"There is therefore now no condemnation to  them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not  after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law  of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me  free from the law of sin and death.  For what the  law could not do, in that it was weak through the  flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of  sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the  flesh: That the righteousness of the law might  be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but  after the Spirit. Romans8:1-4 

   The old Testament's laws of Moses was put in place to hold us accountable before God . Nobody could fulfill the 613 laws and seeking to live by the law was an acknowledgment that one did not need a Messiah and that salvation was possible through self effort . This type of thinking is indirectly saying  God cannot guarantee salvation therefore, cannot be trusted . It is not of faith in God and therefore those with this type of theology cannot  please God. 

   It was God's love and mercy that initiated the act of Catholic forgiveness through Jesus Christ's vicarious atonement . This was necessitated by man's inability to fulfill all the laws of Moses. Failure in one of the laws brought about a curse . Prophet Moses said  ‘Cursed is anyone who does not affirm and obey the terms of these instructions.’ And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’ Deuteronomy 27:26 NLT Bible.  Therefore ,  seeking to attain right standing with God through the law brings a about curse . This is known as spiritual death . It is a state of lack of sensitivity to the Spirit and deprives a person of the fruits of the Holy Ghost.

 Such a person is led by the lower human or sinful nature. It is a state of overwhelming sin consciousness. A person cannot truly serve the Lord under this situation that's why Jesus was constantly at loggerhead with the religious leaders of his time. The same applies today . 

   On the other hand , there is the law of life in Christ Jesus , it is written in the heart of a genuinely born again Christian. It is a living law and driven by the Holy Ghost. We do not try to do the will of the father by human effort under the law of life in Christ Jesus rather it is the Holy spirit " For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. " Philippians 2:13 AMP Bible

  The believer in Jesus Christ under the law of the spirit of life in Jesus Christ is a living Epistle the scriptures says " You show that you are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." 2 Corinthians 3:3 AMP Bible .  As living Epistles we read the bible to get a confirmation of the Holy Ghost has already revealed in us. This is what is meant by life and worship in the spirit .

Matt 19:20 NIV  "All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"

     There are two types of Christianity, (1) the born-again Christianity where a person’s salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and (2) religious Christianity characterized by external display of   man-made religious  standards:

religious Christianity like all religions  is devoid of the substance  and the virtues of a saved life namely righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom14:17). It cannot make a person righteous and perfect before God.  Followers lack a sense of self worth before God and always need a human mediator to access God's provision. A typical testimony of a religious Christians always says "after i did that God did this" while grace says "I am grateful that God did this all by Himself from the beginning to the end"

        Religious Christianity deprives a person of the one-of-a-kind relationship with God and is driven by fear and guilt. No good work is sufficient to exonerate a man from his sins. Like the rich ruler in Matthew 19:12-21, they lack the confidence and assurance of salvation which is only attained by the inner witnessing of the Holy Ghost; given to those who have received the gift of righteousness by faith in the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross (Romans 8:16).

          Like other religious folks , the religious Christian seeks to take credit for his or her salvation by flaunting their  inconsequential religious achievement as shown in the statement of this ruler in Matt 19:20 ‘ All these I have kept," a display of false piety shown  by his manner of approach to Jesus Christ: he addressed Jesus as “Good master” while seeking to reinforce the fact that he deserves salvation through good works.  

         Religion says Jesus is good enough to be called ‘good’ but he is not God.  Meanwhile, a man’s salvation is only guaranteed by the acceptance of Jesus Christ as trustworthy enough to be the saviour, something only God can do. No one can save a man from God’s wrath except God himself. In Matthew 19:17 Jesus was indirectly saying: “If God is the only person qualified to be called good then I am He “. Jesus is the Word of God in human flesh (1Timothy 3:16)just as water may exist as steam, ice however, its chemistry remains the same, likewise is Jesus Christ ,the Holy Ghost and God the father. It is possible for the same thing to exist in more than one state  , an example is the Amoeba algae  with a capacity to divide itself in to so many components and behaving alike . 

      The account of Abraham’s encounter with God in Genesis 14:19 completely invalidates religion's claim to salvation by carnal works. Abram was declared 'blessed' by God before his circumcision (the symbol of righteousness with God) and since a man cannot be both blessed and a sinner at the same time, it then follows that his sins were not imputed. They were forgiven. He was saved by a saviour . He acknowledged this through his tithing to Melchizedek (Gen14:18-20, Heb7:15-17) an antitype of Jesus Christ.  Apostle Paul throws more light on this in Rom 4:4-6" When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners. David also spoke of this when he described the happiness of those who are declared righteous without working for it:”(Psalm32:2)

         This rich young ruler was not looking for a Savior. He was trying to be his own saviour like most religious folks: they will rather choose to obey all the commandments of Moses instead of having a saviour. Failing in one of the 613 laws of the old testament  is failing in all (James2:10). If you cannot memorize all 613 laws is failure in itself . No one is saved by observing the laws (Galatians l2:16). 

   Righteousness is demonstrated in benevolence: Abraham demonstrated this through his tithe and religious folks are too attached to the material world that is why Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell all he had and give to the poor in a bid to show how selfish, ungodly and unloving religious folks are.

        No man could come unto the Father, but by Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6).” There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12 NIV. Trust Jesus Christ for your salvation now

 " And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him." Hebrews 11:6

 "Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14

  The word ' holy ' is the Greek word 'hagiasmos ' it means consecration, purification the effect of consecration sanctification of heart and life . 

   A person can not enter heaven without living a consecrated life . A consecrated life is likened to being a billboard where the fruits of the Holy Spirit are on display to the world . A tree's fruits is what attracts people to it likewise the believer's gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit .

   The fruits of the Spirit is what attracts people to the Holy Spirit. This is only made possible when a person is living a consecrated life. This is important in any emotional relationship ( marriages ) It is possible for a  Christian to not live a consecrated life . Under such a situation it is difficult to be sensitive to the voice and activities of the Holy Spirit. 

   Such persons are easy tools in the hands of the enemy and a reason for the destruction of families in the church . It is for this reasons that God disciplines Christians and subjects them into hardship to stir up the appetite for holy living .The bible says  "I know, O lord, that your regulations are fair; you disciplined me because I needed it." Psalms 119:75" also Psalm 119:71 'It is good  for me that I have been  afflicted; that I might  learn thy statutes."

    For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. " Hebrews 12:10. 

   The teaching on the importance of holiness in a marriage is needed for couples to experience true love in a relationship . The bible says " God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin.  Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor—  not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.  Never harm or cheat a fellow believer in this matter by violating his wife, for the Lord avenges all such sins, as we have solemnly warned you before. 

