LUST LEADS TO ENMITY WITH GOD

The anointing of God's favour is drawing you into a deeper walk with God .

Good -Life Devotional:

LUST LEADS TO ENMITY WITH GOD

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

James 4:1-3 AMP

[1] What leads to [the unending] quarrels and conflicts among you? Do they not come from your [hedonistic] desires that wage war in your [bodily] members [fighting for control over you]? [2] You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your lust goes unfulfilled; so you murder. You are envious and cannot obtain [the object of your envy]; so you fight and battle. You do not have because you do not ask [it of God]. [1 John 3:15] [3] You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives [out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic] desires."

James 4:1-4 warns against worldly desires that lead to conflict, stating that friendship with the world is enmity with God. This aligns with 1 John 2:15-17, which commands believers not to love the world’s sinful system. Jesus also taught that no one can serve two masters (Matthew 6:24).

James highlights that selfish desires cause strife (James 4:1), echoing Galatians 5:16-17, where Paul contrasts fleshly desires with the Spirit. When people seek pleasures rather than God, their prayers go unanswered (James 4:3), paralleling Psalm 66:18, which warns that harboring sin hinders prayer.

Calling the unfaithful "adulteresses" (James 4:4) reflects Hosea 4:12, where Israel’s unfaithfulness is likened to adultery. God's jealousy (Exodus 34:14) demands exclusive devotion. True peace comes from submission to God (James 4:7) and seeking His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

Thus, believers must resist worldly temptations and live in God’s will.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and a spirit of contentment.

PRAYER : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to live in contentment.

RAISED UP AND QUICKENED TOGETHER WITH JESUS CHRIST

You shall rise again regardless of how many times you fall because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: RAISED UP AND QUICKENED TOGETHER WITH JESUS CHRIST

Ephesians 2:6 (AMP) states, "And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus." The phrase "raised us up" is from the Greek word sugkathizō (συγκαθίζω), meaning "to cause to sit together." This conveys a present spiritual reality of believers sharing in Christ's victory and authority.

The preceding verse (Ephesians 2:5) uses "quickened" (syzōopoieō, συζωοποιέω), meaning "to make alive together," signifying regeneration through Christ (cf. Colossians 2:13).

This truth aligns with Romans 6:4-5, emphasizing that believers, united with Christ, partake in His resurrection life. Colossians 3:1-3 reinforces that we are spiritually positioned with Christ. Apologetically, this defends the believer’s security and divine inheritance, refuting works-based salvation. Our heavenly status is not future but present in Christ (John 17:22-23), demonstrating the transformative power of grace.

With this understanding you see it is not true when a false preacher says your destiny is buried or tied to something other than Christ . .

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and wisdom to walk in the revelation of the new creation in Christ.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to work miracles .

MADE NEAR THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

The anointing of God's favour is removing the obstacles hindering your breakthrough.

Good- Life Devotional: MADE NEAR THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Ephesians 2:12-15 addresses the reconciliation of Jews and Gentiles through Christ. Paul reminds the Gentiles that they were once "without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world" (v.12). However, through Christ, they are now "made nigh by the blood of Christ" (v.13).

The Greek word for "nigh" in verse 13 is ἐγγύς (engys), meaning "near" or "brought close." This implies not only spatial nearness but also relational intimacy with God, made possible by Christ's atoning work.

Paul continues in verse 14, stating that Christ "is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us." This refers to the separation between Jews and Gentiles, symbolized by the temple’s dividing wall. Through His sacrifice, Christ abolished the enmity caused by the Law’s ordinances, uniting believers into one new man (v.15).

Other supporting verses include:

Isaiah 57:19 – "Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near."

Colossians 1:20-22 – Christ reconciled all through His blood.

Romans 5:10 – We were reconciled to God through Christ’s death.

This passage is a profound defense of salvation by grace, showing that Christ's work brings all people into fellowship with God, fulfilling God's redemptive plan.

You do not need to go to any physical  location or engage in any spiritual sacrifice to be close to God .Religion promotes hatred for God . We need to be born again into Christ  consciousness. He is in the believer's heart .

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and consciousness of his abiding presence.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to work miracles.

