   “Do you think it is right for you to claim, ‘I am righteous before God’? For you also ask, ‘What’s in it for me? What’s the use of living a righteous life?’ Job 35:2‭-‬3 NLT "Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them." “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? Job 38:3-5 NLT Bible

       Faith is our total dependence, reliance or loyalty towards God . It is the title deed that a desired outcome will come to pass with God's help . Faith in a person is determined by the information one has about that person. Job's faith was threatened ; he could not understand that despite the fact that he was declared righteous by God in Job Chapter 1 , he suffered a major misfortune and suffered a protracted ill health.

   One of the ironies of life is that good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people; it is the inability to understand this that has led to many given up on their christian faith and walk with God. In the first and second chapter of the book of Job, prophet Job is described as a perfect man favoured by God but unfortunately he suffered the loss of his businesses and children all in a single day. Job did not understand that God's definition of perfection based on God's grace was different from man's definition of righteousness . God was speaking the language of faith which has to do with calling things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17) while Job viewed righteousness from the perspective of human effort . Job's best efforts at being righteous was not enough “Tell me, has there ever been a man like Job, with his thirst for irreverent talk? He chooses evil people as companions. He spends his time with wicked men. He has even said, ‘Why waste time trying to please God?’ Job 34:7‭-‬9 NLT Bible. ‘Job speaks out of ignorance; his words lack insight.’ For you have added rebellion to your sin; you show no respect, and you speak many angry words against God.” Job 34:35‭, ‬37 NLT .

    Job's misfortunes were as a result of his abuse of the grace of God . He was living in denial .He was also ignorant of the fact that it was not God that destroyed his family and businesses but Satan. We should not be ignorant of the devices of the evil one. God's Word also known as Truth is objective by nature while  human logic  is subjective : this is the reason behind the conflict in the world's religions , it is for this reason that God began to teach Job a fundamental principle of faith in Job Chapter 35 and 38 : ask questions about everything. Faith gives no room for grey areas. Jesus Christ encouraged his disciples to ask questions.      

     Ask your religious teachers questions on doctrinal issues and logic , sound teachings should make common sense , our faith in God depends on it . Questions results in answers , understanding and stability in faith for the extraordinary life in Christ

1 Timothy 6:3-6  If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

 "He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings , Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain."

  The word 'gain' is the Greek word :porismos' it means 'money getting ' acquisition. This should not be the reason to start a Christian ministry . killing , stealing and destruction follows such ministries because of greed. 

    Believers in Jesus Christ are mandated and anointed to preach the gospel with signs and wonders following . The bible says in Mark 16:15-17 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; "  This scripture is proof that signs and wonders accompany all believers who preach .We are equally called and anointed to preach the gospel. 

   All believers in Jesus Christ are expected to train people into becoming disciples :. representatives of Jesus on earth with the same anointing that was upon Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Matthew 28:18-20 'And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Jesus Christ dwells in the born again believer and has given us the same quality and quantity of power that he operated on while on earth .That power is in his name (Phil2;10)

 We are to preach , deliver the oppressed of Satan and heal without demanding a fee ( Isaiah 45:13, Matthew 10;8) 

  It is the ignorance of these truth by the church in Africa especially Nigeria that has given rise to persons whose primary objective for doing ministry is to make money. Such ministries seldom teach on godliness and are breeding ground for corruption in the society .

  They are guilty of two sins (1) by claiming gain ( money getting) is godliness instead of godliness and contentment being of great reward . 2) They destroy work  ethics by exempting themselves from gainful employment or business. This is the root of the laziness and idleness in the church resulting in great poverty in the society.

   The bible says we should stay away from such persons 1Tim.6;5 "..from such withdraw thyself. " and 2 Thessalonians 3:6 -10 " withdraw yourself from every brother that works disorderly ..if any would not work , neither should he eat "

2 Timothy 3:13-17 "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 

  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:   That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.'

   The word 'seducer' has been misinterpreted to refer to the beautiful lady with short skirts or a good looking man that attracts the attention of women ,  that is not what it means .Being  Beautiful or handsome  is an asset in the church . They are meant to be instruments of righteousness to attract people into God's kingdom . The Jews where saved through Queen Esther's beauty ( Esther 5)/. They are also good for business as seen in the banking and aviation industry . 

    The word 'seducer ' is the Greek word 'goēs' ,it means a wizard ( as muttering a spell)  or an impostor ( fake preacher).  There are many impostors behind the pulpit partly due to the poor economy in Nigeria and most underdeveloped country . Most bible schools train people with a concept of making money through ministry . This is defined as success in ministry.   The bible says the essence of the Bible school should be for instruction in righteousness " that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:17.  Nigeria should have been a paradise on earth with the number of churches dotted all over the place 

   Jesus is not interested in the quantity of persons but quality of persons in our churches . 