 ' God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives.   Therefore, anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human teaching but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.  But we don’t need to write to you about the importance of loving each other, for God himself has taught you to love one another." 1 Thessalonians 4:3-9

  Whenever couples jointly partake in the Holy communion administered by a mature Christian or pastor , it is an acknowledgement of the sacredness of the marriage (1 Cor7:14; 1Cor 6:19 , 1 Cor 3:17) . Such couples become very sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit are evident in their relationship  .

"That each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable”.  1Thessalonians . 4:4

  The believer's spiritual maturity is measured by the manifestation of the fruits of the Holy Ghost in there life . "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. "Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 NLT Bible . These are the constituents of a healthy marriage relationship and family . This is what it means to be a fruitful believer in Jesus Christ. The lord does not measure a person's fruitfulness based on his or her material wealth and  how many children they have (Matthew 16:26) but by souls being won into God's kingdom using the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. There are Christians with ungodly children bringing shame to the church even when the will of God is for them to become disciples . 

     Biblical terms used for sexual activities that hinders the manifestation of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Ghost in a believer include the following:

a. FORNICATION  (from the Greek word  porneia).  From where 'porn' is derived . It describes any intimate sexual activity or play outside the marriage relationship, including the touching of the intimate parts of the body or viewing the nakedness of another person ( e.g pornography)  is included in this term and is clearly a transgression of God’s moral standards for His people.1 Cor. 6:18, 1Thes. 4:3, Lev. 20:11, 12

LASCIVIOUSNESS  (From the Greek ' aselgeia') This is the total disregards of sexual reserve and restraint that maintain pure and chaste behavior (1Tim 2:9) it includes, the inclination toward indulging in or arousing sinful lust, and thus may lead one to participate in unbiblical conduct (Gal. 5:1; Eph. 4:19; 1Pet, 4:3, 2Pet. 2:2, 18)

c. DEFRAUD  (from the Greek 'pleonekteo') means to deprive another of the moral purity and chastity that God desires for that person in order to satisfy one’s own self-centered desires.  To arouse sexual desires in someone which cannot be righteously fulfilled is defrauding that person (1Thus. 4:6; Eph. 4:19).

 LUST  (From the Greek 'epithumia') is having an immoral desire, which one would fulfill if the opportunity arose. Eph. 4:19,22, 1Pet. 4:3, 2Pet. 2:18.

  True morality is maintaining righteous standard when no one but God is watching us in secret .  Sexual perversion if unchecked in a community leads to lawlessness ,foolishness and academic, business and moral failure, sicknesses  poverty and instability in society.

Prayer : Heavenly father, forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as. Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to keep my body in godliness and true holiness . Amen.

Jude:1 :[3]  "Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people."

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of."  2 Peter 2:1-2

   Before the second coming of Jesus Christ there shall be an increase in demonically  inspired teachings aimed at discrediting the Holy Bible . Satan cannot truly control humanity with the Bible being freely taught . The Bible contains Truth with the power to liberate souls . He is trying very hard to remove the Bible from circulation and he is using persons who are victims of religious abuse. Some were raped , defrauded and so they are on a revenge seeking mission . Jesus Christ was not a fan to religion , he came to introduce a father-son one -of -a -kind relationship were we can discuss with God on a personal level. 

  This is how the Truth in the scriptures is revealed . Failure to have this personal relationship will lead to being a victim of religious abuse.

 Here are some of the characteristics of false teachers that we should watch out for 

SCOFFERS AND IMMORAL : They have no regards for ministers of the gospel and angels Jude:1:8 "In the same way, these people—who claim authority from their dreams—live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at supernatural beings."

THEY ARE SELFISH AND LOVE TO PLAY THE ROLE OF MENTORS OR LEADERSHIP Jude 1;12 " shameless shepherds who care only for themselves "  

 WANDERING STARS Jude 1:13 claiming not to  belong to any faith , church or particular religion but a friend to different religions .This is targeted towards destroying families through rebellion. The early church met in people's houses as a sign of the importance of families . 

THEY ARE LOUD MOUTHED Jude 1;16 They always have something to say about everything and are very vocal physically and in writings .

GRUMBLERS AND COMPLAINERS Jude 1;16 They are very hypercritical and cynical, always looking out for faults in others while neglecting there errors . They cannot be under authority and are poor in leadership skills . They cannot keep a relationship for long .

THEY LIVE ONLY TO SATISFY THEIR DESIRES

Jude 1:16 They think less of the welfare of immediate and extended family members and that of close friends .

THEY DECEIVE PEOPLE FOR MONEY Jude 1;11 and 2 Peter [3] "In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.'

 We are enjoined to stand firm on what we have been taught in the Bible by the Holy ghost and resist these individuals through superior logic while binding the spirit behind rebellion ( the Prince of the power of the air Ephesian 2;2) The Bible says in 2 Thessalonians:2 [15]" With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.'

THEY ARE INFLUENCED BY A LYING SPIRIT AND ANOINTED TO BELIEVE LIES (Eph 2;2)

 2 Thessalonians:2 :11-12" So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.'

Exodus 4:2 -5 " And the Lord said unto  him, What is that in  thine hand? And he said,  A rod.  And he said,  Cast it on the ground.  And he cast it on the  ground, and it became a  serpent; and Moses fled  from before it.  And the  Lord said unto Moses,  Put forth thine hand,  and take it by the tail.  And he put forth his  hand, and caught it, and  it became a rod in his  hand: That they may  believe that the Lord  God of their fathers, the  God of Abraham, the  God of Isaac, and the  God of Jacob, hath  appeared unto thee." 

    The born again experience is different from other religions in that it involves the demonstration of the power of God by believers. The scriptures says believers in Jesus Christ are created for signs and wonders (Isaiah 8:18) . When I was in the Rivers state university of science and technology , Port Harcourt I went on evangelism and was accosted by a law student who emphatically claimed that the most recent translation of the bible does not contain Mark 16:15-20. Verse 18 says they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, . I told him I believed in the authenticity of the holy scriptures and that God was ready to confirm his word whenever it is challenged. 

   I said i was not interested in arguments and asked if there was a person in our midst in need of healing . A  lady who has had a growth under in her breast for six years motioned with her hands up. I prayed a simple prayer asking the Lord to confirm the authenticity of Mark 16;18 to the audience by healing the woman and before I was done praying the woman began laughing as she received her healing instantly with the growth gone. That ended the argument and God was glorified.

      Bro.  Kingdom  an officer in charge of  lifting of equipments in an offshore oil rig sent me a message on Facebook requesting divine help because a heavy  equipment worth millions of dollars  had fallen into the sea  while being lifted. I asked him if he believed the story of Elisha and the floating axe head in 2Kings 6:5-7 and asked that he got a piece of stick ( he got broom stick) and we prayed and I told him to cast it into the spot where the equipment fell . 