JESUS CHRIST: THE GREAT STABILIZER IN TURBULENT TIMES

What was meant to destroy you will increase your greatness because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:  JESUS CHRIST: THE GREAT STABILIZER IN TURBULENT TIMES

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Life often brings seasons of turbulence—uncertainties, trials, and storms that shake our faith. Yet, Jesus Christ remains our steadfast anchor, the great stabilizer who secures us even when the waves of life rage around us.

In Matthew 14:25-32, Peter walked on water toward Jesus, but when he shifted his focus from the Lord to the storm, he began to sink. However, Jesus did not immediately calm the storm. Instead, He rescued Peter in the midst of it, demonstrating that true security is not found in circumstances but in unwavering trust in Christ. This teaches us that peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of Jesus.

Similarly, the Macedonian church (2 Corinthians 8:1-5) exemplified stability in crisis. Though experiencing deep poverty and affliction, they remained joyful and generous, giving themselves first to the Lord and then to the work of the Gospel. Their faith was not shaken by hardship, proving that stability in Christ produces resilience and sacrificial love even in difficult times.

James 1:2-3 reminds us to “consider it nothing but joy…when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” Trials refine our faith and deepen our dependence on God.

Jesus does not always remove the storm, but He strengthens us to walk through it. When life becomes uncertain, keep your eyes on Him, trust in His promises (Isaiah 41:10, John 16:33), and stand firm in faith—He will uphold you!

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and great faith in the midst of crisis.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to make great progress.

WHEN GOD HARDEN''S A MAN'S HEART: AN ACT OF JUDICIAL JUDGEMENT ( PART 1)

Good -Life  Devotional:

WHEN GOD HARDEN''S A MAN'S HEART: AN ACT OF JUDICIAL JUDGEMENT ( PART 1)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

The Bible records multiple instances of Pharaoh's heart being hardened during the events of the Exodus. The hardening of Pharaoh's heart is attributed both to Pharaoh himself and to God. Here’s a breakdown:

1. PHARAOH HARDENED HIS OWN HEART:

Exodus 7:13 – Yet Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

Exodus 7:22 – But the magicians of Egypt did the same with their secret arts, and Pharaoh's heart was hardened.

Exodus 8:15 – But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and did not listen to them.

Exodus 8:32 – But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he did not let the people go.

Exodus 9:34 – But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned again and hardened his heart.

2. GOD HARDENED PHARAOH’S HEART:

Exodus 9:12 – But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not listen to them.

Exodus 10:1 – Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants.”

Exodus 10:20 – But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the sons of Israel go.

Exodus 10:27 – But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was not willing to let them go.

Exodus 11:10 – Yet Pharaoh’s heart was hardened by the Lord, and he did not let the people of Israel go.

Exodus 14:8 – The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he chased after the sons of Israel.

SUMMARY OF THE HARDENING OF PHARAOH’S HEART:

Pharaoh hardened his own heart: About 5 times

God hardened Pharaoh’s heart: About 6 times

THEOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

Pharaoh initially hardened his own heart in defiance of God. Later, God judicially hardened Pharaoh’s heart as an act of divine judgment, solidifying his resistance. This demonstrates both human responsibility and divine sovereignty. Paul references this in Romans 9:17-18, emphasizing that God has the authority to show mercy and to harden whom He chooses.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and a heart that easily yields to the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach the gospel.

WHEN GOD HARDENS A MAN'S HEART: AN ACT OF JUDICIAL JUDGEMENT ( PART2)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Theological Implications of God Hardening Pharaoh’s Heart

The hardening of Pharaoh’s heart raises deep theological questions about God's sovereignty, human free will, and divine justice. Below are key themes that help us understand its significance.

1. HUMAN RESPONSIBILITY VS. DIVINE SOVEREIGNTY

At first, Pharaoh hardened his own heart (Exodus 8:15, 32; 9:34), showing that he was responsible for his rejection of God’s command. However, later, God hardened Pharaoh’s heart (Exodus 9:12, 10:20, 11:10, 14:8), demonstrating His sovereign control over events.

Pharaoh was morally responsible – He freely resisted God’s will before God actively hardened him.

