:8).    Kingdom generosity never impoverishes God's people; it positions them to experience His abundant provision (Proverbs 3:9–10; Luke 6:38; Malachi 3:10).
    Conversely, neglecting our spiritual indebtedness has serious consequences. When faithful ministers are unsupported, missionary work declines, churches remain spiritually immature, and fewer people hear the saving gospel of Jesus Christ. The result is exactly what Isaiah lamented: "Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge" (Isaiah 5:13). Hosea echoed the same truth: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). A society deprived of sound biblical teaching inevitably experiences moral confusion, corruption, oppression, and spiritual bondage.
    The spread of the gospel depends upon believers who willingly partner with those whom God has called to preach. Through prayer, generous giving, and practical support, Christians become fellow workers in God's mission (3 John 5–8). Paul reminded the Corinthians that "he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully" (2 Corinthians 9:6), while the Philippians received God's promise: "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).
    Let us never forget our spiritual indebtedness. By faithfully supporting the preaching of the gospel, we help set captives free, strengthen Christ's Church, and extend God's kingdom to future generations.

SPIRITUAL INDEBTEDNESS – PART 1
-Our Duty to Support the Gospel-

Text: Romans 15:26–27
Romans 15:26–27 reveals an often-neglected principle of Christian discipleship: believers who have received spiritual blessings have a responsibility to support those who minister God's Word. Paul explained that the churches of Macedonia and Achaia gladly gave to the poor saints in Jerusalem because they recognised that they had become partakers of Israel's spiritual heritage. Therefore, they considered it a privilege to minister to them in material things.
    The Macedonian churches exemplified extraordinary generosity. Although they endured severe affliction and deep poverty, they gave joyfully and beyond their ability because they first surrendered themselves to the Lord (2 Corinthians 8:1–5). Likewise, the Philippian church repeatedly partnered with Paul in financing his missionary journeys when other churches failed to do so (Philippians 4:15–18). Their gifts were not merely financial transactions but acts of worship, described as "a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God."
    Supporting faithful gospel ministers is not an optional act of charity but an expression of gratitude for the priceless gift of salvation. Paul taught the same principle elsewhere: "Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches" (Galatians 6:6). Jesus likewise declared that "the labourer is worthy of his wages" (Luke 10:7), and "those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel" (1 Corinthians 9:13–14).
    Every believer should view generous support for God's work as a sacred privilege. Those who invest in the gospel become fellow labourers with Christ, sharing in the eternal harvest of transformed lives.

THE DEVOURER REBUKED BY GOD (Part 2)

  - Giving That Produces Spiritual Fruit-

Text: "Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase." (Proverbs 3:9)

   The New Testament shifts the believer's focus from the ceremonial requirements of the Law to cheerful, grace-filled giving. While 1 Corinthians 16:1–2 does not explicitly command tithing, it establishes the principle of setting aside the first portion regularly for God's work before other expenditures. This reflects the enduring principle of putting God first. The blessing of the new testament believer is premised on faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of cavalry and that faith demands corresponding work ( James 2: 17-24)  Faith alone without work is dead . 

   Christian giving is therefore more than charity. Almsgiving meets the needs of the poor, but dedicated giving for God's work expresses worship, gratitude, and reverential fear of the Lord. The Macedonian churches first "gave their own selves to the Lord" before giving materially (2 Corinthians 8:1–5). Their generosity flowed from hearts surrendered to Christ.

    Likewise, Paul teaches that "God loveth a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). The blessings of generous giving extend far beyond material increase. It results in thanksgiving to God, supplies the needs of His people, strengthens Christian fellowship, and glorifies Christ (2 Corinthians 9:8–14). Our giving becomes evidence that the gospel has transformed our hearts.

   Jesus Himself affirmed the principle of seeking God first: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). Every act of faithful giving declares that God is our Provider and our highest treasure.

    The greatest blessing is not merely protection from material loss but growth in faith, worship, and dependence upon God. When believers honour the Lord with the first and best of what He has entrusted to them, they cultivate a heart that fears God, trusts His promises, and experiences the joy of participating in His eternal purposes.