  By the next day morning the equipment was found attached to the rig just some few feet from the surface and was hauled in. God proved the authenticity of the holy scriptures again and he was glorified .

    In all these cases we had to put aside natural thinking and replaced it with the thinking pattern of faith in a God who is all powerful, all knowing and all present  Moses leant a had lesson with his rod turning to a snake for thinking that he knew it all . Faith deals with metaphysical realism because everything in the physical world has essence ( or spiritual blueprint) and subject to  laws beyond physical science .

  The laws of faith is transcendent to natural laws that's why Jesus Christ said Mk 9:23 'Jesus said unto him, If  thou canst believe, all  things are possible to  him that believeth.'

GET UNDERSTANDING FOR THE SUPERNATURAL (1)

Proverbs 4: 7 "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." 

   Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."

  Understanding means comprehension or ability to understand a thing . The ability to understand is based on a person's intelligent quotient (IQ) and perception  "The vast majority of people in the United States have I.Q.s between 80 and 120, with an I.Q. of 100 considered average. To be diagnosed as having mental retardation, a person must have an I.Q.below 70-75, i.e. significantly below average". ( www.hr .org usstat)  

    There is a supernatural  understanding from God and a carnal ( animal )  understanding ( referred to as " your understanding" in Proverbs 3:5) .  King David spoke of this distinction when he thought that the materially rich non believers were well off by any standard until he was corrected by the Holy spirit . The scriptures says Psalm 73:17 'Until I went into the  sanctuary of God; then  understood I their end.  " there is an understanding synonymous with persons outside a personal relationship with the Holy spirit. This is what humanism is all about and unfortunately many Christians see things as humanists that's why there is much conflict among Christians and lesser manifestations of miracles .

  The bible describes the humanistic type of understanding in psalm 73:22 "So foolish  was I,  and ignorant: I was as a  beast before thee."

An example is Namaan being told to take a deep in a filthy river to be cured of his leprosy. 2Kings 5:14 That's makes no sense. Natural sense calls this magic or witchcraft . Another is Jesus Christ spitting on mud and rubbing it on the eyes of a person born blind (.John 9:11) but when you consider that Adam was made from clay ( Gen.2;7 dust in Hebrew Aphar ) it becomes easy to understand why someone with missing eyes was given fresh ones from the materials from which the human body was made . 

   Jesus Christ said those who believe in him will do similar things like him  (John 14;12) this will require a transcendent understanding of the way God does things . The bible says in 1Cor 2: 14  "But the natural man  receiveth not the things  of the Spirit of God: for  they are foolishness  unto him: neither can he  know them, because  they are spiritually  discerned."

   In our daily prayers we should ask for the transcendent understanding of the Holy spirit as the scriptures says Colossians 1:9 "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; '.

The bible says in Philippians 1:17 " That  the God of our Lord  Jesus Christ, the Father  of glory, may give unto  you the spirit of wisdom  and revelation in the  knowledge of him:'

The word 'May' tells us there are conditions for receiving revelations and one of them is a meek and humble spirit . Do not always have a ' know - it - all' attitude .,it leads to spiritual blindness and public humiliation by God. 

(1kings 22: 1-38, Zedekiah and his Prophets were humiliated )

“My servant David will be their king, and they will have only one shepherd. They will obey my regulations and be careful to keep my decrees. " Ezekiel 37:24 

Matthew 9:27 " 27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us." 

    This scripture is not a reference to a reincarnated king David because speaks of his death and burial in 1kings 2:10 "So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David." David in Ezekiel 37:24 is referring to a character who shall come in the likeness of king David .

   Matthew Poole's Commentary on this verse of the bible says : It is the " Son of David, who was also his Lord, that is here intended. My servant: the Messiah, in his mediatory office, is God’s servant and our Saviour. He rules over their hearts, and rule there in spiritual manner and this King shall be a Shepherd, that feeds, not fleeceth, the flock; there is but one chief Shepherd, others that feed and rule the flock are so by commission from him. 

    They shall also walk as a  declaration of duty, predictive of the event, and promissory of ability and assistance to keep the holy commandments of God. Christ’s kingdom is that which by law and precept commandeth righteousness, and which by grace and power strengthens its subjects to this, and so the event is sure, and freest grace makes holiest lives. "

   Before the second coming of Christ there shall be an out pouring of the spirit of righteousness upon the earth leading to a revival in the church and the society wherever they are found .“Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. .."..Zechariah 12:10

   This scripture was confirmed in (John 19;34-37) and ever since the spirit has been stirring up a righteous zeal in the nations of the earth . 

  There has been a demand for social justice and equality the world over and the lord commands that the church press for mercy, justice  and righteousness ( Jeremiah 9:24) in all sphere of human endeavor. 

   When we commit ourselves to promoting judgment , loving kindness and righteousness , the lord promises  " I will teach all your children,  and they will enjoy great peace. " Isaiah 54:13 we shall be a very educated and technologically advanced nation , and verse 14 says " You will be secure under a government that is just and fair.     Your enemies will stay far away. You will live in peace,   and terror will not come near. Isaiah 54:14. There shall be security of lives and property under a government founded on righteousness , judgment and loving kindness. 

 In our daily prayers we should ask God for an outpouring of the Spirit of righteousness up on our nations .

"Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.  Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others. " 1 Thessalonians 4:12

  A research was carried out by a British magazine on the effect of children on marriages and it was  discovered couples tend to spend less intimate time together where there are many children  "When we had just the two little ones we got regular time alone as a couple – my mum gladly took the boys together but it’s really hard to ask anyone to have three kids for the weekend." Metro.co .uk

  This is one of the effect of a growing family.. Having a small family is not a guarantee for success in a marriage neither is having a large family. However couples have to be prepared for the liabilities that comes with being married especially having a growing family . 

  Ancient African culture was predominantly agrarian and our ancestors had large families proportionate to the size of their estates and businesses. They made preparations for provisions before bringing in a new wife. Each wife was entitled to as many farmlands as she could cultivate and were encouraged to go into other businesses too. This ensured abundance of provisions . I witnessed this in my maternal village abua in Rivers state Nigeria in the 70:s . There was mutual understanding between the wives and harmony despite the large family 

      There was respect for each other. Being less dependent on others brings respect (1Thes4:11) in a marriage.

   Modernization has resulted in many Africans migrating  to cities . For fear of infidelity a lot of men prevent their wives from being gainfully employed . Some have relegated their wives to taking care of the children and the home. This has its advantages and disadvantages. A major disadvantage is in the event of unexpected job loss , sickness , divorce or death of spouse , such women find it hard to stand on their own  . 

