" The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;  To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord , and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;" Isaiah 61:1‭-‬2 KJV 

  'And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.  And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him."Genesis 37:34‭-‬35 KJV 

   Our best plans does not guarantee our exemption from suffering permanent of temporary losses . We all have suffered a painful  loss at one time  or the other and at such moments we need some comfort from an understanding friend. 

    In Gen 37 Jacob struggled to be comforted after receiving news about the loss of his precious  son Joseph . Sometimes you need the help of others . The Bible says we should comfort persons who are repentant of their errors " so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him , lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow." II Corinthians 2:7 NKJVbible 

  God wants us to be comforted “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God." Isaiah 40:1 NKJVBible 

The anointing of the Holy Ghost dwells in the believer to comfort the hurting. The Bible says  " To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord , that He may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3 NKJVbible

  We are advised to comfort each other . "Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.';" IThessalonians 5:11 NKJVBible and " . God comforts us through other's , the Bible speaks of Titus in this regard  : "Therefore we have been comforted in your comfort. And we rejoiced exceedingly more for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all." II Corinthians 7:13 NKJVBible 

    At such times we share our testimonies and  this comforts us in our tribulation, " that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

II Corinthians 1:4 NKJVBible. 

While comforting the weak we should be cautious to avoid condemning them . Job's friends were condemning instead of comforting him in his travails “I have heard many such things; Miserable comforters are you all! Shall words of wind have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer? I also could speak as you do, If your soul were in my soul’s place. I could heap up words against you, And shake my head at you; But I would strengthen you with my mouth, And the comfort of my lips would relieve your  grief." Job 16:2‭-‬5 NKJV

Singing gospel inspired songs while making prophetic utterances can be a major source of comfort to the distraught soul (Psalm32:7: 1Cor.14:3) and sometimes all that is required is our presence .The scriptures says " So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great." Job 2:13 NKJVBible

JOYFUL TIMES WILL CERTAINLY COME AGAIN

" Because you would forget your misery, And remember it as waters that  have passed away," Job 11:16 NKJVBible

   " You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness," Psalms 30:11 NKJVBible

      The sackcloth is a clothe won in the old testament period as a symbol of how repentant a person was for breaking God's laws . It was a period of deep sorrows likened to that in a funeral . 

     For those he loves the lord disciplines by allowing the saints go through hardships until we learn to put God first in all our considerations. Doing this makes us selfless and more humane in our decision making process. The bible says  " But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak. But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ." I Corinthians 8:9‭, ‬12 NKJVBible  . Whenever  your liberty becomes injurious to the disadvantaged in society and the church then it is no longer a blessing . 

   We should be hopeful while going through trying times ,knowing " For His anger is  but  for a moment, His favor is  for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning." Psalms 30:5 NKJVBible  . The period of trial comes with so many sackcloth ( not so beautiful) moments but you shall testify saying " You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness," Psalms 30:11 NKJVBible whenever those repressive thoughts seems to rise to pull us down we are lifted while singing songs of praise in acknowledgment of God's goodness  . The bible says " Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, And will have mercy on His afflicted."  Isaiah 49:13 NKJVBible

   The period of praise and thanksgiving is a demonstration of faith in a glorious future . The period of trial is a time when we learn to stand alone without a human comforter while trusting in the lord.  The scriptures says  ":Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is done under the sun: And look! The tears of the oppressed, But they have no comforter— On the side of their oppressors there  is power, But they have no comforter." Ecclesiastes 4:1 NKJVBible  Your oppressors do not have peace , they have no comfort .  

 The days of sorrow is coming to an end   " Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness." Isaiah 51:11 NLTBible Happy days shall soon come again .

 Prayer: Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to recover all that the enemy has stolen in Jesus name.