The Devourer Rebuked by God

Text: "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes..." (Malachi 3:11)
  The "devourer" in Malachi 3:11 is more than an ordinary financial setback. The Hebrew word translated "devourer" is הָאֹכֵל (ha'okhel), meaning "the eater," "the consumer," or "that which consumes." In Malachi's day, this referred primarily to locusts and destructive pests that devastated crops, leaving human effort powerless (Joel 1:4).
   Significantly, God's power over the devourer was demonstrated long before Israel entered the Mosaic covenant or practised tithing in the Promised Land. During the plagues of Egypt, the Lord sent devastating locusts upon Egypt (Exodus 10:12–15), yet He preserved His covenant people in Goshen. This proves that protection from the devourer is ultimately an act of God's sovereign grace over circumstances beyond human control.
   The tithe therefore was never a payment to purchase divine favour. Rather, it expressed reverence and covenant trust. Deuteronomy 14:23 declares that God's purpose was "that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always." Hebrews 4:1–2 reminds us that God's promises profit only those who respond in faith.
    The principle of putting God first predates Moses. Abel brought the "firstlings" of his flock (Genesis 4:4). The Hebrew word for 'firstling' is בְּכֹרוֹת (bekorot) it means the firstborn or choicest portion, demonstrating honour to God before personal enjoyment. Solomon echoed this principle: "Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase" (Proverbs 3:9–10).
   God still deserves first place in every area of life. When He is honoured first, we acknowledge that our security rests not in our resources but in the Lord who alone can rebuke every devourer.

YOUR SEED SHALL BE PROSPEROUS

    In Zechariah 8:12, God declares a powerful prophetic shift for His remnant: "For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase...". Through apologetics, we understand that this was not merely a poetic metaphor, but a literal, covenantal promise of physical and economic restoration for a struggling nation. 

   The Hebrew word used for 'seed' is 'zera' (זֶרַע), which signifies offspring, agricultural yield, and financial capital. God is deeply invested in the prosperity of Christians because His kingdom expands through resources. As Zechariah 1:17 reveals, His cities are built and spread abroad through prosperity. 

   Your marketplace endeavors—your businesses and jobs—are not secular distractions; they are a fundamental part of your ministry. This aligns perfectly with the New Testament. In 2 Corinthians 9:7-8, God reveals Himself as the source who provides seed to the sower and multiplies it, making all grace abound so you can possess all sufficiency. Furthermore, Galatians 6:6-8 warns us that God is not mocked; whatever a man sows, he will reap. When you invest your resources into spiritual foundations and the marketplace, you trigger a divine harvest. 

   God provides supernatural grace for supernatural fruitfulness. As Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us, it is He who gives you the power to get wealth to establish His covenant. Trust God with your 'zera' today. Your labor in the marketplace is a vital kingdom tool, and your seed is destined to prosper under His divine dew.

Text: "Let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD." — Zechariah 8:17
    A nation cannot prosper when truth is abandoned. During Zechariah's day, Judah experienced economic hardship: "there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast" (Zechariah 8:10). Businesses failed, employment vanished, and insecurity prevailed because sin had weakened the moral foundation of society. One of God's charges against His people was that they loved false oaths instead of truth.
    An oath is a solemn pledge made before God. Public officials swear an oath to uphold justice and the rule of law. When those entrusted with authority deliberately violate that oath, justice is corrupted, lawlessness spreads, and society descends into anarchy. God therefore commands, "Speak ye every man the truth... execute the judgment of truth and peace" (Zechariah 8:16). "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Proverbs 14:34).
    Scripture also warns against applauding or blessing wickedness. "The wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth" (Psalm 10:3). Those who use spiritual influence to celebrate or encourage unrepentant leaders who trample justice place themselves in dangerous territory (Zechariah 5:2-4).  God's servants are called to rebuke sin, not endorse it (Isaiah 5:20; Ezekiel 3:18-19; 2 Timothy 4:2).
    As believers, we must love truth, honour our commitments, and pray that leaders fear God and uphold their oaths. God delights in truth, justice, and peace, but He hates falsehood and every false oath. Let your words, your witness, and your prayers always stand on the side of righteousness.

ALTAR COVERED WITH TEARS INVALIDATES OFFERINGS

Text: Malachi 2:13–17; Titus 2:11–12

    The prophet Malachi exposed a tragic contradiction among God's people. They faithfully brought offerings to the altar, yet "covered the LORD's altar with tears" because God no longer accepted their sacrifices (Malachi 2:13). Why? Their worship was outwardly religious but inwardly corrupted by spiritual and emotional infidelity. The men of Judah had dealt treacherously with "the wife of your youth," violating the marriage covenant while pretending to honor God. Scripture makes it clear that broken covenant relationships can hinder worship (1 Peter 3:7; Matthew 5:23–24).

    Malachi 2:17 further rebukes a dangerous deception: "You have wearied the LORD with your words." The people claimed, "Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them." This was not God's message but the people's distorted theology. It was an attempt to redefine God's holiness by excusing sin. Sadly, the same error persists today when some modern preachers excuse adultery, immorality, and unfaithfulness among the rich, influential, or famous, claiming that grace covers every lifestyle without repentance.

    The grace of God never endorses sin. Titus 2:11–12 declares that God's saving grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age. Grace transforms; it does not provide a license for rebellion (Romans 6:1–2; Jude 4). God delights in repentance, faithfulness, and obedience—not in evil (Psalm 5:4–5; Hebrews 13:4). Let your worship be accompanied by a pure heart, faithful relationships, and a life that reflects the transforming power of God's grace.