   Where Christian discipline is at the front burner of family affairs couples should not be afraid to contribute to the spiritual ,emotional and financial welfare of the family. The internet has made it easier for couples to work from home and make meaningful contributions to the family . With work or and business comes respect in a relationship. 

    The lack of these key ingredients is a major reason for the increase in singles in the church. Having a job and living above your means is as good as not having a job or business. Most godly persons with  legitimate  sources of income would not want to be engaged to any person living above their means to avoid the pains of infidelity and poverty .  Godliness and contentment is of great reward in a relationship. 

   A single has a greater chance at a long lasting relationship if they can prove they will not become an emotional  , spiritual and financial burden to their partner .The bible says  "In that day so few men will be left that seven women will fight for each man, saying, “Let us all marry you! We will provide our own food and clothing. Only let us take your name so we won’t be mocked as old maids.” Isaiah 4:1 We are in the days that the Bible  spoke of over 2500 years ago.

Psalm 37 :4 "Delight thyself also in  the Lord; and he shall  give thee the desires of  thine heart. " 

 Psalm 112:1 " Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments."

   King David was a man with shortcomings like us , he had a modest upbringing as a Shepherd but had a personal relationship with the Holy spirit ( the source of all wisdom and knowledge). He craved to know God on a more personal level that he said in Psalm 122: 1 "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord." It was not because the teachings he received at the temple was always pleasant but he enjoyed the transformation it made in his life . 

  Many christians seek for where they will be told pleasant stories but not sound doctrines but not King David .He said in Psalm 141:5 "Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities." Discipline from the righteous is a requirement for answered prayers .       Staying off church meetings for fear of being subjected to Christian discipline results in a marriage and family  full of arguments, bitterness and misery due to a lack of discipline.

The people in prophet Jeremiah's era as in .most churches in Africa only went to meetings that promoted love for money through greed , this is a major reason for the increase in corruption despite the church's increase ( Ezekiel 33:31 NLT version)  They teach that at a certain youthful age one is expected to have lots of property and so on, but that's not the truth (read psalm 73) Having riches does not equate to being approved of God . Many Christians suffer from poverty not because they are not intelligent or work hard enough but because of corrupt leadership. It is a sacrilege to equate God's holiness with how much money a person has ( 1 Timothy 6:5) This is the root of the corruption in African churches especially Nigeria were this is taught as a culture . 

    God is not impressed by our material wealth and social status , Three things show that we delight in him , namely LOVE, JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS . " But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the lord  who demonstrates unfailing love  and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the lord, have spoken! " Jeremiah 9:24

 In our choice of a church to attend, regular teachings on Love, justice and righteousness should be at the epicentre of the church's doctrine..

"For this people’s heart is  waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at  any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with  their ears, and should  understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." Matthew  13:15 

" Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be  ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.." 2 Timothy 2:15

     The word 'Study' in 2 Timothy 2;15 is the Greek word  spoudazō it means : use speed, that is, to make effort, be prompt or earnest: - do diligence, be diligent , endeavour, labour, study. This means we should not delay to investigate the authenticity of words because as soon as a word is spoken it either results in  death or life . 

   The bible in Matthew 13:15  says healing comes from the understanding of scriptures therefore , it is our duty to bring healing to the nations through the proper interpretation of the scriptures. 

  There are four ways employed by preachers in the understanding of scriptures 1) Historical critical technique : this involves the interpretation of the text based on the meaning of a text in a distant period considering the culture and place .This is behind usage of Jewish religious dates and celebrations of Jewish traditions in the modern church. This method does not consider the modern methods of critical analysis and neglects the objective facts of the use of grammar .For instance the old testament Sabbath is a type of the rest from faith in Jesus Christ.  Apostle Paul describes historical Jewish traditions as shadows (Colossians 2:17) ,the substance in Jesus Christ. 

2) The Proof In the Text Technique : this involves the preacher employing a naïve reading of the biblical text with total disregard of the context . The preacher seeks to select words that coincide with the topic . It is like saying medicines with similar colours have the same function. Similar sounding words do not necessarily have same meanings.

3) The reader's response techniques: this involves the preacher determining the meaning of the text mostly in an illogical and new manner each time with conflicting meanings . This results in the lost of all means of authentication of the text resulting in the loss of the authority to the text . Jesus Christ spoke with authority and his  followers are expected to do likewise 

4) The theological syntactical technique : this involves considering the grammatical analysis of the text using the syntax ( the arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences in a language.) of  phrases , clauses ,contexts and the various paragraphs that makes up a thought or idea in the text . This involves seeking to know the purpose , the scope and reason for the text and their present day relevance and application.

This is the most effective way for the analysis of the scriptures . it requires using the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries and use of grammar when the text was written and how it is applied now. 

 Trust the Holy Spirit to guide you in your research . This requires a lot of patience and good listening ability.

 "Cease not to give thanks  for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,  the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the  knowledge of him:  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may  know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in  the saints,  And what  is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who  believe, according to the working of his mighty power, " Ephesians 1;16-19

    The above scripture highlights the importance of having a proper understanding of the Bible. Apostle Paul imagined a time when he will be taken away by death from the church at Corinth and the consequence of a church being over dependent on the pastor for miracles . The consequence will be disastrous . Imagine a church where without the pastor's prayers there would be no jobs, healings , marriages , deliverance etc. It is a hopeless situation . Much of the African church struggles with desperation and hopeless as witnessed in the number of church programs for deliverance from demons by the same persons even when the bible clearly states otherwise ( Colossians 1:12-13,Luke10:19, Mark16:17) Every christian has the power to cast out demons and work miracles. The spirit of the born again Christian has the same anointing that Jesus has (Ephesians 4:24)

   This was what informed Paul's prayers for the church to be fully knowledgeable with regards to the power of God at work in the church . As you read this now the anointing of God's favour is at work in you with the intent of fulfilling God's purpose for your life . Two words are used to describe the power of God in Ephesians 1:19 they are the Greek word 'dunamis ' it means miracle power or miracle and the Greek word 'kratos' it means vigor , dominion . 

This means the born again christian has been given the same ability to work miracles and exercise the dominion Jesus Christ has over the kingdom of darkness . Imagine if the church awakens to this understanding. How glorious it shall be. Nations will be transformed for the better. 

   To understand scripture we must ask ourselves these fundamental questions 1) Of what significance is the passage and how can it be applied in our present situation  .2) Does the passage relate to other scriptures in the bible? How does it fit into the central message of faith in God which the entire scriptures revolves around . 3) The Greek and Hebrew words must be easily understood since scriptures are written in these languages 4) The historic setting of the event in scriptures must not be in dispute 5) The meaning of the passage goes beyond the bare facts of the story . For example Jesus' parables. 6) Does your chosen meaning contradict other scriptures ?