FROM SORROW TO OVERWHELMING JOY

" In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through—all that bloodshed! So don’t feel sorry for yourselves. Or have you forgotten how good parents treat children, and that God regards you as his children? My dear child, don’t shrug off God’s discipline, but don’t be crushed by it either. It’s the child he loves that he disciplines; the child he embraces, he also corrects. God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’s training , the normal experience of children. Only irresponsible parents leave children to fend for themselves. Would you prefer an irresponsible God? We respect our own parents for training and not spoiling us, so why not embrace God’s training so we can truly live ? While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God’s holy best. At the time, discipline isn’t much fun. It always feels like it’s going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off handsomely, for it’s the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God." Hebrews 12:4‭-‬11 MSGBible 

   Adam was thrown out of the garden of Eden because of the misappropriation of the resources under his care. Love requires discipline , when boundaries are not defined in a relationship it leads to abuse and infidelity. Infidelity is the crossing of boundaries and this comes with consequences . These consequences can be very unpleasant and intended to right a wrong . 

   Mismanagement of opportunities results in hardship. Before any global recession occurs   the lord grants his children excess resources but very often they are wasted during the years of plenty ,this leads into unnecessary hardship during the recession. Joseph  saved during the seven years of plenty and sustained in the seven years of drought . 

   There is hope after the suffering , you shall be settled, perfect , strengthened and established (1Peter5:10) you shall be comforted ( Matt5:4) 

  God's discipline proves his love for us " Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good." Deuteronomy 8:5 NLTBible

   Your present struggles will produce something glorious for you in future (Rom.8;28 and " So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while."1 Peter 1:6 NLTBible

“Son of man, you’ve heard that proverb they quote in Israel: ‘Time passes, any prophecies come to nothing.’   Tell the people, ‘This is what the Sovereign lord says: I will put an end to this proverb, and you will soon stop quoting it.’ Now give them this new proverb to replace the old one: ‘The time has come for every prophecy to be fulfilled!’ 

  “There will be no more false visions and flattering predictions in Israel. 

 For I am the lord! If I say it, it will happen. There will be no more delays, you rebels of Israel. I will fulfill my threat of destruction in your own lifetime. I, the Sovereign lord, have spoken!”  Ezekiel 12: 22-25 NLT 

   " Despise not  prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that  which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 KJV 

    The word ' prophesyings ' is the Greek word ' prophēteia' it means,  a discourse emanating from divine inspiration and declaring the purposes of God, whether by reproving and admonishing the wicked, or comforting the afflicted, or revealing things hidden; especially by foretelling future events , .of the endowment and speech of the Christian teachers called prophets (Thayer/ strong Greek Hebrew Dictionary)

    A church member Bro Justified Kingdom Ahunanyah ( Facebook name)  was concerned about the security in his village while planning for his late mother's burial . The Spirit of the lord led me to say that one of the warring parties will receive a report that a member was attacked by an opposite gang and they will hurriedly leave the village and will return at the end of the burial when we all would have left , and that was what happened. The lord was glorified and this event has strengthened the faith of the family till this day.

   Prophets exist and are given to correct , direct  and nurture our journey of faith . They are to speak against the ills in the church , society and  rebuke erring leaders. 1Timothy 5:20 "Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.'

   Without prophets the church will be without direction and stagnant. To make progress you need a prophet . It is for this reason that God does not take kindly the abuse of the office of the prophet. The people in Ezekiel's time lost confidence in prophesies because of failed prophesies. Like in Nigeria and America many prophesy for money. This is an abomination before God. This is the reason behind the falling standards in society . 

    God pronounced his judgement against these prophets . The Bible says  "This is what the Sovereign lord says: What sorrow awaits the false prophets who are following their own imaginations and have seen nothing at all!’   “O people of Israel, these prophets of yours are like jackals digging in the ruins. 

 They have done nothing to repair the breaks in the walls around the nation. They have not helped it to stand firm in battle on the day of the lord.  Instead, they have told lies and made false predictions. They say, ‘This message is from the lord,’ even though the lord never sent them. And yet they expect him to fulfill their prophecies! 

  A false prophet is any whose preachings are not centred on repentance from sins and baptism in the Holy Spirit (Act2:38) . They frustrate the righteous and pray for the success of the unrepentantly wicked for love of money .

"Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ," Philippians 3:8 KJVBible 

 " Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,"Hebrews 12:1 KJVBible 

    The Bible describes the missionary journey of the believer in Jesus Christ as a race , it is a marathon race that starts from the day a person receives Jesus Christ as  lord and savior and makes a commitment to live for him. 