GOD’S JUDICIAL HARDENING – When Pharaoh continually rejected God, God confirmed his decision, using it to fulfill His purposes (see Romans 1:24-28).

This shows that God does not harden someone arbitrarily; rather, He gives them over to their own stubbornness when they persist in rebellion.

2. HARDENING AS DIVINE JUDGMENT

In Exodus 4:21, God told Moses in advance that He would harden Pharaoh’s heart. This suggests that the hardening was not arbitrary but part of a greater plan.

God’s patience was demonstrated – Pharaoh had multiple opportunities to repent but refused.

Hardening was an act of judgment – Since Pharaoh resisted God, the hardening sealed him in his rebellion.

Paul explains this principle in Romans 9:17-18, quoting Exodus:

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “I raised you up for this very purpose, to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the earth.” So then, He has mercy on whom He wills, and He hardens whom He wills. (AMP)

This illustrates that God's hardening serves a larger purpose—to reveal His power and justice.

3. THE PURPOSE: DISPLAYING GOD’S GLORY

In Exodus 9:16, God declares that He raised up Pharaoh to display His power and make His name known. The plagues and Pharaoh’s resistance magnified God’s supremacy over Egypt’s gods.

GOD’S POWER OVER EGYPT – The plagues systematically dismantled Egypt’s religious system, proving Yahweh was the true God.

TESTIMONY TO THE NATIONS – Rahab in Joshua 2:10-11 later testifies that the people of Canaan heard about God’s wonders in Egypt and feared Him.

FORESHADOWING OF GOD’S GREATER REDEMPTION – The Exodus foreshadows Christ’s ultimate victory over sin and oppression.

4. THE HARDENING OF HEARTS IN OTHER BIBLICAL CONTEXTS

The concept of hardening is not unique to Pharaoh. It appears elsewhere:

ISRAEL’S HARDENING – In Isaiah 6:9-10, God tells the prophet that Israel’s heart would be hardened as a judgment for their rebellion. Jesus later applies this to the Pharisees (Matthew 13:14-15).

GENTILES in Romans 1 – Paul describes how those who suppress the truth are given over to their own sin (Romans 1:24-28).

THE ANTICHRIST’S FOLLOWERS – In 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12, God allows people who reject the truth to be deceived.

In each case, hardening follows a pattern: persistent rebellion → divine judgment → inability to repent.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and humility to serve .

PRAYER; Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome temptation.

5. DOES GOD HARDEN HEARTS TODAY?

Yes, in the sense that when people continually reject God, He may allow them to be further blinded in their unbelief (Romans 1:24-28). However, Scripture also teaches that God desires all to repent (2 Peter 3:9).

THOSE WHO REJECT GOD RISK HAVING THEIR HEARTS HARDENED.

Those who seek God with humility can receive His mercy.

The key takeaway is that God's hardening is not random but a response to persistent rebellion.

THE BALANCE BETWEEN MERCY AND JUDGMENT

Pharaoh’s story demonstrates both God’s mercy and His justice.

God gave Pharaoh opportunities to repent – Pharaoh repeatedly hardened his own heart.

God then confirmed Pharaoh’s choice – Hardening became a form of divine judgment.

God’s purpose was to glorify Himself – The Exodus became a testimony of God’s power and deliverance.

This account teaches us to respond to God’s truth with humility and not resist Him, lest we, too, experience the danger of a hardened heart.

Jesus' Teachings on Hardened Hearts and God's Sovereignty

Jesus frequently spoke about hardened hearts, connecting it to unbelief, divine judgment, and the necessity of repentance. His teachings align with Pharaoh’s story and expand on the theme of how people respond to God's truth.

1. THE PHARISEES: A NEW PHARAOH?

Just as Pharaoh resisted God despite witnessing miracles, the Pharisees saw Jesus' signs but still rejected Him. Jesus confronted their hardness of heart:

Mark 3:5 – After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was [fully] restored.

John 12:37-40 – Even though He had performed so many signs before them, they still were not believing in Him… “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they would not see… nor understand with their heart, and turn to Me.”

This parallels Pharaoh’s situation: repeated rejection led to judicial hardening.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and a heart that accepts correction .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to heal the sick .