   May your worship, your family life, and your devotion be pleasing to the Lord as you walk daily in holiness and covenant faithfulness.

RETURN UNTO ME AND I WILL RETURN UNTO YOU

Text: Malachi 3:2–7

   The call, "Return unto Me, and I will return unto you" (Malachi 3:7), reveals both God's justice and His mercy. Malachi was written to a covenant people whose outward religion continued, but whose hearts had drifted from God. They still offered sacrifices, yet tolerated spiritual compromise, corrupt worship, and disobedience. Rather than abandoning them, God graciously invited them to repent.

   From an apologetics perspective, this passage answers the accusation that the God of the Old Testament is harsh and unforgiving. On the contrary, the Lord repeatedly called His people back before judgment fell. His discipline was never arbitrary but covenantal, intended to refine rather than destroy. Malachi 3:2-3 compares God's work to a refiner's fire that removes impurities from precious metals. God's holiness demands righteousness, but His mercy provides the opportunity for restoration.

   The New Testament echoes this same invitation. James 4:8 declares, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." Jesus likewise called sinners to repentance, saying, "Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). God is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). The promise of 1 John 1:9 assures us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

   No matter how far one has wandered, God's invitation remains open today. Genuine revival begins with repentance, humility, and wholehearted obedience.    When we return to God through faith in Christ, we experience His presence, forgiveness, restoration, and transforming grace.

I WILL RESTORE HEALTH UNTO YOU

Good -Life Devotional:   I WILL RESTORE HEALTH UNTO YOU

Text: Jeremiah 30:11-17

Key Verse: "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds..." (Jeremiah 30:17)

    God's final word over His people is restoration. Israel had been mocked as an "Outcast", abandoned and forgotten. But God rejected that verdict. Human opinions never cancel divine promises.

    The Hebrew word translated "restore" is עָלָה (alah) in this context of restoration, conveying the idea of bringing up, recovering, or causing to rise again. God's restoration is comprehensive. He heals physical wounds, restores spiritual fellowship, renews hope, and rebuilds what sin and oppression have destroyed.

   This passage also provides an apologetic against the claim that faith is merely wishful thinking. Biblical hope is grounded in the character of a God who acts in history. Israel's return from exile, the coming of Christ, and Christ's resurrection are historical demonstrations that God keeps His word. The God who restored Israel is the same God who restores lives today.

   The New Testament expands this promise through Christ, who came to heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to captives (Luke 4:18), and ultimately restore all creation (Revelation 21:4-5). Satan seeks to devour (1 Peter 5:8), but Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33).  Therefore, every believer has a living hope that extends beyond present suffering.

   No matter how deep the wounds or how long the affliction has lasted, God remains the Restorer. Those who trust Him will discover that His grace is greater than every attack of the enemy.

Text: Jeremiah 30:11-17

Key Verse: "For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee..." (Jeremiah 30:11)

   The foundation of Israel's hope was not military strength but God's presence. The Lord declared, "I am with thee." This covenant assurance echoes throughout the Bible—from God's promise to Joshua (Joshua 1:9) to Christ's promise, "I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20).

    The Hebrew word for "save" is יָשַׁע (yasha), meaning to rescue, deliver, preserve, or give victory. It is the root from which the name Yeshua (Jesus) is derived. Thus, Jeremiah's promise ultimately points to the Messiah, through whom God's greatest salvation would come.

   This passage answers skeptics who argue that the God of the Old Testament is only a God of wrath. While He disciplined Judah for persistent rebellion, His purpose was restoration, not annihilation. Verse 11 says He would make "a full end" of the nations that oppressed Israel, but He would not make a full end of His covenant people. Divine discipline is evidence of covenant love (Hebrews 12:6), not cruelty.

   God's justice and mercy meet perfectly in Jesus Christ. He bore the judgment we deserved so that we might receive the salvation we could never earn.

   Whatever opposition believers face today, God's presence remains their greatest security. Our confidence rests not in circumstances but in the God who saves.