The speed of a vehicle in a race is directly proportional to its weight so is the rate of fuel consumption . Automobile and aircraft designers know this too well that's why new models of vehicles designed for speed have body panels made of composite materials that are light weight but with a high tensile strength. For meaningful progress to be made towards the fulfilment of purpose the believer has to be versatile , dynamic , strong and lightweight (Spiritually)  to be effective in the Lords vineyard . 

   God seldom uses persons who are attached to things ( positions and possessions ) for long. Such persons are high risk and high maintenance tools . They are not reliable and are emotionally insensitive and unstable. 

 Before the lord can effectively use a person ,he would first detach them from their idols - possessions and positions . Moses was removed from the palace and sent to the desert , Joseph from the luxury of Potiphar's home to prison , Jesus Christ was led by the Holy Ghost to the wilderness for 40 days and nights .The bible says  " Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:  For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:" Colossians 3:5‭-‬6 KJV 

 The word 'covetousness' is the Greek word 'pleonexia'.  it means  -greedy desire to have more, avarice. This is the reason for rebellion against spiritual authority and the Holy Spirit . If not repentant such persons end up losing everything like the lord did to apostle Paul - no wife, children ,money,  houses etc. 

    God hates disobedience of any form and withdraws his angels from rebels thus exposing them to spiritual torment  . Apostle Paul suffered this until he was completely detached from 'things' ; he went on to be a major influencer in the  church till date , he said." ..So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud." 2 Corinthians 12:7 NLTBible

 The lords prospers his servants and always wants to be the centre of our affection (Psalm73:25) our lives should not be defined by 'things' ( Luke12:15) as they tend to depreciate (Prov 22:5) .They are of no spiritual value, therefore, we should joyfully suffer the loss of 'things' or positions (Hebrews 10:34) We should be able to say "....none of these things move me .." (Acts 20:23-24) in the face of painful losses , with our faith unshaken .

ROBBERY FOR THANKSGIVING OFFERINGS

  "Saul and his men spared Agag’s life and kept the best of the sheep and goats, the cattle, the fat calves, and the lambs—everything, in fact, that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless or of poor quality. 

  "When Samuel finally found him, Saul greeted him cheerfully. “May the lord bless you,” he said. “I have carried out the lord’s command!” 

 “Then what is all the bleating of sheep and goats and the lowing of cattle I hear?” Samuel demanded. 

 “It’s true that the army spared the best of the sheep, goats, and cattle,” Saul admitted. “But they are going to sacrifice them to the lord your God. We have destroyed everything else.” 

  And Samuel told him, “Although you may think little of yourself, are you not the leader of the tribes of Israel? The lord has anointed you king of Israel. 

  Then my troops brought in the best of the sheep, goats, cattle, and plunder to sacrifice to the lord your God in Gilgal.” 

 But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices     or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice,     and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. 

 "Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft,     and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the lord,  he has rejected you as king.” 

1 Samuel 15:23  King Saul was an opportunist who saw God's judgement against Amalek as an opportunity for self enrichment . Opportunists worship God under their terms . 

 This is common in countries where preachers claim God blesses ANYHOW ( legally and illegally) it is the reason for the increase in criminality despite the proliferation of churches. GOD DOES NOT BLESS ANYHOW. The bible says " Then call on me when you are in trouble,     and I will rescue you,     and you will give me glory.”  But God says to the wicked: “Why bother reciting my decrees  and pretending to obey my covenant? For you refuse my discipline    and treat my words like trash. When you see thieves, you approve of them,  and you spend your time with adulterers". Psalms 50:15- 18

      Also in " The sacrifice of an evil person is detestable,  especially when it is offered with wrong motives." Proverbs 21:27 

 On national TV the story was told of a notorious kidnapper whose activities had resulted in the death of many of his victims and he often made large contributions and even built a church building  . He was eventually arrested and jailed. Thanksgiving offerings  does not make a wrong right . God cannot be bribed , he seeks repentance from sins