  In other to attract customers (members ) these seducers teach that the grace of God allows for the practice of sins therefore, we continue to sin that grace may abound. Jesus said these impostors and their supporters will not enter heaven ( Matthew 7:21-23, 2 Thess 2:9-12)  

 GRACE IS NO LICENCE TO LIVE IN SIN .

Titus 2:11-12 says " For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

       The bible also says in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.'

  It also says in 2 Timothy 3:13 'But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.'" Members deceiving the pastors and pastors deceiving members . 

  Make a commitment to study the bible everyday , use Google to know meaning of words if in doubt . Ask the the lord to open your eyes to truth .

   "You say he does not respond to sinners with anger and is not greatly concerned about wickedness. But you are talking nonsense, Job. You have spoken like a fool.”

Job 35:15‭-‬16 NLT

    The theology that says God is not interested in how you achieve success but what matters is that you succeed by all means possible and attribute your success to God with infinitesimal acts of charity through donations to preachers and orchestrated almsgiving as described in Job 35:15-16 is unwise and ungodly .

      The church is disparaged every time a christian is mentioned in any financial scandal . Praising persons with questionable sources of wealth  destroys work ethics especially among youths and destroys faith in God's law of gradual progress  . The bible says in Exodus 23: 30 "By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land." This is God's way of increasing his people. Overnight success is contrary to God's way of doing things . Unfortunately, it is the motivation behind modern church growth formula and that's why creators of ponzi schemes thrive more in such churches . 

  Unfortunately , get- rich- quick schemes are taught in many churches as an indication of God's favour. That is absolutely not true , the bible says "Greedy people try to get rich quick but don’t realize they’re headed for poverty." Proverbs 28:22 NLT and Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time."Proverbs 13:11 NLT

    King David for a moment began waning in faith because of his admiration for the prosperity of the wicked , he said  

   "But as for me, I almost lost my footing. My feet were slipping, and I was almost gone. For I envied the proud when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness. They seem to live such painless lives; their bodies are so healthy and strong. They don’t have troubles like other people; they’re not plagued with problems like everyone else. They wear pride like a jeweled necklace and clothe themselves with cruelty. These fat cats have everything their hearts could ever wish for! And so the people are dismayed and confused, drinking in all their words. Look at these wicked people— enjoying a life of ease while their riches multiply. Did I keep my heart pure for nothing? Did I keep myself innocent for no reason? I get nothing but trouble all day long; every morning brings me pain. Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked. Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction. In an instant they are destroyed, completely swept away by terrors. "Psalms 73:2‭-‬7‭, ‬10‭, ‬12‭-‬14‭, ‬17‭-‬19 NLT

   The wicked seem to be progressing faster but unknown to them , they are on an inclined plane . A vehicle tends to move faster when going downhill but slower when going uphill . The righteous are destined for the top of the mountain of glory that's why the journey is slow but certain . " ; let all who are helpless take heart. " Psalms 34:2 BLT

Isaiah 62:1-2,6-7

[1]For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

[2]And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.

[6]I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

[7]And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth'

   Jesus Christ taught his disciples to watch and pray (Mk 14:38). This makes  every disciple a watchman . Prayer is not the exclusive of pastors , evangelist , apostles etc. . Every born again christian is expected to know how to pray in the simplest terms . Nigeria was known for spirit inspired  prayers for national reforms in the 80's with likes of Arch. Bishop Prof. Benson Idahosa playing a major role. They prayed for the christian nation more than their personal infinitesimal ministries .

  Prayer is the communication between God and his creators . Everything that has breath prays to God seeking for his will to be done.

In Mathew chapter 8 verse 31  demons prayed to God and he answered there prayers . The Bible says Matthew 8:31 "So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine." The word 'besought:' is the Greek word ' parakaleō it means to call near that is invite ,invoke (by imploration hortation or consolation): - beseech call for (be of good) comfort desire (give) exhort , to pray. In Job Satan came to God to seek permission to afflict Job. Job 2:6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life..' 

  The two examples mentioned teaches something many Christians do not know about  prayer , which is the act of seeking for the legal grounds to exercise dominion over a thing. Satan took over the garden of Eden from Adam by this principle.

 Eden is the first nation mentioned in the scriptures .  Whenever you travel out of your country or whenever you are communicating with a foreigner ,he or she sees you in the eyes of your country's position in the scale of the international transparency index. Every Christian of Nigerian origin is seen as corrupt even the unborn child . 

   Satan has created a name depicting corruption  for Nigeria legitimately based on the confession of it's citizens . The Jews suffered the same.  Isaiah 62:4 says 'Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married."

  The watchmen are to correct Nigerians every time they call themselves by Satan's name ( Desolate, God forsaken) . They are to call Nigeria by her new name "Isaiah 62:12 'And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.'  That was what prophet Isaiah taught his people to do.

