THE IMPORTANCE OF NATIONAL ORIENTATION IN PROMOTING GOOD GOVERNANCE AND THE ROLE OF GOSPEL TEACHERS

You shall not labour and someone else eats the fruits of your labour because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: THE IMPORTANCE OF NATIONAL ORIENTATION IN PROMOTING GOOD GOVERNANCE AND THE ROLE OF GOSPEL TEACHERS

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

National orientation plays a crucial role in promoting good governance by shaping the values, mindset, and behavior of citizens. A nation that upholds righteousness in governance fosters justice, equity, and prosperity. However, Satan, knowing the power of constant teaching of righteousness, seeks to frustrate teachers of the gospel by starving them of funds. As a result, many gospel teachers struggle to promote biblical principles through the media, leading to spiritual decline and national suffering.

Isaiah 5:13-14 states, “Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge; And their honorable men are famished, and their common people are parched with thirst. Therefore Sheol (the realm of the dead) has increased its appetite and opened its mouth beyond measure...” This highlights how the starvation of gospel teachers results in a lack of knowledge, causing people to fall into bondage and destruction.

The Macedonian church understood the necessity of supporting the gospel financially. In 2 Corinthians 8:1-5, they gave generously despite their poverty, ensuring that Paul’s ministry continued. Likewise, the Philippian church repeatedly supported Paul’s mission (Philippians 4:15-16).

Christians are commanded to support gospel teachers financially. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 instructs believers to set aside offerings for this purpose. Galatians 6:6 states, “Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches.” Supporting gospel teachers strengthens national orientation by eradicating spiritual poverty and promoting godly leadership.

Without financial support for righteous teachings, bad governance flourishes, and people suffer. The church must rise to fund the spread of truth, ensuring a nation governed by righteousness, justice, and the fear of God (Proverbs 29:2).

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and a heart for the promotion of the gospel through our finances .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to promote the gospel.