  God hates the thanksgiving offerings of opportunists . Repentance is of more value than offerings . God hates the use of proceeds from extortion as thanksgiving offerings (Isaiah 61:8) also  " The rich among you have become wealthy  through extortion and violence. Your citizens are so used to lying  that their tongues can no longer tell the truth." Micah 6:12

 'But the  Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil  spirit from the Lord troubled him. And Saul’s  servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit  from God troubleth thee. Let our lord now  command thy servants, which are before thee,  to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on  an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil  spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play  with his hand, and thou shalt be well.  And  Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a  man that can play well, and bring him to me.  Then answered one of the servants, and said,  Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the  Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a  mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and  prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the  Lord is with him.  Wherefore Saul sent  messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me  David thy son, which is with the sheep.   And  Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle  of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his  son unto Saul. And David came to Saul, and  stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and  he became his armourbearer.  And Saul sent  to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand  before me; for he hath found favour in my sight.   And it came to pass, when the  evil spirit  from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp,  and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed,  and was well, and the and the evil spirit departed from  him.' 1 Samuel 16;14-23

   Worthy of note is the fact that the lord can send an evil spirit to a king . The word 'evil' is the Hebrew word ' ra‛ râ‛âh'  it means disagreeable, unhappiness, misery,giving pain. 

   There are two sets of leaders in the church 1) opportunists 2) servants . Opportunists take undue advantage to exploit others for personal gain. Servants seek for ways to help others fulfill their purpose on earth , David was such a person. Ask the lord for a servant's heart.

   The Lord sent a demon to king Saul because he turned against the lord in ungratefulness . The Bible says  in 1 Samuel 16:14 ' But the  Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil  spirit from the Lord troubled him." The word departed is the Hebrew word ' sûr śûr'  it means to turn aside , reject . A sign that a leader has been rejected is a constant feeling of misery , pain , unhappiness and a tendency to always be in disagreement with others for no logical reason . 

   Some leaders resort to narcotics , cheap sex and alcoholism to stop the pain but like Saul it is from God and would not go away. Another example of God sending an evil spirit to opportunistic leaders is found in,1 king 22;22-23  "And the Lord  said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go  forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all  his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade  him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.  Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying  spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and  the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee."  

Opportunistic and exploitative  prophets who partner with political leaders to plunder the people's Commonwealth were given a lying spirit resulting in failed prophesies and miserable followers . A preacher cannot be possessed by a demon unknowingly. 

   Prayers : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to destroy satanic strongholds in Jesus name.

"With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words " II Chronicles 32:8 NKJVBible 

"Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out His hand, Both he who helps will fall, And he who is helped will fall down; They all will perish together." Isaiah 31:3 NKJVBible 

    The believer's life involves confronting the challenges of life both physically and spiritually . Not all challenges are spiritual , all that may be required in some cases is knowledge of a physical process. For example , boiling a kettle of water for tea is a problem that should not be considered as a spiritual problem. 

    Treat physical problems as requiring physical solutions and spiritual problem as requiring spiritual solutions.

  The enemy is a spirit but operates in the physical more than the spiritual . An example was the case of David and Goliath. Goliath was more qualified physically to win the battle but David knew there was power beyond the physical that dwells in the anointed of the lord  "Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied." I Samuel 17:4 NKJV

   The lord will not let the opposition prevail against his anointing . " Arise, O Lord , Do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged in Your sight. Put them in fear, O Lord , That the nations may know themselves to  be  but men. Selah"Psalms 9:19‭-‬20 NKJVBible  It may seem the enemy is stronger but their strength is neutralized . The bible says the enemy is nothing but noise " They cried there, ‘Pharaoh, king of Egypt, is  but a noise. He has passed by the appointed time!’" Jeremiah 46:17 NKJV

     God determines the outcome of every battle , not human intelligence or might . It is important to ask the lord about the outcome of a battle before engaging yourself in it. 

"A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength".

Psalms 33:17 NKJV and " For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them. But You have saved us from our enemies, And have put to shame those who hated us." Psalms 44:3‭, ‬7 NKJV

    We are not to trust in human might to overcome our enemies. The Bible says "Through You we will push down our enemies; Through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, Nor shall my sword save me." Psalms 44:5‭-‬6 NKJVBible We are not to fear or be intimidated by the power of human influence. 