Text: Jeremiah 30:11-17
Key Verse: "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD... because they called thee an Outcast." (Jeremiah 30:17)
   The Promise, "I will devour your devourer," reveals God's covenant commitment to defend His people. Throughout Scripture, the Lord presents Himself not merely as a compassionate Father but also as a righteous Judge who confronts those who oppress His covenant people.       Jeremiah delivered this prophecy while Judah faced the devastating consequences of her own sin. Yet, even in judgment, God promised restoration because His covenant mercy would ultimately prevail.
    The Hebrew word for "devour" ('akal') means to consume, destroy, or completely overcome. God declared that those who had consumed Israel ( believers in Jesus Christ) would themselves be consumed. This is not a contradiction of God's love but an expression of His justice. Evil cannot have the final word over God's redeemed people.
   This passage is also a powerful apologetic against the claim that God is indifferent to suffering. Scripture acknowledges oppression but also reveals a God who intervenes at His appointed time. The cross of Christ demonstrates both God's justice against sin and His mercy toward sinners (Romans 3:25-26). Jesus defeated Satan, the ultimate devourer, through His death and resurrection (Hebrews 2:14).
   Believers today can rest in the assurance that no enemy, whether physical, spiritual, or ideological, can ultimately prevail against God's purposes. Those who seek to destroy God's people will answer to Him.

Text: Revelation 21:8; Titus 2:11–12; Ephesians 4:28

   Modern society often celebrates people who become wealthy through deception, internet scams, false business practices, bribery, tax fraud, or manipulation. Some even claim that because salvation is by grace, such sins no longer matter. The Scriptures say otherwise.

   Revelation 21:8 declares that "the fearful, and unbelieving... murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone." Every act of fraud depends on falsehood. Therefore, those who persist in deceit without repentance place themselves under God's judgment.

    Paul warns in 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 that thieves, extortioners, and swindlers shall not inherit the kingdom of God. This warning is not against those who have genuinely repented, but against those who practice such sins as a lifestyle.

    The grace of God is a teacher of holiness, not a covering for wickedness. Titus 2:11–12 says grace instructs believers to deny ungodliness. Likewise, Romans 6:1–2 asks, "Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid."

   God requires honesty in every area of life. Leviticus 19:11 commands, "You shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another." Proverbs 11:1 declares that dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, while Micah 6:11 condemns fraudulent weights and measures. Luke 19:8–9 shows true repentance through Zacchaeus, who restored what he had fraudulently taken.

    The gospel transforms thieves into faithful stewards. Those who truly know Christ forsake dishonest gain and pursue righteousness. Heaven is prepared for those washed, sanctified, and justified in Christ who continue to walk in obedience (1 Corinthians 6:11; Hebrews 12:14).

Father, cleanse my heart from every form of deceit. Help me to live honestly, reject false gain, and finish my race in holiness so that I may inherit Your eternal kingdom, through Jesus Christ. Good-Life Devotional: THIEVES SHALL NOT ENTER HEAVEN

Text: Zechariah 5:3–4; 1 Corinthians 6:10; Titus 2:11–12

   The grace of God is never a license to live in sin. Yet many false teachers have twisted the message of grace into permission for dishonesty, fraud, bribery, embezzlement, cybercrime, and every form of stealing. Scripture strongly rejects this deception.

    In Zechariah 5:3–4, the prophet saw a flying scroll representing God's judgment. The Lord declared, "Everyone who steals shall be cut off." The Hebrew expression translated "cut off" is נָקָה (naqah), meaning to be cleared out, purged, emptied, or removed from among the people under divine judgment. In this context, it speaks of God's righteous removal of unrepentant sinners from His covenant blessings. The curse would enter the thief's house and consume it completely.

   The New Testament confirms this truth. 1 Corinthians 6:10 plainly declares that thieves, covetous persons, extortioners, and swindlers shall not inherit the kingdom of God. God makes no exceptions for those who continue in these sins without repentance.

   Grace does not excuse sin; it empowers believers to reject it. Titus 2:11–12 teaches that the grace bringing salvation "teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and to live soberly, righteously, and godly." Any preacher who encourages believers to continue stealing while claiming eternal security is contradicting Christ Himself.

   Jesus commanded, "Let him that stole steal no more" (Ephesians 4:28). Instead, believers are to work honestly and generously. Proverbs 10:2 says, "Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death." Genuine salvation produces a transformed life marked by integrity, repentance, and obedience.

Text: 2 Kings 18:11–12; 18:30, 36; 19:6, 34–37
   Past victories do not guarantee future success when God steps into a battle. The king of Assyria had an intimidating record of conquering nations. He had defeated Samaria because Israel rebelled against the Lord (2 Kings 18:11–12), and he proudly claimed that the Lord Himself had sent him against the land. His military history was real, but it was not greater than God's sovereignty.
    When the Assyrian commander mocked King Hezekiah and discouraged the people, even attempting to undermine their faith (2 Kings 18:30), Hezekiah's officials obeyed the king's instruction and answered him not a word (2 Kings 18:36). Silence was an act of faith, refusing to be drawn into the enemy's propaganda. Instead of arguing with the enemy, Hezekiah sought the Lord.
    God's answer came through Prophet Isaiah: "Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard" (2 Kings 19:6). Fear is often born from intimidating words, but faith is born from the Word of God. The Lord declared that He would defend Jerusalem for His own name's sake (2 Kings 19:34). That very night, the Angel of the Lord struck down the Assyrian army, and Sennacherib returned home in defeat, where he later died (2 Kings 19:35–37).
    Never measure your future by the enemy's past victories. David defeated Goliath despite impossible odds (1 Samuel 17:45–47). Jehoshaphat won without fighting because the battle belonged to the Lord (2 Chronicles 20:15–17). Remember, "The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord" (Proverbs 21:31). Your victory is determined by God's presence, not by history.