  Israel today is called a Holy land and that nomenclature attracts billions of dollars in investments  to her annually despite her shortcomings ,  same with Saudi Arabia. India recently began calling herself Great India and the results are evident . The God that created those nations did not create any nation less Holy .All nations are equal in God's eyes. 

You will behave like what you are called. Great Britain can testify to this .Nigeria is Holy and great .

WHEN THE ENEMY COMES LIKE A FLOOD

Isaiah 59:18-20

" According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

[19]So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

[20]And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.'

    The book of Isaiah Chapter 59 is a continuation of Isaiah 58 and it speaks of the spiritual  implications of the legalization of illegality by a nation's supreme court .  It says in Isaiah 59:14-15 "And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment." Under such a condition those who stand on the part of truth and equity are treated as enemies . 

  This condition is described by the phrase " equity cannot enter '  The word 'equity' is the Hebrew word "nekôchâh' , it means 'straight forwardness ' . Imagine a society where being straight forward or going by the rule of law is a crime .  

   This grieves the Holy Spirit and opens the doors for the enemy to attack as a flood. Flood means : to be faced with too many problems at once beyond one's control .

 The Bible describes this condition in Isaiah 59:9-10 "]Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.". This is a state of confusion and hopelessness with many persons losing the will to live and increased suicidal tendencies.

    At this point intercessors are needed to pray for the fear of God to be enshrined in the hearts of men through the intentional teaching of the gospel in righteousness and the for the promotion of the rule of law in the nation through godly leadership . God has promised to make a new covenant with his people when that is done.. He says in Isaiah 59:21 "As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever." 

  The Spirit of God shall raise a standard (in the Hebrew it means to make something vanish ) against the flood of problems , this is what God promises his people .

BE THE HEDGE STAND IN THE GAP FOR THE LAND

Ezekiel 22:30 "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."

 Isaiah 58:1-3 'Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge?  ".

  There are often indicators before calamity befalls a nation. .Satan is seeking  for means to destroy nations but for the hedge God has placed over them . 

   National sins ( legalization of illegality by a supreme court of the land ) removes God's protective shield over that nation thus giving room for destroying angels to thrive like in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah ( Gen.18:20,Gen19:1-13) When sin becomes part of a nation's culture or tradition, it results in disaster . 

  The greatest crime a nation can commit against God is the open legalization of illegality. The major religions condemn murder and cheating in strong terms and so does God's word ( See seven things God hates in Proverbs 6:16-19) Any nation that legalizes anyone of these by a supreme court ruling is asking for calamity . This is what results in failed states. 

  The Bible says in Isaiah 58 :2 that God is least interested in daily church programs and religious activities as long as 'ordinances of justice' are being violated . 

The word 'ordinances ' in this verse of scripture is the Hebrew word 'mishpâţ' it means properly a verdict (favorable or unfavorable) pronounced {judicially} especially a sentence or formal decree (human or (particularly) divine {law} individual or {collectively}) including the {act} the {place} the {suit} the {crime} and the penalty; simply put , a miscarriage of justice . 

  Whenever such happens by the supreme court of the nation , disaster is inevitable . To avoid this we need believers that will be bold enough to openly declare these sins against God and pray for the judiciary. It is not a time to say 'don't judge' (Apostle Peter declared judgment upon Ananias in Acts 5) . Silence will spell certain doom.  Nigeria boasts of the highest church density with new churches rising up without any positive change to the society.

   We should ask God in our daily prayers for baldness to speak against the ills in society in schools, markets, churches ,offices etc. and collectively stand against the legalization of illegality by our justice system to evert God's destruction of our nation . The new testament scripture 

warns us in 1 Corinthians 10:9,11-12 "Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come./Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."

Good-Life Devotional: GIVE NO REST UNTIL A RIGHTEOUS NATION IS BORN. .

Isaiah 62:1 "For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth."

   The word 'righteousness' used in the above scripture is the Hebrew word  'tsedeq' it means : right ({natural} moral or legal); also (abstractly) equity or (figuratively) prosperity:

 So whenever we desire prosperity we should pray equity , moral and legal rightness in the society. Nigerians have a tendency to relocate to foreign countries where there is moral and legal rightness and equity . The founding fathers of those nations discovered true development cannot be attained outside the rule of law. I was privileged to live in a Nigeria when university tuition fees at the university of port Harcourt was N150 (one hundred and fifty naira)  per term . A brand new car could be purchased for less than N5000 (five thousand naira) . In 1989 my tuition at the Rivers state university of science and technology was about N1000 ( one thousand naira)  There was law and order to an extent then . it was a time in the church known as the period of the 'holiness movement' and baptism in the Holy Ghost . The fruits of the Holy Ghost was readily seen in church services and the fear of God ruled .

    Then in the mid nineties Nigerians began hearing main stream   preachers saying God has sent then to preach on prosperity and not righteousness, This corrupted version of prosperity began to spread and today out nation is on the brink of collapse.