   We must accept that only the Holy Spirit knows the things of God. The bible says" No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. 

 And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. " 1 Corinthians 2:11-12 It takes submission to the Holy Spirit to understand the mysteries of God's kingdom .

" And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him—  speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction. 

 You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. '2 Peter 3:15 -17 NLT 

     The scriptures constitutes the building block of the spiritual development of the church.  It is the source of faith without which it is impossible to please God . Faith is like fuel which well appropriated results in positive use however ,the abuse of faith results in destruction  . Faith builds and faith also destroys .

  The bible says 1Timothy 1:19 "Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:"  the human conscience is the part of man that receives information from the supreme authority to either judge or vindicate us in our decision making process . It is guided by logic therefore an illogical approach to the gospel creates a sense of insecurity and instability with destructive consequences .

     The Middle East and Africa are reeling under the effect of the misconception of the Gospel.  Jesus Christ is held in high regards by Muslims and Christians and Apostle Paul who was appointed by Jesus Christ to explain the gospel to non Jews is vilified by a section of Christian and Muslim community for being Antichrist. 

    One section of the Christian and Muslim divide believes salvation is by the strict observance of the demands of the laws of Moses which demands condemnation for breaking the law ,this is behind religious extremism in the Middle East and Africa . The other section believes  in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.  

    Peter was the first general overseer of the church of Christ and he attested to the complexities of Apostle Paul's teachings and ascribed it to misinterpretation of truth of the Gospel by the unlearned . Peter was unlearned  . The scriptures says " Now when  they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and  perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant  men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of  them, that they had been with Jesus." Acts4;13

    Education is both formal and informal and the study of the Gospel requires both types of education. It requires proper gathering and  analysis of relevant data . They include relevant dictionaries and study of the use of grammar and study of logic ( application of common sense) . The absence of these tools according the apostle Peter makes understanding of the bible difficult . The destruction of the education system is the enemy's strategy to enslave  Africa and the Middle East with religious extremism and poverty.

OPERATING UNDER GOD'S SPEED

 " Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the  doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth  in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father  and the Son.  If there come any unto you, and  brunt not this doctrine, receive him not into your  house, neither bid him God speed: For he that  biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil  deeds." 2 John 1:9-11 

     There are four models for the interpretation of the bible and popular amongst  them is the Reader Response method and The Proof Text method . The Reader Response Method emphasizes that the reader determines what the text means mostly in new conflicting and illogical manner. This results in the loss of all means of authenticating the validity of the texts and the authority behind the text is lost. 

   The Proof Text Method relies on the pastor's experiences and depends on a naive reading of the text while disregarding the context  thus opening the abuse of the bible by spiritualists and magicians in the pursuit of personal gains. This is the reason why every bible school or Sunday school must of a necessity teach the logical use of the bible dictionary. 

  The bible dictionary defines 'God speed' from the Greek Aramaic word 'chairō' it means : to rejoice, be glad , to rejoice exceedingly : to be well, thrive , in salutations, hail! ,at the beginning of letters: to give one greeting, salute.  

   The phrase  'God speed ' has been misinterpreted by many preachers  to mean achievement of success faster than usual or get rich quick . This is a major reason for the increase of internet fraud and  other financial crimes in Nigeria 

   The concept of speedy success is often attributed to a special grace that can only be obtained when one gives money to a special preacher and his or her  infinitesimal ministry. This is far from the truth and contrary to the biblical virtue of patience which is highly  priced of the Lord  ( James 1:1-4 , 1 Peter 1:7) . Greed for money is satanic and hinders the manifestation of the fruits of the Holy Spirit ( Galatians 5:19-21)

   God does not have favourites therefore, there is no such thing as a special preacher with a special anointing or grace for speed . That is the language of corruption . The bible says : God has no favorites ' ( Galatians 2:6 NLT , Ephesians 6:9 NLT) and God does not give the anointing to preachers in sizes ".. God giveth not the Spirit by measure ' (John 3:34kjv  NB 'to him" is italicised it is not in the original text of scriptures)

   Poor reference is given to support this wrong theology with Elijah outrunning Ahab's Chariot . If that's the case the gold medalists in the Olympics should be the most anointed .  This is an example of reading meaning into scriptures instead of out of scriptures. Imagine a woman receiving God speed for child birth and she conceives and delivers a baby after one month of pregnancy. Imagine the disaster this will cause her 

     The scriptures in 2 John 1:9-11 means whenever you flatter or welcome into your home any Christian  who became wealthy by an evil process you shall be considered as guilty of the crime and may not enter heaven . This is the reason why preachers have lost respect in the eyes of the public  because the sacredness of the pulpit has been violated as men and women of questionable character are seen ministering shoulder to shoulder with priests who would do anything for the love of money .

DO NOT BOAST IN YOUR WEALTH

 BOASTING IN YOUR WEALTH RESULTS IN  CALAMITY

' Why boastest thou  thyself in mischief, O  mighty man? the  goodness of God  endureth continually. " Psalm 52:1

   One of the tactics of the devil against God's people is the twisting of the gospel by preachers who teach that the goodness of God towards a person is momentarily, therefore , they need special prayers where they would be required to make sacrificial offerings ( usually money ) to be given to the preachers so that God can become good to the person again . 

   This teaching is the foundation of the many financial ponzi schemes found in churches where a person is no longer required to work hard as their prosperity is guaranteed as long as they keep making contributions to an up line agent. It is the same thing among most modern churches . This makes these preachers very rich with church members becoming poorer. Africa boasts of the richest preachers with most parishioners living on less than a dollar a day as a result of bad theology. 

     Wherever individual wealth is promoted above community wealth,  the result is gross inequality, poverty and insecurity as witnessed in most African countries. 

   The bible clearly states that God's goodness towards us is continuous . He cannot be bad to us . His goodness and mercies follows the believer all the days of their lives.(Ps23:6)

   The question now is , what about when one is going through difficult times , is that part of God's goodness towards us? The human soul is formed through trials and tribulations , king David said " You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully. My suffering was good for me,  for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees." Psalms 119:4, 71 There is always a lesson to be learned from adversity for our good. 

