THE PREEMINENCE OF ECONOMIC INFLUENCE OVER POLITICAL INFLUENCE

In Matthew 25:21, Jesus illustrates a profound principle: economic success precedes political influence. The parable of the talents shows that the faithful and productive servants were rewarded with rulership—"I will make thee ruler over many things"—revealing that economic power often translates into governance. This principle remains true today: those who control resources shape political landscapes.

One of the greatest challenges facing the Church in Africa is poor governance, largely enabled by the weaponization of poverty. Politicians exploit economic desperation to manipulate elections through bribery, making integrity in leadership nearly impossible. Proverbs 22:7 states, “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” If the Church does not rise economically, it will remain politically powerless, subject to corrupt rulers who prey on financial vulnerability.

To counteract this, the Church must prioritize economic empowerment, particularly for those engaged in the electoral process. When citizens are financially stable, they become resistant to bribery, making electoral fraud and manipulation more difficult. Ecclesiastes 10:19 affirms, “Money answers everything,” underscoring that financial stability provides solutions to societal problems, including governance.

Righteous wealth in the hands of God-fearing individuals is essential for good governance (Psalm 112:3). Believers must commit to giving to the less privileged (Proverbs 19:17) to break the cycle of economic dependence on corrupt politicians. By fostering financial strength, Christians can establish righteous governance, ensuring that leadership aligns with biblical values. Only through economic dominion can we achieve sustainable political transformation.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and for wisdom for financial breakthrough in the church .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to get wealth .