   It is contrary to the truth of the holy scriptures to separate righteousness from prosperity. Prosperity means righteousness and righteousness means prosperity . A prosperous Christian is that person whose life inspires people to live morally right . Could that  be said of the church in Nigeria today where preachers are among the most feared persons with regards to criminality. It is for this reason that the spirit of God is calling for a return to the holiness movement.

 National righteousness starts with a rigorous devotion to the teachings on  righteousness in our churches . Seeds of righteousness will be sown into the hearts of God's people resulting in a harvest of righteousness. The Bible says Isaiah 61:11 "For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.' 

 Preachers should plant the seeds of the teachings of righteousness in the gardens of the human hearts as taught by Jesus messiah God in Mark 4:20 "And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. ' That's what the likes of Evangelist Billy Graham did in America and Smith Wigglesworth did in the UK  these nations are our favorite tourist destinations . Righteousness  pays.

Matt 7:22-23 KJV “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

      It is interesting to know that prophets and miracle workers who are often celebrated are at the risk of not making heaven along with persons who do not meet with God’s standard for salvation. There greatest undoing is the misconception of the principle of salvation by grace, where human effort is of no relevance but an absolute trust in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

       The prophetic office is sacred and it demands very strict discipline. Elisha refused an offering from a highly-placed foreign public officer (2kings5:16) a rare occurrence among today’s prophets with their claims of working in the so-called ‘anointing for high favour’ contrary to God’s instructions (Isaiah1:23). Elijah preferred trekking  instead of being seen in the same vehicle with Ahab which would have boosted his ego before his peers ( 1Kings18:44-46).He walked by faith . Faith is often consistent with logic or common sense Isaiah 1:18"Come now, let us reason together," says the Lord” therefore , prophets must expose themselves to logical scrutiny.

      Neglecting a logical approach to scriptures opens the door to deceit and satanic manipulations .One of such is the Post Hoc fallacy. It is the assumption that every seemingly good occurrence in the life of  followers are  approved of God and a result of the prophet’s  miraculous powers and so he takes the credit thus :promoting his or her infinitesimal ministry above the ministry of the word of God. But this is not the truth. All breakthroughs and prosperity are not necessarily divine ,some are Satan's snare leading to destruction (Psalm 78:29-32) This is why despite the large congregations in Nigeria , corruption is on the increase due to the promotion of prosperity outside righteousness by many preachers . They teach that the amount of money a person has is an indication of God's grace upon him or her. This teaching is a major reason for corruption and criminality in Nigeria.

        God is good to all irrespective of our religious affiliation Matthew 5:45.The Post Hoc fallacy is therefore a trap  set by these individuals and they eventually become victims  (2Timothy 3:13) .It is only those committed to the father’s will that are guaranteed a place in  heaven (Matthew 7:21 KJV) and the will of the father is that everyone who sees the Son and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Him should have eternal life, and will be raised up [from the dead] at the last day( John 6:40).

       Evidently, these prophets in Matthew7:22-23, failed because they were more interested in promoting personal ego than teaching on how to receive eternal life in Jesus Christ . They deemphasize the need for a personal one-of-a-kind relationship with God through faith(2Peter.2:19) and pursuit of righteous ideals . . 

         God is only glorified through the testimonies of repentant souls borne out of genuine faith in Christ. The scriptures in Galatians 5:19-21 is the litmus test for a genuine prophet .

John 11:11 NIV “ After he had said this, he went on to tell them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up."

         The lord Jesus received information from a messenger saying Lazarus -a dear friend of His- was terminally ill and a day later, the messenger returned to Bethany. Unscathed by the news, Jesus continued on His missionary work for a whole day thereafter, He departed for Bethany and on arrival His dear friend Lazarus had long died and was buried. It took four whole days from the time Jesus was informed about Lazarus’ illness to when He physically arrived at his graveside. It was intended to teach us that no matter how discouraging the circumstances might appear, situations are subject to change .God is not bound by human deadlines . Eventually Lazarus was raised from the dead and presented to his family (John 11:1-16).

         The death of Lazarus was spoken of as ‘sleep’; however, the disciples earlier thought Jesus was speaking of Lazarus having a nap until he told them in simple terms that he was dead. Death is final to the naturally minded but from God’s perspective, there is a resurrection. 

            Jesus Christ gave a vivid illustration of what happens at death in the gospel of John 12:24-26” I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.”  The seed that is buried in the ground must first ‘die’ and then is resurrected as a plant. The plant and the seed bear no resemblance but are actually the same.  The plant is the seed in a resurrected format , likewise, our physical bodies will die and will be resurrected just as surely as seeds produce plants (1Thesselonians 4:15-17).