  The Bible says "The Lord  is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord  is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will  be confident." Psalms 27:1‭, ‬3 NKJVBible

 DECONSTRUCTION OF THE TRUTH (PART 2)

Hebrews 11:24-26

[24]By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

[25]Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

[26]Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.'

   Human behaviour is guided by what we are accountable to. This person can only be someone higher than oneself. This person determines what one considers as truth. Truth is objective not subjective , intuitive  and rational . 2+2 equals 4 in any circumstance. This is truth and factual. Truth is what defines the meaning of meanings   

    Many modern preachers define truth along the lines of what gives a desirable outcome but Moses proved that to be wrong . He lived in the palace with Pharaoh: the most powerful king at the time yet had no peace because the truth was that he was anointed to be the  deliverer of the Jews in bondage in Egypt . He abandoned a life of opulence and became a Shepherd . 

    Another example is Apostle Paul .He was a highly placed religious leader with  so much influence . He was responsible for the arrest of many of the early disciples and there execution .After his conversion he was faced with persecution and suffered loses. The account of his ordeals are contained in 2Cor. 11;23-28. 

  He said in conclusion in defense of his choices against those who may take him for a fool  , he said in Philippians 3:8  'Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,' 

  Truth is about the fulfilment of divine purpose and this is manifested in the pursuit of its three cardinal components  1) righteousness which is the  Christian's equity of character or acts .2) Peace which the quietness, rest and prosperity and 3) joy in the Holy ghost. The Bible says in  Romans 14:17

" For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." 

   This should be the guide to whatever anyone  postulates as truth , we should seek for these components and not the abundance of meat and drinks ( symbolic of pleasure ) . Do not mistake what gives you riches to be  truth. Riches are deceptive (Mark 4:19)

   When truth is in operation it will manifest the fruits of the Holy Ghost . The scriptures says in Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

  On the contrary when falsehood is present in a Christian ministry the following character will be seen as listed in ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:19‭-‬21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

 " When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,  idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, ] envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God."

DECONSTRUCTION OF TRUTH ( Part 1)

Genesis 16:2 "And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai."

  Acts 17:10-11 "And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." 

    There are two ways preachers  to interpret the scriptures by 1)reading meaning out of the scriptures (exegeses) or 2) reading personal meanings into scriptures for a selfish reason (eisegesis) . Eisegesis is the deconstruction of truth. The Bereans did not take a  preacher's word for it , they crosschecked with their righteous conscience  

and prophesies of old.  That's were truth dwells .

   God promised Abraham children from his loins in Genesis 15:4 'And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.' Sarah lied when she said God made her barren ( Gen.1;22,28, Deut ,7:14)  God blessed Abraham's household  with fruitfulness. 

   The Bible defines truth to be a person .In John 17:17 'Sanctify them through thy truth: THY WORD IS TRUTH. The word of God is Truth . The scriptures says John 1:1,14

[1]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

[14]And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."  Truth is singular . There are no two meanings to God's word. 

  Sarah had a wrong interpretation to God's promise . It  involved a carnal or human approach to s spiritual reality. She wanted to assist God. She gave her made Hagar to her husband . This resulted in the birth of Ishmael .  He was born under an environment of strife , arrogance , rebellion. Parents have a string influence on children and Ishmael grew up to produce feudal Lords as seen in the Middle East today. 

  The Bible says in Genesis 16:12 'And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren." this is the origin of the crisis in the Middle East : the result of Sarah's deconstruction of the truth. 

  For the love of money and fame a lot of preachers deconstruct the truth of God's word along the line of appealing to humanism. Nimrod (Gen 10:9-20, Gen 11: 1-9)  is the father of humanism and he sort power and fame and failed woefully. The same awaits those following  his ideals . Anything that takes your passion 

from God is an abomination to him (Luke 16:15) 

 False teachers are trying to deconstruct the truth of the gospel through the line of pursuit of what makes a person happy .This is the reason behind the rapid collapse of the traditional family system and the moral values of  churches in Europe and America and their affiliates around the world.