Text: Isaiah 44:10-20; 1 Corinthians 8:4; 1 Samuel 5:1-7

    The victory over Dagon illustrates an enduring spiritual principle: the presence of the living God cannot coexist with the glory of false gods. When the Ark entered Dagon's temple, God Himself defended His honor. Dagon repeatedly fell before the Ark until his powerlessness became obvious (1 Samuel 5:3-4). This fulfilled the truth proclaimed throughout Scripture: "I am the LORD, and there is no other" (Isaiah 45:5).

     Today, every born-again believer is the living temple of God.We are the ark  of God on earth  ( 1John2:27, Col. 1:27)! .  Paul declares, "You are the temple of the living God" (2 Corinthians 6:16). Just as the Ark carried God's covenant presence into enemy territory, Christians carry God's presence into a world filled with spiritual darkness. Jesus promised, "He who believes in Me... out of his heart will flow rivers of living water" (John 7:38-39).

    This is why believers must reject every form of idolatry, whether physical images or modern idols such as wealth, power, pleasure, or human achievement (Colossians 3:5; 1 John 5:21). Since Christ dwells within us (Colossians 1:27), our lives should testify that the living God alone deserves worship.

  Christian apologetics therefore proclaims not merely that idols are false, but that the true God has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ, who is "the image of the invisible God" (Colossians 1:15). Unlike lifeless idols, Christ conquered death, rose again, and lives forever (Revelation 1:17-18). Therefore, our confidence rests not in objects made by human hands but in the one living God who dwells within His people through the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11).

God alone deserves worship and glory.

The believer is now God's living temple.

Christ's presence overcomes every false power.

Worship the Creator, never the creation (Romans 1:25).

AN IDOL IS NOTHING IN THE WORLD, THERE IS ONE GOD (part 1)

Text: Isaiah 44:10-20; 1 Corinthians 8:4

    Isaiah 44:10-20 presents one of Scripture's strongest apologetic arguments against idolatry. Isaiah exposes the absurdity of idol worship: a craftsman cuts down a tree, burns part of it for firewood, cooks his food with another part, and then fashions the remainder into a god before which he bows (Isaiah 44:14-17). The Bible is not denying that idols physically exist; rather, it declares they possess no divine nature, power, or life. They are the products of human hands (Psalm 115:4-8). Idol worship leads to a lack of the understanding of truth.

      Paul echoes this truth: "We know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but one" (1 Corinthians 8:4). Idols neither create, save, judge, nor answer prayer. They are powerless objects behind which demonic influences may sometimes operate (1 Corinthians 10:19-20), but the carved image itself is nothing.

    This truth was dramatically demonstrated when the Philistines placed the Ark of God before Dagon. The next morning, Dagon had fallen on his face before the Ark. After being set upright, he fell again, with his head and hands broken off (1 Samuel 5:1-5). The God of Israel publicly humiliated the false god without Israel lifting a sword.

    Believers today are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). God no longer dwells in an ark made of wood overlaid with gold but in His redeemed people (2 Corinthians 6:16; John 14:23). Wherever God's presence resides, every idol is exposed as powerless.

   There is only one true and living God (Deuteronomy 6:4).

Idols are powerless creations of men.

God's presence always triumphs over false religion.

    Christians are now God's dwelling place through the Holy Spirit. We become aware of His presence through meditation on his word , fasting and prayer in righteousness

Good-life Devotional: THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THE RIGHTEOUS

Text: Psalm 37:18–20, 37–38
     Psalm 37 lifts our eyes beyond the present into eternity. David declares that "the LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever" (Psalm 37:18). Earthly wealth cannot compare with the eternal inheritance reserved for those who belong to Christ.
    The wicked may enjoy temporary abundance, but their future is one of loss unless they repent. Psalm 37:20 says they "shall perish," while Psalm 37:38 declares that transgressors will ultimately be destroyed. God's justice may seem delayed, but it is never absent.
    By contrast, the righteous possess what money cannot buy: forgiveness, peace with God, the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the promise of eternal life. Matthew 6:19–21 urges believers to lay up treasures in heaven. Hebrews 13:5 commands us to be content, knowing that God will never leave nor forsake His people. Philippians 4:19 assures us that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
   Christian apologetics proclaims that true blessing is found in reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ, not in corrupt wealth or worldly status. Therefore, let believers reject the false gospel that glorifies riches while ignoring righteousness. A faithful life with God's favour is infinitely better than great riches without Him. In the end, the righteous inherit everlasting joy, while the glory of the wicked passes away forever.