          Our glorified bodies will be similar to our physical bodies as originally planned. The crippled will be resurrected and completely healed, likewise, the deaf, blind, and lame.They would be regenerated. Lazarus was completely healed of all his infirmities after resurrection, though he died again because the second coming of Christ was yet to be accomplished. The resurrected body will be glorious exactly like the resurrected body of Christ. He still looked human, He ate food (Luke24:42-43), had the print of the nails in His hands and feet (Luke24:39), and He said He had flesh and bones. Yet he could appear and disappear. Our resurrected bodies will be immortal - not subject to death.  You are not ordinary; your body carries the genes of the resurrected Christ.

 Luke 14:16-17 NIV Jesus replied: "A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.' 

        God’s will is for humanity to dwell with Him in His kingdom in perfect harmony for eternity. It is a place of celebration and rejoicing in everlasting peace and unlimited joy  . It is symbolized in the parable of the marriage feast in Luke 14:16-24 were an open ticket has been issued to all and sundry without any exception. The beauty of this invitation is that all expenses have been paid. The greatest tragedy that could ever befall a man is to reject this once in a lifetime opportunity (Hebrew 9:27). Many unfortunately for the fear of being accountable to a higher authority reject this offer while for some others; it is as a result of ignorance of the consequences of rejecting God’s offer.

         The two major excuses often given for rejecting God’s invitation revolves around (1)pride and love for money, property acquisition and maintenance  and (2) emotional ties (Luke 14:19-21)these are baits in the hands of the enemy. We are at liberty to acquire whatsoever we desire but it isn’t God’s will that we be enslaved by anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12 AMP says” Everything is permissible (allowable and lawful) for me; but not all things are helpful (good for me to do, expedient and profitable when considered with other things). Everything is lawful for me, but I will not become the slave of anything or be brought under its power.”

       Detachment from the pursuit of a wholesome relationship with God results in overwhelming fear of death and of the unknown. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Satan was disarmed of all powers . Therefore, as a born again Christian ; you can denounce your affiliation to a satanic cult and be free from the fear of death .Hebrews 2:14-15 says” Because God's children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.  Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.” The devil no longer has the power of death. Don’t be afraid.

      We have all been given equal invitation to the lord’s marriage supper and no excuse is permitted for refusing the gift of salvation . God commands the born again Christian  to compel men to come into the kingdom using every means possible  . In God’s eyes there is no such thing as an undesirable fellow .He desires His children to be more aggressive in their approach to inviting people to the kingdom , it is a matter of urgency, : before you finish reading this message another person would have missed out on this life time opportunity of reconciling with God because there was nobody to show them the way to a life with Christ where all provisions for a fulfilling life are ready for the taking (2Peter.1:3).

 Luke 11:13 NLT “ So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him."

           The  Holy Spirit is to a Christian what electricity supply  is to a household. You may have the best of electrical home appliances ,but they will be of no use until powered with electricity. God has deposited extraordinary potentials in the spirit of the born again Christian and they are brought into manifestation when he or she receives the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the self -regenerating life- giving force of God . In Acts 1.8 , He is described as the power of God. Therefore , we receive power to live the Christian life when we receive the Holy Ghost into our spirits. The disciples were instructed to remain in Jerusalem until they received this power Luke24:49

         The Holy Spirit is a lifetime gift from God (Acts 2:38) therefore, no one can earn the receiving of the Holy Ghost and He remains with us forever once received. All one needs to do to receive the Holy Ghost, is  to ask God in faith.

   The process of receiving the Holy Ghost is also known as Holy Ghost baptism and  is subsequent upon receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour .The Christian without the Holy Ghost is full of fear and excuses for not doing God’s will because He is the driving force behind the Christ- like zeal. It is because of this that the apostle Paul asked the Ephesians Church in Acts 19:2-6KJV “He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost….And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied”.

      The Holy Spirit also known as the comforter  reveals the will of God to the Church ,that is what it means to prophesy .It is because not much is being spoken of the individual Christian receiving the Holy Ghost that has paved the way for the proliferation of quack prophets and magicians behind the pulpit with disastrous consequences on our communities. The indwelling of the Holy Ghost is permanent (John 14:16). It starts with an infilling and as we yield our souls to Him through the saturation of our hearts with scriptures while renewing our minds in accordance to His will( Romans 12.1-3 )and with regular daily personal worship ,we experience different dimensions of His presence in us. Its like using a phone , the more you study it’s manual, the more you soon become acquainted with  it and become an expert on it’s usage . The more we yield to Him the more we become sensitive to His gentle voice leading us in the way we should go.

         God does not give the Holy Spirit by measure, thus, no preacher has more of the Holy Ghost than others ( John3:34, 2 Corinthians 4:13 )  the Holy Ghost is both the anointer and the anointing . He is also known as the Spirit of Christ. He does not reduce or  increase in fluctuations . He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrew 13:8) . However, our experience of the His indwelling can fluctuate , just as abandoning a relationship for a while can make a person feel like a stranger after a moment even if they  had not changed .The relationship is constant but the fellowship changes based on the individual’s passions. Therefore, whenever we experience a lull in our passion for Christ it is expected that we be stirred through a revival , this is attained by regular attendance of meetings where praying in the Holy Ghost( tongues) is a regular feature(Jude1:20) and through laying on of hands.         