'You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!" Isaiah 26:3 NLT

  "I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?" Psalms 56:11 NLTbible 

     Peace is the absence of disturbance , it is a state of tranquility . It is not necessarily the absence of problems but the assurance that the outcome of any event will be to ones' advantage and to the glory of God. 

    With this understanding it is possible to be in an abusive situation and be in peace . The Bible speaks of Joseph's incarceration in Egypt , he was not guilty of any crime but was framed up by his boss's wife . The scripture says the Lord was with him in prison .Before his imprisonment  " The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master." Genesis 39:2 NLTbible  and while in prison " The warden had no more worries, because Joseph took care of everything. The Lord was with him and caused everything he did to succeed." Genesis 39:23 NLTbible  

  Wherever the lord is ,there is the fullness of joy . Joseph experienced extraordinary joy and peace regardless of his physical situation . This is the fruit of the Holy Ghost .   This extraordinary peace comes from total trust in the Lord .

   'Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me."Psalms 23:4 NLTbible  you can have peace while under threat ,the bible says " I have heard the many rumors about me, and I am surrounded by terror. My enemies conspire against me, plotting to take my life. But I am trusting you, O Lord , saying, “You are my God!” Psalms 31:13‭-‬14 NLTbible. 

   God is the same with his Word in the bible and trusting in his written and prophetic word  gives instant peace. The more of God's word you know , the more peace you will experience . "Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.' Psalms 119:165 NLTbible Married couples with a tradition of reading scriptures to themselves or are active in a home fellowship enjoy this peace . Request from your pastor to make your house a home fellowship centre ,wherever two or three are gathered in Jesus' name his peace shall be there. The bible is the strongest family bonding tool ."But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.” Proverbs 1:33 NLTbible 

   Through the bible we are reminded of God's presence in our lives ,this gives peace ( Deut 20:3-4)  especially when surrounded by persons who are afraid (Isaiah8:12b, Isaiah34:4) .

   When fear is demon-inspired , remember God has given us power to cast out demons and when faced with overwhelming fear remember to ask for the Lord's help (psalm34;4) 

    Seek to be filled with the Holy Ghost and courage to stand your grounds in the face of terror. (Heb.11:33,34, Acts 4:29,31 .

   Repentance from  sins and forsaking them opens the door for peace in our hearts “If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your

hands to him in prayer! Get rid of your sins, and leave all iniquity behind you. Then your face will brighten with innocence. You will be strong and free of fear." 

Job 11:13‭-‬15 NLTbible 

  Hold on to God's promise in psalms 91: 15 "He shall  call upon me, and I will  answer him: I will be  with him in trouble; I will  deliver him, and honour  him."

SOLA SCRIPTURA

1 Corinthians 4:6 ']And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another."

   Sola scriptura (Latin for 'by scripture alone') is a Christian theological doctrine held by most Protestant Christian denominations , that posits the Bible as the sole infallible source of authority for Christian faith and practice.

  The five solas  , i 

nclude sola scriptura (Scripture alone), solus Christus (Christ alone), sola fide (faith alone), sola gratia (grace alone), and soli Deo gloria (glory to God alone). ( thegospelcoalition )

     The last days shall be a very trying times for the  church as the Antichrist prepares to manifest himself fully before men. The devil will plant men in the church who will introduce destructive heresies in a bid to destroy the church of Jesus Christ. 

  Unfortunately for the devil and his cohorts, the church is indestructible, Jesus Christ said  in Matthew 16:18-19 'And I say also unto thee, ..  I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 

 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. "

  The church has been given keys to execute the power of attorney on earth on God's behalf  by the power of the Holy Ghost . 

  These keys are contained in the scriptures. That is why the devil is trying so hard to keep people away from the bible by portraying it as unreliable. This is being done through preachers whose hearts have been corrupted by the love of money ( 1Tim 6;3-6_ 2 Peter 2:1-3) 

  All teachings in the church must not contradict those of Jesus Christ as recorded by the early disciples and prophets of old.. The scriptures says in Ephesians 2:19-20 " Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;'. 