PARABLES AS A FORM OF HARDENING part 4

The curse of poverty and stagnation is broken because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: PARABLES AS A FORM OF HARDENING part 5

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Jesus taught in parables not just to reveal truth but also to conceal it from those who refused to believe:

Matthew 13:13-15 – “Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.”

This echoes Isaiah 6:9-10, where God declared Israel’s heart would be hardened due to their rebellion. The parables were a form of judgment: truth was hidden from those who had already rejected it.

3. THE DISCIPLES' STRUGGLE WITH HARD HEARTS

Even Jesus' own disciples struggled with hardness of heart, though theirs was temporary:

Mark 6:52 – For they had not understood about the loaves [miracle of feeding the 5,000] because their heart was hardened.

Mark 8:17-18 – “Do you still not understand? Do you have a hardened heart? Having eyes, do you not see?”

Unlike Pharaoh, the disciples’ hearts were softened through their relationship with Christ. This shows that hardness of heart can be reversed through faith and revelation.

4. THE DANGER OF PERSISTENT UNBELIEF

Jesus warned that persistent unbelief leads to irreversible hardness, just like Pharaoh.p

John 8:43-44 – “Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. You are of your father the devil.”

John 12:39-40 – “For this reason they could not believe, because Isaiah said: ‘He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart.’”

The Pharisees had so persistently rejected Jesus that their hearts were beyond softening. This aligns with Paul’s warning

Romans 1:28 – “And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind.”

Unbelief can reach a point where repentance is no longer possible—a terrifying warning to those who continually reject God.

5. THE WAY TO AVOID A HARDENED HEART: HUMILITY AND FAITH

While Pharaoh and the Pharisees were hardened due to rebellion, Jesus offered the remedy:

Matthew 11:25 – “You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have reveled them to infants.”

Hebrews 3:15 – “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”

The key is to respond to God's truth with humility. Those who acknowledge their need for God will receive mercy, while those who persist in rejection may eventually be hardened beyond return.

Conclusion: Pharaoh, the Pharisees, and Us

Pharaoh resisted God and was hardened as judgment.

The Pharisees saw Jesus’ miracles but still rejected Him, leading to their hardening.

Jesus warned that persistent unbelief leads to blindness and separation from God.

The disciples had temporary hardness but were restored through faith.

The ultimate message? Respond to God while your heart is still soft. The longer we resist, the closer we come to being like Pharaoh—hardened beyond return.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and zeal for his house .

WHEN GOD HARDENS A MAN'S HEART AN ACT OF JUDICIAL JUDGEMENT (PART 5)

You shall not be overwhelmed by crisis but greatly strengthened  because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: WHEN GOD HARDENS A MAN'S HEART AN ACT OF JUDICIAL JUDGEMENT (PART 5)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

PRACTICAL APPLICATION: GUARDING AGAINST A HARDENED HEART

The Bible warns that a hardened heart leads to spiritual blindness, rebellion, and ultimately separation from God. Pharaoh, the Pharisees, and even Jesus' disciples at times struggled with hardness of heart. So how can we ensure that we remain receptive to God?

1. RECOGNIZING THE SIGNS OF A HARDENED HEART

A hardened heart does not happen overnight. It is a gradual process that results from resisting God’s truth. Here are some warning signs:

RESISTANCE TO CONVICTION – When we ignore the Holy Spirit’s prompting, we start becoming numb to sin (Ephesians 4:18-19).

LACK OF REPENTANCE – A hardened heart refuses to acknowledge sin and turn to God (Romans 2:5).

DIMINISHED LOVE FOR GOD’S WORD – If we no longer hunger for Scripture, our hearts may be growing cold (Hebrews 5:11-12).

PRIDE AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY – Pharaoh’s downfall was his pride; humility keeps our hearts soft (James 4:6).

UNBELIEF AND DOUBT – The Pharisees saw Jesus’ miracles but refused to believe (John 12:37-40).

If we notice these signs, we must take action before our hearts grow even harder.

2. HOW TO KEEP A SOFT HEART TOWARD GOD

A. DAILY SURRENDER AND REPENTANCE

Psalm 139:23-24 – “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Daily confession keeps our hearts sensitive to God’s voice (1 John 1:9).