               Regular absence from church meetings leads to the quenching of the fire of the zeal to serve God and exposes us to false doctrines ,temptations and satanic manipulations. Despising biblical prophesies even if it makes us sad especially when we are in error leads to quenching  spiritual zeal.  1 Thess 5:19-20 KJV  ” Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesying” The word “Quench” is the Greek  word ‘sbennumi’ which means to ‘extinguish’. It is like turning off a car ignition. The car soon comes to a halt. That’s all the enemy needs to strike , that’s why we need to be close to a mature believer whose word could bring us back to life again whenever we fall.(Hebrew. 10:24-25)

        In Acts 2 when the early church of about 120 members received the Holy Ghost , they

were so filled with Joy that many thought they were drunk .In Ephesians 5:18 believers are commanded to "be not drunk with wine...but be filled with the Spirit." Being filled with the Holy Spirit is in the present continuous tense, making it a continual command for the believer. Getting drunk in the Holy Ghost is expected to be an addiction and a daily occurrence. The drunk in the Spirit are impervious to the circumstances around them, they can face life with less fear and can  better withstand pain  .They act more like Jesus Christ .

Deuteronomy 23:5

[5]Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.

 "The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.' Ezekiel 18:20

 In Genesis chapter three  after Adam and Eve made an alliance with Satan and called God's word to question , they brought a curse upon themselves and their generation , given that all humans are part of Adam's gene pool. 

   The effect of the curse on Eve was that she will experience unpleasantness in procreation given that the children will be under the influence of sin like we saw Cain killing his brother Abel. It also meant there will be inequality between the man and woman with women being taken undue advantage of . 

  The earth became cursed with nature working against man instead of for him as seen in natural disasters and that only through hard work shall man be sustained. Man was barred from the garden of Eden and death reigned through the second law of thermodynamics . 

Man became disconnected from God and replaced fellowship with God with lifeless annoying religion .

   For a moment God's plan to have a human family was altered until Abraham.  Abraham was privileged to see the connection between humans and divinity when God said in Genesis 15:5  " tell the stars' ( a symbol of heavenly children ) meaning he was to be instrumental in the birth of a generation of heavenly children on earth . The word 'tell' in Genesis 15:5 is the Hebrew word 'sâphar ' it means to celebrate. This was an indication of the beginning of a cursed- free generation . 

   The Bible says God blessed Abraham and his seed . Genesis 12:3 "...and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." .

  The cure for a curse is a blessing from a superior authority. A curse is a license to fail while a blessing is the license to be prosperous while in fellowship with God. The person who has a lot of wealth but no personal relationship with God established on righteousness, peace and joy in the holy ghost cannot be said to be blessed ( Luke 16:19-25, Revelation 3:17) . The blessing is the curse-blocker. Abraham's righteousness was credited to his seed after him.  They are blessed because of Abraham (Deuteronomy 9.1-5)

   When the corrupt prophet Balaam was employed by the corrupt king to pass an evil verdict and place a curse on Israel that will be endorsed by God , the Lord changed the curse into a blessing because Jesus the curse-blocker was in their midst . The Bible says Numbers 23:21,23 "He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!" Believe God to save save your family and country from whatever doom Satan intends to bring upon you. Jesus Christ , the curse-blocker is with you .(Galatians 3:13)

PROGRESSIVE MANIFESTATION OF FAITH

Mark 11:20-21 “In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.  Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!" NIV

   Jesus' disciples were surprised to see how quick it took for the tree to wither. The previous day He  had sought for food from the tree but found none and He cursed  the tree and by morning it withered.  The tree began to die from the roots up. It died instantly just as Jesus said, and it was a process that was not immediately visible until the next morning.

    This is typical of the process involving the manifestation of the miraculous when we pray. A similar situation was involved in the healing of the boy in Mark 9:26-27NIV” The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead."  But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up..’ For a moment , it seemed nothing was happening, as a matter of fact people thought the boy was dead, the worse had happened, then the unexpected happened , he was raised on his feet and completely made whole.

     Similarly when we ask God for anything, things may not go as planned, however, regardless of what happens, we do receive, but it may take a little while before we perceive it in the natural realm.

    Though the manifestation of what we have believed the Lord for when we prayed may take a little while, however all prayers are answered instantly. There is an ongoing underground process  only visible when viewed with the eye of faith just like the fig tree .It may not look like it but God is doing something about your situation even as you read this right now. Miracles are products of seeds of faith sown in to our hearts .Just like all seeds, some sprout faster than others, a bean seed may sprout in three days while it takes a palm oil tree seed over ninety days to germinate. All the farmer can do is patiently wait and get about his life with great expectations.