Good -Life Devotional: DO NOT ENVY THE PROSPERITY OF THE WICKED

Text: Psalm 37:1–2, 7

    Envy is a subtle temptation. When corrupt people prosper while the righteous struggle, it is easy to question God's justice. David answers this by saying, "Fret not thyself because of evildoers... neither be thou envious" (Psalm 37:1). Their success is temporary; God's justice is certain.

    Many powerful and wealthy people appear untouchable, yet Scripture reminds us that earthly prosperity without God is fleeting. Psalm 73:18–19 reveals that God sets the wicked in slippery places, and their downfall can come suddenly. Proverbs 23:17–18 urges believers not to envy sinners but to continue in the fear of the Lord.

    Even within the church, there is a danger of celebrating greed and corruption because they produce visible wealth. The Bible never teaches that riches alone are proof of God's favour. Jesus warned in Luke 12:15, "A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth." The measure of God's blessing is a transformed heart, not merely a prosperous bank account.

     God calls His people to trust Him, wait patiently, and refuse to compromise their integrity. Though the righteous may experience hardship, the Lord sees every act of faithfulness and has prepared an eternal reward. The prosperity of the wicked fades like grass, but those who trust in the Lord will inherit His everlasting kingdom.

Good -Life Devotional: THE LITTLE THAT THE RIGHTEOUS HAS IS BETTER

Text: Psalm 37:16–17

"Better is the little that the righteous hath than the riches of many wicked." (Psalm 37:16)

   God's definition of success is vastly different from the world's. While society applauds wealth regardless of how it is acquired, God esteems righteousness above riches. A small income earned honestly with a clear conscience is far better than vast wealth obtained through greed, corruption, deception, or oppression. Wealth acquired through corruption is cursed and gives no peace Zechariah 5;1-4 .

   The tragedy today is that even some professing Christians admire the lifestyles of the ungodly and equate material prosperity with God's blessing. Yet Psalm 10:3–4 exposes the true character of the wicked: they boast of their sinful desires, bless the greedy, and have no place for God in their plans. Their prosperity is not evidence of divine approval but of God's patience before judgment.

    Scripture repeatedly warns believers not to envy evildoers. Psalm 37:1–2 commands us not to fret because of them, while Proverbs 15:16 declares, "Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith." 1 Timothy 6:6–10 teaches that godliness with contentment is great gain, but the love of money destroys many. Africa struggles with poverty, low life expectancy, insecurity because of the wrong perspective of wealth . 

    The Christian's treasure is not merely earthly possessions but fellowship with God through Jesus Christ, peace of conscience, and the hope of eternal life. The wealth of the wicked is temporary, but the inheritance of the righteous is everlasting. Therefore, choose integrity over greed, contentment over covetousness, and obedience over worldly applause. What God calls "better" is truly better, both now and for eternity.

TO IDENTIFY FLATTERY

   Flattery is not the same as genuine encouragement. Compliments focus on building others up, while flattery focuses on manipulation. 

EXCESSIVE OR GRAND PHRASING: 

   Look out for over-the-top praise that feels disproportionate to your actual actions.  The bible says "A lying tongue hates those it hurts, and a flattering mouth works ruin." (Proverbs 26:28)  

HIDDEN AGENDAS: 

   Notice if the praise is immediately followed by a request for a favor, money, or loyalty. The Bible says  "Those who flatter their neighbors are spreading nets for their feet." (Proverbs 29:5) [1, 2]

INCONSISTENCY IN BEHAVIOR: 

      Watch how the person speaks about others; if they praise you but instantly gossip about someone else, their words are unreliable. The Bible says : "For there is no faithfulness in their mouth... they flatter with their tongue." (Psalm 5:9) 

EXCLUSIVELY POSITIVE FEEDBACK: 

   Be cautious of individuals who refuse to offer constructive criticism when honest feedback is clearly needed. The Bible says  "He who rebukes a man will find more favor afterward than he who flatters with the tongue." (Proverbs 28:23) 

UNEARNED INTIMACY: 

   Be alert if someone acts like a close confidant immediately after meeting you, using smooth words to gain quick trust. The Bible says "For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of the naive." (Romans 16:18) 

HOW TO AVOID FLATTERY

   Protecting yourself from flattery requires a mix of self-awareness, biblical discernment, and active boundaries.