Ask God to reveal any areas of resistance in your heart.

B. HUMILITY BEFORE GOD

Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Pharaoh’s pride led to his hardening. We must cultivate humility and dependence on God.

C. OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD

Hebrews 3:15 – “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”

When we hear God's Word, we must respond immediately. Delayed obedience can lead to resistance.

D. STAY CONNECTED TO CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

Hebrews 3:13 – “Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today,’ so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”

Being around other believers helps keep our hearts accountable and responsive.

E. CULTIVATE A SOFT HEART THROUGH WORSHIP AND PRAYER

Worship refocuses our hearts on God and keeps them tender.

Ezekiel 36:26 – “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

Ask God to give you a heart that is receptive to His leading.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and sensitivity to the leading of his Spirit.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to destroy the works of satan .

WHEN GOD HARDENS A MAN'S HEART AS AN ACT OF JUDICIAL JUDGEMENT ( Part 6)

Your tears of sorrow shall soon be turned into tears of joy because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good-Life Devotional: WHEN GOD HARDENS A MAN'S HEART AS AN ACT OF JUDICIAL JUDGEMENT ( Part 6)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

WHAT IF SOMEONE HAS ALREADY HARDENED THEIR HEART?

Some people worry that they or a loved one may have become permanently hardened like Pharaoh. Here’s what Scripture says:

GOD IS PATIENT AND MERCIFUL – “The Lord is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

There is still hope while a person is alive – “Whoever comes to Me I will never cast out” (John 6:37).

PRAYER CAN SOFTEN HARDENED HEARTS – “I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord” (Jeremiah 24:7).

However, persistent rejection of God can lead to irreversible hardness (Romans 1:28, Hebrews 6:4-6). That’s why the Bible repeatedly warns, "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts."

Conclusion: Keep Your Heart Soft Before God.

PHARAOH’S HARDENED HEART WAS HIS DOWNFALL.

The Pharisees rejected Jesus, leading to their spiritual blindness.

Jesus’ disciples struggled with hard hearts at times but were restored through faith.

We must actively guard against hardness through repentance, humility, obedience, and staying close to God.

FINAL REFLECTION:

What areas of your life do you need to surrender to God today?

Practical Ways to Keep Your Heart Soft Toward God in Daily Life

It's one thing to know about hardening our hearts, but how do we actively live in a way that keeps our hearts tender and responsive to God? Below are practical steps you can take daily.

1. DAILY SELF-EXAMINATION AND REPENTANCE

Set aside time each day to ask God, "Is there any area where I am resisting You?"

Psalm 139:23-24 – "Search me, O God, and know my heart… See if there is any offensive way in me."

Be honest with yourself—are there sins you’ve been excusing or avoiding?

Practical Tip:

Keep a journal to write down anything God reveals to you.

Repent and ask for God’s grace to change.

2. STAY HUMBLE AND TEACHABLE

Hard hearts often come from pride or thinking we "know better" than God.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding."

Allow God to correct you through His Word, prayer, or even other people

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and a heart that is willing to be corrected whenever necessary.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to live in holiness.

THE SACRIFICE OF THE LORD: A BROKEN HEART AND A CONTRITE SPIRIT

You shall enjoy unlimited provisions regardless of the economy because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: THE SACRIFICE OF THE LORD: A BROKEN HEART AND A CONTRITE SPIRIT

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

True sacrifice before the Lord is not found in material offerings alone but in a heart that is broken and contrite. David declares in Psalm 51:17, “My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart [broken with sorrow for sin, thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise” (AMP). Similarly, Psalm 34:18 assures us, “The Lord is near to the heartbroken and He saves those who are crushed in spirit [contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin]” (AMP).

The Hebrew word for broken (שָׁבַר, shabar) means shattered, crushed, or completely broken down, while contrite (דָּכָא, dakah) signifies being crushed or deeply humbled. These words convey the idea of a heart that is broken before God, acknowledging sin, dependence, and a deep need for His grace.

When we give offerings—whether financial, time, or resources—it is a means of cultivating this spirit of brokenness. Giving requires humility, dependence on God, and recognition that all we have is from Him. The proud struggle with generosity, especially in supporting missions, because their self-sufficiency blinds them to their need for God’s grace.