      Do not allow the enemy hinder your faith during your time of waiting like he tried doing to Jesus while in the wilderness and to Daniel whose prayers were answered immediately by God yet it took twenty one days for Daniel to see God's answer come to fruition, because the prince of Persia (a demonized leader ) hindered the manifestation ( Daniel 10:1-13) .Daniel refused to quit believing, he held on to God’s Word.  You are the only one that can stop your miracle from taking place.

      Whenever we pray the answer first transits through the spiritual realm through the soulish  then to the physical according to the dictates of the word of God. Our prayers would be answered even if we don't perceive the answer instantly. It is like the process involved in making a masterpiece from clay by a porter , also a woman does not need to physically see the fetus in her womb on the first day of her pregnancy before she believes she is pregnant. Right now you are pregnant with a miracle and the increased discomforts you feel are an indication that your delivery date is near. Do not abort the miracle by wavering in your faith , keep confessing God’s word every time you are afraid and sing songs of worship and meditate on the book of psalm like chapters 23, 27, 34 , 103, 112, 119 , to stay in peace, . God answers prayers .

John 8:21,23-24

[21]said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. 

[23]And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. 

[24]I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. '

One of the reasons why the religious people of Jesus' time and now find it difficult to understand how Jesus Christ can be 100% person God and man is the fact that he came in human flesh .

  Jesus Christ warned us against judging  based on physical values because something can be both spirit and flesh.

The Bible says in John 7: 24 "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

 Jesus Christ said ' I am from above" therefore , he should not be seen as any of the prophets . None of the prophets was from above but earthly . Jesus Christ was born through an immaculate conception by a virgin Mary with no earthy  biological father .

 The apostle Peter declared that “Christ died for sins, once for all” (1 Peter 3:18). 

The apostle Paul observed that “Christ died for our sins, according to Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3). Why did Jesus have to die for our sins? The bible says We all have sinned (Romans 3:23) and the consequence is death (6:23). We all deserve God's judgement, condemnation, and eternal dheaven

unless God intervened himself . The world was polluted with sin and cursed . The priests, sacrifices and temple was defiled. For divine justice to be fulfilled God created a new priest , sacrifice and temple all in Jesus Christ. 

  Jesus Christ was the once-and -for -all sacrifice that replaced centuries of animal sacrifices in the Jewish tabernacles and temples, performed to atone for the sins of the people, Religious duties cannot take away sins that is why we repeat pilgrimages , fastings, oblations etc. A sinner cannot deliver himself from sin , only a saviour can save a sinner from his sins. This saviour must have the power to forgive sins. Jesus Christ demonstrated his power to forgive sins in Mark 2:5  "When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. " only God can forgive sins. 

  Those persons who believe they can only be saved through their religious duties will perish in their sins . Jesus Christ said John 8:24

[24]I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. ' The proof of this is the constant state of guilt in all humans . No body can truly say they are perfect and without sins and become as righteous as God. For you to enter heaven you must be perfect and as righteous as God and that can only happen through a saviour . 

  The crucifixion of Jesus was not a historical accident. It was a carefully planned event, in line with the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3) to make us as holy as God once and for all .Hebrews 9:26,28

[26]For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

[28]So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

Matthew 22:23 "The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,”  

   When a corn seed is planted, it goes into a process of complete decay and something amazing happens: out of the decayed material emerges a new crop according to its genetic code. The genetic code did not die with the other parts of the seed. If it did something else would have emerged.  This is one of the many mysteries of life on earth and it gives us a clue of what happens at death .Resurrection means "to come alive again."

        Life is a continuum . Daniel 12:2 TLB "And many of those whose bodies lie dead and buried will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” . Human beings consist of three parts - a spirit, a soul, and a body (1 Th.5:23). The body is mortal while the spirit and soul are immortal. It is just like a mobile phone which consists of three parts: a hardware, software and an invisible electromagnetic network. A destroyed handset does not mean the end of the designer’s software program  and the electromagnetic forces that power the phone. 

           At death, the body goes through the natural law of decomposition process and returns to its original earthly elements. On judgment day, the soul and spirit of the departed are summoned   from either it’s heavenly domain or domain of Satan and his disciples (hell). At resurrection, the material elements of the body are regenerated from the earth , raised up and united with the spirit and soul. Each reconstituted personality will be identifiable and consistent with their historical earthly traits. Everyone comes back to life again and those who despised Christ will be eternally damned Revelation 21:8 NLT” But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars — their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

       Believing in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and accepting Him as lord and saviour guarantees us a life of joyful bliss eternally with a completely regenerated celestial, glorious, immortal, heavenly body thus completing the redemptive work of Christ on that individual   .

    Without the resurrection process  we are hopeless and most miserable of men and our faith is dead. It is the hallmark of the born again experience. (  1 Corinthians 15:12-17)  .The driving force behind the Christian life is born out of the resurrected life of Jesus Christ transforming us in the course of time into the very image of God . You are being transformed from glory to glory even as we await that final day in hope .