   Whenever success is defined along the line of the accumulation of wealth outside righteousness , peace and joy in the holy spirit , it  results in the escalation of wickedness in the society, this is why many so-called successful preachers live in constant fear of being harmed as demonstrated by their inability to take a stroll without armed escorts. God's idea about success is how much righteousness, peace and joy in the holy spirit a person inspires in the  lives of others ( Romans 14;17) it is never how much money or property a person has ( 1Timothy 6:5, )  the bible says "but their fame will not last. They will die, just like animals. For when they die, they take nothing with them. Their wealth will not follow them into the grave.  People who boast of their wealth don’t understand; they will die, just like animals." Psalms 49:12,17,20 Physical riches have no eternal value ,we end up labouring for someone else to enjoy our wealth when we die, thus boasting about one's wealth is futile.

   The bible says to those pursuing riches outside his righteousness " But God will strike you down once and for all. He will pull you from your home and uproot you from the land of the living. ."  The righteous will see it and be amazed.   They will laugh and say “Look what happens to mighty warriors  who do not trust in God. They trust their wealth instead  and grow more and more bold in their wickedness.”  Psalms 52:5,6 ,7  Invest more on things with eternal value.

WEAPONS OF WARFARE PT 2

James 4:17 "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.'

Job 42: 8 "Therefore take unto you now seven  bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant  Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering;  and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him  will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly,  in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which  is right, like my servant Job. '

    Jesus Christ paid the once- in -a- life time price by offering himself as a vicarious atonement for humanity . No more sacrifice is needed for salvation from  sins. The bible says 12 But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. The right hand is symbolic of God's standard and power of  righteousness . Jesus is our righteousness .

Hebrews 10:12_14_26' For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy. ..Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins."

  HOW THE MIND WORKS : The mind serves as an interface between the human transient principle (spirit) and the animal part of man (the body) . 

   The spirit sometimes sends irrational information to the mind especially when it concerns faith . This is so because , all that is known by reason is also known by faith but not all that is known by faith is known by reason .Reason is a subclass of faith . For instance in a faith based marriage 1+1=1 . This is only reasoned with faith based data.

  It is against this backdrop that the  mind must be appeased with logical reasoning before faith can be effective .

    Offerings, such as the holy communion are aimed at appealing to the mind (human intelligence ) so the body can receive the blessings in the spirit . 

   That's why God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his beloved son Isaac and to give an offering to the priest Melchizedek (Genesis 14;18-20) .  In Genesis 15:1-13 Abraham was involved in a mystical ritual : a warfare to overcome doubt .It is a personal battle that must be conquered to see God's glory in our  lives.  Satan uses doubt as a weapon to stop our breakthroughs from coming to pass. Belief is the password to breakthrough. Offerings helps our belief because it gives the senses something to ponder on . This is called meditation (Joshua 1:8) Your offerings says" I BELIEVE GOD!!' 

     The birth of Sampson required his parents overcoming doubts through offerings as a weapon of warfare ( Judges 13: 1-16). Likewise ,in the new testament the woman in (Luke 7;37-50) was able to silence the attack of doubts from trying to remind her of past failures. Her offerings spoke for her against the opposition. Your offerings are speaking good of you right now .

  The Macedonian church pursued after righteousness through their offerings and demolished doubts and poverty mentality through their offerings (2 Corinthians 8:1-5) Today Macedonian is a major tourist destination with a culture built on benevolence and faith in God . This is proof of children benefiting from the offerings of their ancestors . 

  Your offerings will speak for you . The bible says " 1 In times of trouble, may the lord answer your cry.     May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. 

Psalms 20:1-4 "May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem.  May he remember all your gifts     and look favorably on your burnt offerings.

May he grant your heart’s desires  and make all your plans succeed. " Amen.

     The above scripture says we are in a spiritual warfare for the control of our minds by the enemy of our souls . He who controls your mind controls the world around you and invariably your life and that of those affiliated and or dependent on you. 

      Mind  Control is the greatest weapon the enemy uses against God's people . Terrorist organizations know this too well and use the greatest tool known to man ; religion , as the means to make  irrational ideologies appear rational and a strong culture is built that guarantees  continuity of terrorist ideologies from generation to generation. To overcome terrorism  one must first apply  a superior ideology to subdue theirs and change their culture . The strongest force in humanity is love. Everybody yearns to be loved. 

    It will take an ideology premised on love to overcome the plans of the evil one . "Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians13:13 

  Love is demonstrated through giving what is most valuable to us. Faith works by love ( Galatians 5:6) Every act of faith always demands an act of obeisance : an expression of love demonstrated by making oneself useful to those we love. God demonstrated his love and faith in the salvation of humanity by giving Jesus Christ. Christ offering himself on the cross for our sins is God's greatest weapon of warfare against the kingdom of darkness  . No religious leader gave himself up for the salvation of his followers , instead the reverse is the case , with followers dying for their religious leaders . 

   The enemy wants us to look at our failing circumstances instead of trusting in God's word  . Spiritual warfare  takes place in our minds and it entails refusing to be guided and influenced by the negative things we see with our physical eyes ( 2Corinthians 10:7; 2Corinthians 4:16-18) .Battles are first won or lost in the mind before the physical manifestation.

  In the old testament , God demanded burnt offerings and the smoke : often white in colour ( symbolic of righteousness and love)  obscured physical appearances  as seen in 2Chronicles 5:6-14.  The priest could not minister because of the glory of the lord in the temple and the smoke from the offerings. 

   Offerings are in two forms 1) alms given to the less  privileged (Acts 10:31) and  2) Financial or material support to inspired teachers or preachers of the gospel and service in missionary work ( Philippians 4:17-19) . 

   The scriptures says".... give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. " Romans 12:1

Josh 14:11 KJV “As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.”

        Caleb was promised a parcel of land as a forty-five year old soldier and it took forty years for this to materialize .At the old age of eighty five years, he was willing and ready to engage the enemy in a battle to claim the promised land. What optimism! How long have you been waiting for the fulfillment of a promise in your life ? Caleb waited for forty years. In faith , Its never too late with God.

        Following Jesus Christ requires walking by faith and this requires being optimistic. An optimist is a person with a positive outlook on life. He or she always looks out for the good in a situation no matter how bad it may seem;the opposite is a pessimist. Optimism is a mental attitude or perspective . A common idiom used to illustrate optimism against pessimism is a glass with water at the halfway point, where the optimist is said to see the glass as half full and the pessimist sees the glass as half empty.

   Life does not always come with guarantees, good things happens to bad people and bad things happens to the good. Eccl 9:11-12 TLB says “the swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men are not necessarily famous; but it is all by chance, by happening to be at the right place at the right time. “ The fact that you failed in a marriage , business , academic or other endevour does not mean you are a bad person and therefore , blame- worthy .Sometimes great footballers  fail to score in a penalty shot. Great business models have been known to fail. Education, beauty and skill cannot guarantee success , that is why the just shall live by faith.  