  The teachings on our healing in 1 Peter 2:24 lines up with Jesus teachings in Mathew 8 :17 and Isaiah 53:5 .and  holiness (Matt 15:18-20, 1Peter 1:15-16, Deut7:6) 

     We shall be judged for speaking words that do not stand with God's word . Such words are called 'idle words : (Matthew 12;36-37) 

  Preaching a gospel different from the message of  Salvation by grace through faith that works by love attracts a curse . Galatians 1:8 "]But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.'

Also Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.'

 THERE IS NOTHING TO BE AFRAID OF

"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”Joshua 1:9 NLTbible

   ‘Thus says the Lord : “Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me. Surely I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.” ’ ”II kings 19:6‭-‬7 NKJVbible. 

     Fear is the opposite of faith , it is Satan's weapon against God's people. Whenever we start listening to Satan's lies the more afraid we become. Truth cures fear while lies promotes it .The majority of what we watch , read , hear from today's media are sensationally designed to cause panic . Fear sells more in today's world than truth. That's why there is so much fear in the world. 

   God promises his people peace " The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace. Psalms 29:11 NKJV and the bible says " Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."John 14:27 NKJV

   The human face (especially the eyes) is an expression of the state of the heart .  You cannot truly hide hatred and fear , therefore, do not be afraid of the faces of the wicked. A man of faith is stronger than a wicked man full of fear .

"Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”

Ezekiel 3:9 NKJV . God likens you to a stone . Do not be afraid of people's faces (Jeremiah.1;8) God is bigger than your adversaries and he will keep you . 

  The bible says "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." I John 4:4 NKJVbible . You do not need a special ministry to receive power to confront your adversaries, the greater one and creator of hell lives in you (1John1;27) . He will bring hell upon them , that was what happened in 2King 19:6,7. God will keep you from harm. 

   He says "Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught."

Proverbs 3:25‭-‬26 NKJVBible 

   When you trust God , you do not need to fear anything . The Bible says " I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.

" Psalms 3:6 NKJV and " When you pass through the waters, I will  be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you."Isaiah 43:2 NKJVbible 

   Fear thrives where there is a lack of faith in God and his word( Mark4:40,Isaiah51:12-13)  Hatred ,malice ,bitterness results in fear (1Jn4:18) 

Fear is the consequence of disobedience to God's word  ,the bible says Deut 28:58,65-67 ..if you will not observe ...the Lord shall give you a trembling heart .."  Unrepentant sins generates overwhelming fears (Job 18:5,11; Isaiah48,22) . When a person keeps resisting the holy Spirit , it opens the door for demons which terrorises victims with fear ( 1Sam 15:23, 1Sam16:14,15) and when they turn to Jesus Christ in true repentance there is deliverance .

 THINGS THAT ARE FREELY GIVEN TO US

Sin is an incurable disease that results in deterioration of the life of it's victim . Man created in God's image to live forever but after Adam sinned , life expectancy began to drop Adam lived for nine hundred and thirty years and as sinned disease began to advance and mutate life expectancy further dropped to as low as 55.75 years in Nigeria according to the United Nations population prospects for the year 2023 . Sin makes a person think less of himself and it is transferred through the human bloodline from the first man Adam to all humans .

  Likewise , the free gift of salvation by grace , the Bible says in Romans 5:15-17 "But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

[16]And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the FREE GIFT is of many offences unto justification.

[17]For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

   It is strictly a blood thing , that is why seeking to be justified through religious washings is an exercise in futility ( Mark 7:6-7) Jesus Christ took upon himself the blood disease of the sins of humanity and it was drained out of his body on the cross as it is in the treatment of incurable blood diseases

  pierced (John19 :34)  There was an exchange of our sins for his righteousness (2Cor 5:17-21) 

  In a complete blood exchange, a new personality is formed as in the case of persons who received stem cell transplant . We are new creatures in Christ and its free. . 

We are reminded of this procedure during the Holy Communion ( Matthew 26:26-27, Heb 2;14-15, John 6:53) 

   Healing is free because of this free gift , the Bible says in Matthew 10:8  'Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. "

  Our justification before God is free ,no sacrifice is needed anymore , the Bible says in   Romans 3:24 ' Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:' and in  Romans 8:32 ' ,He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

   The anointing of God's favor is free , the Bible says in Revelation 21:6] "And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."

'Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."Luke 10:19 NKJVBible

   The battle between good and evil is ongoing with no break periods and there are no neutral grounds in this battlefield : a person is either on God's side or Satan's . “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.  So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."Revelation 3:15‭-‬16 NKJVBible

    An inactive Christian is as dangerous as the enemy , he or she is like a weapon that would not function in the battlefield . The believer is a light to a dark world . A light that refuses to illuminate a dark world is part of darkness  (Matt6;23)

    In our battle against the devil it is important to know that Satan is not as powerful as portrayed in many religious cycles . 

     Satan (Lucifer )is a creation of God " The Lord has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom."Proverbs 16:4 NKJV Bible. Jesus Christ ( The Word of God's power) is the creator of all things , Satan inclusive, the scripture says 

   " For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created  through Him and for Him. "Colossians 1:16 NKJVBible, (John 1:3) Angels were created with the ability to make choices . Satan was in heaven  as a cherub (Ezekiel 28:14,15)  and was removed when pride was found in him (Isaiah 14:12-15) those with pride are in danger of the same condemnation as the devil " not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil."I Timothy 3:6 NKJVBible. 

   The devil can only go as far as God permits . He is under God's restrictions and control . (Job1;6-12, 2:1-7) God controls every event in the world , nothing goes unnoticed ." ...That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.’ Daniel 4:17 NKJVBible

   Despite his Lordship over the earth God allows the devil to rule within limitations , he plays a role in the church in the execution of divine judgment  " deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus." I Corinthians 5:5 NKJVBible

    God's power is greater than Satan's (Luke10:18-19, Phi.2:9-11) and Jesus Christ defeated the Devil on our behalf through the Cross (Heb.2;14-15 ,1Jn3:8) 

   Jesus Christ has the power to cast out devils (Matt8:16, Matt12:28) and has given His disciples (us) power over demons too. The Bible says "And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease."Matthew 10:1 NKJVBible ( Luke9:1;Acts5:16) 

  Jesus Christ gives all believers power over the devil and his demons ,that includes you too "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast  out demons; ..Mark 16:17 NKJVBible. An example of a prayer to cast out a demons says " you demon causing drunkenness and depression be gone out of ( mention name of victim) in the name of Jesus Christ. Make sure the person is part of a bible believing church to avoid reprisal attacks . ( Matthew12:43-45)

HE GIVES STRENGTH TO THE WEAK

"He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless." Isaiah 40:29 NLTBible

    Thermodynamics is the branch of physical science that deals with the relations between heat and other forms of energy (such as mechanical,  chemical energy, electrical , potential ) and how they relate with each other.

The first law of thermodynamics says: the total quantity of energy in the universe remains constant. This is the principle of the conservation of energy .The second law of thermodynamics states : the quality of this energy is degraded irreversibly. This is the principle of the degradation of energy. This means the physical world and it's elements are in a process of deterioration . 
  This means naturally we would experience weaknesses , our bodies are made out of chemicals and are subject to aging and deterioration .
   The bible speaks of the deterioration of the world and its systems   "Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away." 1 Corinthians 7:31 NLTBible. This agrees with science and it is the consequence of Adam's sins in Eden.
   God is the source of life and the creator of energy therefore he has to be greater than energy  , he is the anointing and anointer . The anointing of the Holy Ghost is the source of strength for the believer in Jesus Christ.

   The bible says " But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord ; He  is their strength in the time of trouble." Psalms 37:39 NKJVBible we can be sure to go further, reach father because of the anointing of God's favour upon us.     Whenever you feel like giving up or you are overwhelmed ,you should ask the Lord for his strength and he will strengthen you .
   Dedicating regular time for prayer , fasting and studying scriptures while meditating ( waiting on the Lord)  increases strength . " But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."  Isaiah 40:31 NKJVBible

    Human strength is never sufficient to face life's challenges , we need power from within to overcome ." So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord .. ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts." Zechariah 4:6 NKJVBible

   The power to overcome  dwells within us and responds to our faith (2Cor4:7) therefore, we can say "  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 NKJVBible.

Prayer : Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Ghost and power to overcome the opposition in Jesus name.