  "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." 2Corinthians 5.17 Bible
    The moment a person receives Jesus Christ as lord and saviour ,his or old life and identity abruptly comes to an end and now everything is new in Christ. Everything from your old life (failures,overwhelming appetite for sin , heartbreaks, curses, hopelessness, rejection, slavery etc) has ended and all things have become new. It is likened to what happens when a woman (a daughter of an abusive father) gets married and changes her surname. She undergoes a radical transformation in status in an instant. As soon as the marriage vows are exchanged and she is declared a wife an overwhelming essence takes over the woman with authority , control and freedom. Physically , she is the same but she has gone through a spiritual transformation witnessed by angels and society would no longer frown at her sleeping on the same bed with her husband. This is different from casual dating and sex between boyfriends and girlfriends. That's why marriages must be properly conducted and the marriage vows protected.
   The biblical process of regeneration is not talking about our natural life but our spiritual (the human rational soul -by implication- vital principle or mental disposition) life. It is like changing a mobile phone SIM card and software from an inefficient mobile phone company  to a super efficient phone network, though the phone remains the same but there is an internal transformation leading to an increase in the phones functional value and potential. When we receive the free gift of salvation into our lives, there is a transformation that happens on the inside of each one of us. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead gives new life to our spirit man when we become one with the body of Christ. At that very moment, our 'old nature' died, and a new life began .Sin no longer has dominion over us .
  Just as it takes a newly married woman to come to terms with her new status ,likewise  despite this change in our status we may still struggle with remnants of our old ways, seemingly still alive and well in our soul. Old thought patterns, familiar false beliefs, etc. seem to want to control our minds. While these struggles are tangible an  actual fact, they are residues from our former identity and they are only as powerful as we make them be by agreeing with these thoughts .The married woman still imagines herself to be a daughter to an abusive father and may be tormented by fears from past abuse until she renews her mind to conform with her new status.
         We are however transformed into our new nature by the renewing of the mind by constantly thinking about life in the light of God's Word and His love towards us (Romans 12:1-2) we are not to be conformed to this world's view any longer.
    Its very easy to know what to do when you ask yourself what will Jesus do if faced with the same situation we are in. This is revealed in the bible.  The more we renew our minds through the scriptures, the more His transforming power within us manifests His glory and power through us.
      In your daily prayers ask God to help you become  conscious of your status as a joint-heir with Christ , saved, sanctified ,blessed, favoured, joyful ,prosperous ,peaceful, healed ,fruitful ,victorious and indomitable .

  Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed of the gospel .." Believers are expected to share the gospel every opportunity they have .There are simple steps on how to sell yourself to your audience as a preacher of the gospel.

          Ask questions in every discussion as a way of showing interest in your audience (Proverbs. 18:13.) People easily show interest in us when we are interested in them .

        Learn to be a good listener , it tells your audience you have respect for them and gives you a better insight of the topic on ground (James 1:19) . People easily pay attention to us when they observe how much respect we have shown them by listening to their point of view.

   Allow them to express themselves freely without restrictions ,when we allow people speak their heart freely it gives us an opportunity to really know their state of mind and affords us the opportunity to identify the weaknesses in their belief system ,this is important in building an argument against wrong theology and philosophies (Proverbs . 20:5, Matthew. 12:34b.) Ask what they believe in (Act 26:27) while seeking for points of agreement (Acts 17:23-28)

       Make attempts at identifying with your audience while acknowledging that nobody has the monopoly of knowledge. People detest preachers who create the impression of a "know it all" (1Corinthians 9:19-22) In the process of identifying with your audience ,it is imperative that you share your life experiences with them , such testimonies builds confidence in your hearers (Acts 26:1-20) and try to give verifiable points in order to gain trust .God does not need your help in the conversion process ,therefore ,there isn't any need to exaggerate facts( Mark. 4:2) . While sharing the gospel it is best when we use contemporary happenings in our surroundings as means of explaining biblical truth ( Luke 13:1-5)

   We should be compassionate in our opinions and dispositions to current events (Psalm 126:5-6,Matthews 9:36). There is absolutely nothing wrong being emotional , after all the scriptures says  Jesus wept when he saw the way people responded to Lazarus' death. We should be patient while explaining facts to our audience , people are less hostile to the message of the gospel when we show decorum (Acts2:40) sometimes a little entertainment is all that is needed to break the ice and be very determined in winning  soul for the kingdom of God (Luke. 14:23 ) Finally, allow your audience make a commitment to living for Christ  without coercion  and remember to keep praying for them. Unfortunately , despite God's love for humanity and his kindness some persons will prefer going to hell , if everyone made heaven then scriptures would be invalid because it says many persons will not enter heaven by choice . This is a sad reality, therefore , we should not try to  shove the gospel down the throat of anyone