CHECK YOUR EGO:   

    Acknowledge your own areas of pride. Flatterers succeed because their victims secretly want to believe the exaggerated praise is true. The Bible says "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18) 

REQUIRE TRUE ACCOUNTABILITY: 

   Surround yourself with proven, long-term friends who have permission to tell you the hard truths. The Bible says "Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses." (Proverbs 27:6)

TEST THE MOTIVES: 

   Do not instantly accept words at face value; observe whether the speaker's lifestyle and motives align with truth.  "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God." (1 John 4:1) 

REDIRECT THE PRAISE: 

   Deflect exaggerated compliments by sharing the credit with your team or giving glory to God, which neutralizes the flatterer's power over your ego.  "The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but man is tested by the praise accorded him." (Proverbs 27:21) 

ADDRESS THE BEHAVIOR DIRECTLY: If the behavior continues, establish a clear boundary and refocus the conversation on objective facts.  : "Therefore, putting away lying, 'Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,' for we are members of one another." (Ephesians 4:25)

Good -Life Devotional: WHY FLATTERERS WILL NOT GO UNPUNISHED

   The Bible teaches that flatterers will face judgment because their deceit is an attack on truth and justice. Insincere praise is fundamentally a form of lying and self-worship. Because flatterers use others merely as stepping stones to feed their own greed and pride, they are actively corrupting God's standards of righteousness (Job 17:5).    Consequently, their deceit invariably results in a self-destructive downfall, as the foundation built on lies cannot stand.

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE: Absalom, David's Son

   The story of King David's son, Absalom (2 Samuel 15), perfectly illustrates the destructive nature of flattery. 

THE MANIPULATION: After a period of bitter estrangement from his father, Absalom decided to usurp the throne. Instead of relying on merit or patience, he stood at the city gates early each morning and flattered the people of Israel. 

THE EMPTY PROMISES: Absalom told every person seeking judgment that their cause was "good and right," implied that David’s government was neglecting them, and deceptively promised that he would execute perfect justice if he were made judge. He stole the hearts of the people through calculated charm, hugs, and feigned humility. 

THE TRAGIC CONSEQUENCES: This calculated political flattery and deceit caused a massive, bloody rebellion that forced King David to flee Jerusalem. However, flatterers and the foundation of deceit ultimately lead to ruin. The rebellion resulted in a devastating civil war, and Absalom was killed in battle while hanging by his hair in a tree (2 Samuel 18:9)—a tragic end that demonstrates how flattery leads to destruction.

"A flattering mouth worketh ruin." — Proverbs 26:28
    Flattery is a destructive tool of manipulation designed to stroke the ego, bypass discernment, and advance a hidden agenda. Unlike sincere encouragement, flattery is rooted in selfish ambition. It uses smooth words to gain influence, control decisions, or secure personal advantage. Scripture warns that "a flattering mouth worketh ruin" and that a flatterer spreads a net for another's feet (Proverbs 29:5).
THE DESTRUCTIVE EFFECTS OF FLATTERY
IT BLINDS AND DECEIVES. Flattery disguises selfish motives behind attractive words, causing people to believe lies instead of embracing truth. False teachers often exploit others with deceptive speech for personal gain (2 Peter 2:3).
IT BREEDS DIVISION. Flatterers isolate leaders from honest counsel and manipulate followers through emotional appeal. Such people create divisions and deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting (Romans 16:17-18).
IT REPLACES INTEGRITY WITH POLITICS. When leaders reward flattering voices instead of truthful ones, character is replaced by manipulation, and organizations, families, and churches eventually decline.
  God desires truth in our speech. Faithful correction may be painful, but it builds character, whereas flattering lips destroy lives and relationships. Every believer should pray for discernment to distinguish genuine encouragement from manipulative praise. Choose friends who tell you the truth in love rather than those who merely tell you what you want to hear.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome temptation. deliver me from deceptive words and from becoming a flatterer. Give me wisdom to value truth above praise and integrity above popularity, in Jesus' name. Amen.

  "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." — Proverbs 14:34
    God is deeply concerned about justice, righteous leadership, and the welfare of nations. Scripture teaches that when righteous leaders govern, people flourish, but when wicked rulers prevail, suffering follows (Proverbs 29:2). Elections are one means by which a nation determines its leadership, making integrity in the electoral process a matter of justice before God.
   Nigeria occupies a strategic position in Africa because of its large population, abundant natural resources, and economic influence. A peaceful, prosperous, and well-governed Nigeria can contribute to regional stability and create opportunities for constructive international partnerships. Conversely, prolonged instability can create conditions that violent extremist groups seek to exploit. Christians should therefore pray that every effort to undermine justice, promote violence, or manipulate public institutions will fail.
   The Bible commands believers to "seek the peace of the city" (Jeremiah 29:7), to "do justice" (Micah 6:8), and to pray "for kings and all who are in authority" so that people may live "peaceful and quiet lives" (1 Timothy 2:1–2). God also declares, "By justice a king gives a country stability" (Proverbs 29:4).
   Let us pray for electoral processes marked by honesty, transparency, and accountability, for leaders who fear God, and for the protection of innocent lives. May the Lord frustrate every plan that promotes bloodshed, corruption, or oppression (Job 5:12), and raise leaders who pursue justice, peace, and the common good for Nigeria, Africa, and the nations.
  In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's Word and for good governance in Nigeria.