     The scriptures speaks of the unpredictability of life in  James 4:13-16 NIV “Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."  As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil”  Our best plans may sometimes fall apart because disappointments are part of life. Some of the greatest scientific discoveries such as space technology were achieved after many disappointing expeditions but they were eventually accomplished through optimism    

       Therefore, optimists are never surprised or set back when things go wrong, they are persistent and quick to pick up the pieces and continue .They never feel sorry for themselves and take full responsibility for every situation in their chosen path. They never blame others for their shortcoming or make excuses. Optimists look for the reasons why they could not fulfill their responsibilities and improve on them. They always seek for the good in every situation that’s why they are always in control of their emotions.    Caleb had learnt a valuable lesson for 40 years: the importance of being at the right place at the right time with the right people and doing the thing: he was very sure that he will surmount the opposition and he did. Optimists are driven by the conviction that “…he is faithful that promised (Hebrew.10:23)”

OVERCOME SUICIDAL TENDENCIES

Acts 1:17-18 KJV“For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.”

      This is the account of Judas Iscariot: one of the leaders of the early church. He was close to Jesus and assumed to be trustworthy given that he was in charge of the treasury (John13:29).Judas had built his security around money and social status therefore, whenever his finances were threatened his love for God , missionary work and will to live diminished. There are many of such persons in the church who have put the pursuit of money above love and fellowship with God's people. King David prayed against this " Give me an eagerness for your laws  rather than a love for money! Psalms 119:36 we need this prayer daily for our families.

      These persons like Judas are often cynical and hypercritical of divinely constituted authority (Matthew 26:6-8) This is the breeding ground for suicidal tendencies and when he eventually came to his senses the damage had already been done. He was left with no true friends and was filled with despondency. True friends never encourage us to live outside God’s will especially fellowship with God's people.  With no sense of security and overwhelming sense of hopelessness, Judas proceeded to take his life. 

       Ignorance of God's will for our lives contained in his word leads to deep despair .This is the first step towards committing suicide.  The word of God gives hope to the hopeless. Judas was preoccupied with money other than the ministry of the word. Acts 1:17-18 says Judas obtained part  of the ministry of Christ, he was partly committed thus the word of God did not have deep roots in him. The first thing Satan does before destroying a Christian is to convince him or her to keep away from reading of God’s word. He uses our unhealthy cravings for money, sex and lust for social influence resulting in a heightened sense of anxiety and renders the word of God in our hearts unfruitful. The scriptures in Revelations.3:17 describes such persons as being wretched, pitiable, poor in spirit, naked and spiritually blind. This leads to the second stage of being suicidal: isolation- a deep sense of loneliness and feeling being left- out. They become very moody and detached from others. It is at such times that Satan starts selling the idea of taking one’s life. I have been there before, therefore, whenever we notice this trend in a friend or family member, we should be quick to share God’s word of hope with them with prayers. Regular visits, phone calls, messages really helps at such times. Tell them how much they're loved and they should be taught on how to trust God for provisions (Philippians .4:19)and nobody can truly say what  God's judgment is for committing suicide: asking for forgiveness before committing a sin is far more risky than after. Suicide does not give one the opportunity for amendment after death considering that after death comes the judgment (1Cor.3:16,17,19,Heb.9:27)suicide is a lack of faith in God's saving grace. 

        We are enjoined to let the word dwell richly in our hearts, think less about ourselves ,regularly sing scripturally based songs ,psalms and hymns, this helps in lifting the human spirit. Phil 4:4-7 TLB says “Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again, rejoice! Let everyone see that you are unselfish and considerate . .. Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace., which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand…”

     Engage in outdoor physical exercises , appreciate nature ( the sun, stars , birds ,flowers , pets etc ) and take little steps towards self improvement visit godly friends .  Seek medical attention if necessary and help from a spiritually mature Christian. Join a group of progressive minds . Finally , stay

away from carriers of bad news and from pessimistic friends or family members especially on social media at all cost. This keeps your faith alive. Phillipians  4:8-9 TLB says "Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about. .. and the God of peace will be with you. “ happy words and thoughts leads to a happy  and prosperous life.

' Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; "Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.'  Isaiah 6:5-7

  The universe is a courtroom with the Almighty God as judge . God's people are described as magistrates ,  Psalm 82:6 says ..' ye are gods.." The word gods is the Hebrew word  el-o-heem' it means magistrates , great judges . That is why we can pass decrees , bind and loose ( Matthew 18:18, Job 22:28) Every statement including sighs are recorded for or against us in the universal court of law. Prayer gives God the legal grounds to act on out behalf .

   Jesus Christ said " Matthew 12:37 "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. " 

 When you pray you need to give a justifiable reason why God should answer the prayer . The only reason should be that his will be done .  The Bible says God does things according to the counsel of his will. If He has purposed it and shall bring it to pass.

    Whenever our confessions line up with his word , the power of God is activated to work in our favour bringing healing and deliverances .

  The holiness of God gives no room for the slightest error in prayers .Every time we speak a word that is contrary to God's will concerning what we are praying for, it cancels the prayer previously made concerning the prayer point. That was what happened to Isaiah 6:5 when he said " .. I am undone ..."  The word 'undone' cancelled his  prayers . The word 'undone ' is the Hebrew word dâmâh it means to be dumb or silent; hence to fail or perish; transitively to destroy: - {cease} be cut down ({off}) . Imagine praying for breakthroughs and at the same time saying I'm finished , destroyed  , I'll be dammed , I'm cut off, I don fuck up  etc slangs often used in the world . As casual as they sound , they resonate within the court room of the most high God and cancel prayers .

    It is for this reason that the apostle Paul said in Colossians 4:6 "Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.'

  The angels had to quickly put coals of fire in his mouth to change his confession or else he would have been destroyed. 

  Pray and watch what you are saying if it lines up with the word of God , anytime we err, remember we have the blood as the eraser to wrong confessions ( Col. 2:14) and 1 John 1:7,9 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

[9]If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Matt 6:32 AMP ”For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.”

      Prayer is the communication between God and His children ;it involves exchange of information : therefore after speaking to the heavenly Father; we should wait for a reply . The answer could be through an inner voice by the Holy Ghost, through an anointed servant of God, ministry of angels or through the written word of God. God always replies prayers and if we could develop the habit of waiting to hear Him speak to us, we would be less anxious and make fewer errors in our decision making. At such times Satan always reminds us of our weaknesses, this to weaken our faith and eventually make us give up.