4. THE FLOW OF TALENT WOULD REVERSE
   Millions of skilled Nigerians currently contribute to the economies of Europe and North America. Prosperity would encourage many to build businesses, institutions, and industries at home.
"And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations." (Isaiah 61:4)
5. NATIONS THAT EXPLOITED WEAKNESS WOULD NEED TO ADJUST
   Scripture repeatedly teaches that God opposes exploitation and vindicates those who have been disadvantaged.
"Woe unto him that increaseth that which is not his!" (Habakkuk 2:6)
"He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes." (Psalm 113:7-8)
  When God prospers a people, those who once benefited from their weakness must learn to relate to them as equals this is essential for global peace and an end to terrorism  for which trillions of dollars are spent on by the west .
   The greatest consequence of a prosperous Nigeria would not be the downfall of Western nations but the end of unequal relationships. Nigeria would possess greater economic independence, stronger bargaining power, and increased global influence.
"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." (Proverbs 14:34)
   If prosperity is accompanied by righteousness, integrity, and wise stewardship, Nigeria can become not only a wealthy nation but also a force for justice, stability, and blessing among the nations of the earth.
In our daily prayers we should seek for a healthy appetite for God's word and an end to bad governance in Nigeria.

WHAT WOULD A PROSPEROUS NIGERIA MEAN FOR WESTERN NATIONS   ( part 1)

   A prosperous Nigeria would fundamentally alter the balance of economic and political relationships with nations that have benefited from her weakness. Throughout Scripture and history, God often raises nations from dependency to dignity, enabling them to become lenders rather than borrowers and leaders rather than followers.

1. NIGERIA WOULD BECOME A LENDER RATHER THAN A BORROWER

   Economic prosperity would reduce dependence on foreign loans and aid. This would give Nigeria greater freedom to pursue policies that benefit her people rather than external interests.

 "For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow." (Deuteronomy 15:6)

"The borrower is servant to the lender." (Proverbs 22:7)

When nations are no longer trapped by debt, they gain the ability to negotiate from a position of strength.

2. UNFAIR ECONOMIC ARRANGEMENTS WOULD BE CHALLENGED

   Many foreign entities have profited from exporting Nigeria's raw materials while selling back finished goods at higher prices. Prosperity would enable Nigeria to develop local industries, retain more value from her resources, and negotiate fairer agreements.

"Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good." (Proverbs 20:23)

 God's standard is justice and fairness in all dealings.

3. NIGERIA WOULD BECOME A BLESSING TO OTHER NATIONS

   A strong Nigeria would not merely seek its own advancement but could become a source of stability, investment, and assistance across Africa and beyond.

"And I will bless thee... and thou shalt be a blessing." (Genesis 12:2)

God blesses nations so they may become channels of blessing to others. A  stable Nigeria will reduce the burden of expenses by the west to stabilise Africa

Good-Life Devotional:; WHEN LOYALTY TO GOD MUST COME FIRST

Text: 1 Samuel 2:12–17; 3:1–21; 1 Samuel 31:1–6; Acts 5:29
   Scripture provides sobering examples of the danger of misplaced loyalty. Young Samuel served faithfully in the house of Eli, yet he never copied the corruption of Eli's sons, Hophni and Phinehas. Though they occupied positions of spiritual authority, they abused worship and dishonoured God. Samuel remained faithful because his allegiance was to the Lord, not to corrupt leadership.
     Jonathan also teaches a painful lesson. He loved David and knew God had chosen him as Israel's future king. Yet Jonathan remained tied to his father Saul, whose persistent rebellion against God ended in tragedy. Jonathan died alongside Saul on Mount Gilboa. While Jonathan's courage is admirable, the account reminds believers that loyalty to people must never override loyalty to God's revealed will.
    The apostles summarized this principle perfectly: "We must obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29). Respect for authority is biblical, but obedience has limits. Whenever human instructions contradict God's Word, believers must choose obedience to God.
    Healthy spiritual authority always points people toward Christ, never toward unhealthy dependence on a human leader. The safest believer is one whose conscience is captive to God's Word and whose loyalty belongs first to the Lord.
  In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and passion for godly authority.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach righteousness, Father help me love You above every relationship and every leader. Give me discernment to recognize truth and courage to obey You regardless of the cost. Keep my heart faithful to Christ alone, in Jesus' name. Amen.