          God does not need you asking for air to breath before giving it , He knows you need clean breathable air as a matter of necessity. He already knows what we need. The scriptures say God has given us all that we need, 2 Peter 1:3-4NLT”By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.” What this means literally is that just like the air we breathe, God has made provision for our jobs, marriages, healing, finances, academics, ministry etc. and we receive them through an intimate knowledge of Jesus’ voice. Therefore, instead of being anxious over a matter, we should rather give thanks ;acknowledging the provision that has been made while asking for wisdom on how to access what has been made available. Seek for wisdom on how to have a peaceful home and it shall be given to you.

            We are asked to earnestly seek wisdom(James1:3) through more mature believers,reading books,training, fasting and prayer without anxiety. Fear borne out of anxiety is a smokescreen that makes it hard to see what God has provided. Meditating on and declaring God's word over our lives eliminates fear. God is more interested in you receiving your blessings than you are . Unnecessary delays are usually caused by the misinterpretation of scriptures . 

  There is a misconception of the scripture in Luke 18:1-7,8… "And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?.. " . Erroneously , God is likened to an unjust judge who needs to be arm-twisted or bribed with an offering  before He can answer a prayer .Many persons have gotten hurt as a result of this while carrying out so-called ‘spiritual assignments’ needed for answers to their prayers. The parable in Luke18:1-8 is a comparative analysis of God's willingness to answer our prayers with this unjust judge's unwillingness. This widow had more confidence in man solving her problem than in God, this should not be, He wants us to trust Him more than we trust any human being for our needs despite the devil’s delays (Daniel10:12-14) He will surely meet those needs. Trust Him.

Exodus 14:13-14 NIV “Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." 

    Moses was faced with a situation in his leadership  were all human formula failed him:  he was being chased by Pharaoh and the Egyptian army and the only way forward was through the sea. Death was certain whichever way , except there was divine intervention. Sometimes we find ourselves where our best plans fail not because we did not make the necessary calculations but due to circumstances beyond our control, this results in discouragement and depression with suicidal tendencies. 

   Many persons are simply going through the motions of life, they’ve actually lost the will to live. Some of the factors that results in discouragement includes;

   THE HARDNESS OF THE WAY (Numbers 21:4 ): God’s way to ultimate success and breakthroughs is usually the slowest but the surest. He waits for your peers to achieve what they consider as best, then He gives you something that would make you the envy of all (Ephesians 3:20, Psalm45:7) He will give the double for your shame. Another source of discouragement is

  THE DIFFICULTY OF THE TASK BEFORE US ( Nehemiah 4:10) the Jews were frustrated by the amount of waste material that had to be excavated in other to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem , likewise , we may be required to first clear out some junk in our life’s before starting a major project and this can be overwhelming , this may require , ending an inappropriate emotional relationship that comes with financial gains , acquiring a school degree to qualify for a job, changing a mainly consumer nation to a manufacturing nation,  etc 

DELAY IN THE FULFILMENT OF DESIRES , is a major source of discouragement to many, you may be waiting for a government agency to issue you a document or finance your project , a process meant to take a week may take a year or more , this has led to many persons abandoning dreams , delayed dreams is a major cause of terminal diseases and death in third world countries were corruption is rife resulting in delayed desires . Prov 13:12 TLB says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but when dreams come true at last, there is life and joy”. Delayed marriage is another source of discouragement, this is also caused by corruption and poverty . Despite the perceived challenges, God will send helpers to you ( Isaiah 41:13) says ‘I WILL HELP YOU’ Jesus does not want you to be afraid , He said ‘be not afraid ‘ (Matthew.14:27 ,17:7,Acts 23:11, Acts 27:22) .He has promised to bless the journey of your life (Genesis 26:24) Grant you overshadowing care (Matthew10:31) 

He will always be your companion in trying times when everyone has abandoned you ( (Isaiah 43:1-3) . He will give you strength in the time of weakness ( Isaiah 41:10) therefore , your case is not hopeless . His angels have been assigned to watch over you in the time of disaster and war ( 2Kings 6:16) and would guarantee your needs are met in the time of national economic difficulties (1Kings 17:13) He has great plans for you . Put your trust in Him.

Eccl 11:3 AMP bible” If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie.” 

    Superstitious is defined as: a belief or practice resulting from ignorance, fear of the unknown, trust in magic or chance, or a false conception of causation : it is an irrational abject attitude of mind toward the supernatural, nature, it can also be described as a notion maintained despite evidence to the contrary” (Merriam Webstar Dictionary ) Superstitious beliefs are the greatest hindrance to the development of underdeveloped countries . They militate against scientific discoveries and productive work ethics. They stifle creativity and promote mediocrity.

     Science is a gift from God to help us appreciate and harness the potentials of the universe. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit described as the ‘word of knowledge’ (1Cor 12:8). The word ‘knowledge’ as used in 1 Corinthians 12:8 is the Greek word ‘gnosis’ which means scientific knowledge. This means Christians are supposed to be at the forefront of scientific discoveries. Most physical problems for which endless ‘deliverances’ are made can be easily solved scientifically. Through science we now know ‘ogbanje’ is sickle cell anemia and can better be managed with proper medications and a lifestyle change . Unfortunately, many religious leaders promote superstitious theology above sound doctrine and their followers have become superstitious in all things (Acts17:23). This kind of teaching deprives followers from having a loving one-of-a-kind personal relationship with Jesus Christ .They are grossly suspicious of every friendly gesture . These preachers assume the position of go- between like the ancient African voodoo priests who claimed to be God’s spokespersons. 

    God wants to be known by all without intermediaries because of the insincerity in man (John14:6,21,23). The most popular of these superstitious theologies is that of the ‘planting of charms’ in locations only known by the juju priest or ‘prophet’ who against Jesus' instructions (Isaiah45:13,Matt10:8) often request to be paid before you can be 'delivered' . They claim 'juju' or charms' can hinder a person’s progress .This is contrary to the scriptures which says idols (jujus or charms) are worthless (Habakkuk .2:18-19,1Corinthians .10:19) The born again Christian is immune to demonic oppression (2Timothy.1:7,Hebrew.2:14-15,Luke10:19). Demons are terrified by Born again Christians . The activities of these superstitious preachers leads to widespread hatred ,irresponsibility and corruption in a society (Isaiah1:23-25). According to Eccl.11:3, an inanimate object such as that made of wood cannot hinder the blessings of a child of God. It is what it is, like a fallen tree: DEAD. Job 5:6 puts it so directly” Job 5:6 “Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;” This means the failure of marriages , businesses, relationships, finances etc. can’t be attributed to a charm buried somewhere beneath the soil or a voodoo priest's invocations Human misery is as a result of selfishness (Galatians 6:7-9) therefore, we should make conscious effort to be hospitable, just, fair and show benevolence on a daily basis. Most problems are caused by the lack of the Christlike character. We should seek for mentors who will teach us the principles of Bible-based success and not reject the discipline that comes with it.