However, God promises to revive the contrite heart. Isaiah 57:15 declares, “I dwell on the high and holy place, but also with the contrite and humble in spirit in order to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite [overcome with sorrow for sin]” (AMP). True revival and nearness to God come when we embrace the sacrifice He desires—a broken heart and a contrite spirit.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and a heart that is responsive to his commands .

THE CORRELATION BETWEEN PRAYER AND RELATIONSHIPS

Your family shall not fall apart but wax strong in love and overwhelming peace because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

THE CORRELATION BETWEEN PRAYER AND RELATIONSHIPS

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Prayer and relationships are deeply interconnected, as both require commitment, sincerity, and a heart aligned with God’s will. Jesus emphasized this connection in Mark 11:25 (AMP):

"Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions and wrongdoings."

This verse highlights that prayer is not merely about speaking to God but also about maintaining a heart free from bitterness and resentment. If our relationship with God is hindered by unforgiveness, it naturally affects our relationships with others. A person who struggles to forgive in prayer will likely struggle to forgive in personal relationships.

Similarly, Matthew 15:8 (AMP) warns against superficial worship:

"These people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me."

Just as empty worship reflects a distant relationship with God, a lack of sincerity in prayer often mirrors a lack of depth in human relationships. If one’s approach to God is shallow, self-seeking, or routine, their relationships may follow the same pattern—marked by a lack of true connection and commitment.

You cannot fully commit to a relationship with others if you have not learned to commit to a relationship with God. Genuine worship and prayer cultivate a heart of love, patience, and forgiveness, which are the same qualities needed for healthy relationships. Strengthening your relationship with God will naturally transform how you relate to others.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and forgiveness for those who have hurt us.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to forgive .

THE GENERATION THAT DOES NOT KNOW GOD

The spoilers of your prosperity shall be arrested because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: THE GENERATION THAT DOES NOT KNOW GOD

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Judges 2:10-14 describes a tragic cycle in Israel’s history. After Joshua’s generation passed away, a new generation arose that did not know the Lord or His works. Instead of following God’s commands, they turned to idol worship, provoking the Lord’s anger. This downfall happened because their parents failed to teach them God’s laws, as commanded in Deuteronomy 6:7.

Similarly, today’s Christian families are facing a spiritual crisis. Many parents reject biblical ethics and rebel against their pastors, setting a poor example for their children. As a result, children grow up without a solid foundation in the faith. Instead of worshiping God, they idolize materialism, wealth, and worldly success—forms of modern-day idolatry. Colossians 3:5 warns that covetousness is idolatry, and when materialism replaces spirituality, the consequences are devastating.

Idol worship opens doors to destruction. In Judges, God allowed spoilers to oppress Israel because of their rebellion. Today, we see similar consequences—families are breaking apart, crime is increasing, and society is crumbling due to a generation that does not know God. Without biblical values, children lack moral direction, leading to widespread societal decay.

However, there is hope. Hosea 6:1 calls us to return to the Lord, promising that He will heal and restore us. Parents must take responsibility to teach their children about Christ, fostering a home filled with the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. Only by turning back to God can we raise a generation that truly knows and follows Him.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word for our families and unity in the faith.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome idol worship.

A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT

You shall continue to make great progress regardless of the situation because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:

A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Proverbs 14:12 (AMP) warns, "There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but its end is the way of death." This verse highlights the danger of human reasoning apart from God's wisdom. Many times, people act based on their own understanding, assuming they are making the right choices, only to find that their decisions lead to destruction.

A clear example is found in 2 Samuel 6:6-7. As King David brought the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem, the oxen stumbled, and Uzzah instinctively reached out to steady the Ark. However, God struck him dead instantly. While Uzzah’s action may have seemed reasonable, it directly violated God's command that only the Levites were to handle the Ark (Numbers 4:15). Uzzah’s error was not merely touching the Ark, but presuming that he could help God and act outside divine instructions.

It is against this backdrop that David later prayed in Psalm 19:13, "Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not rule over me." Presumptuous sins stem from pride—acting independently of God's guidance. Scripture warns that "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18). God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).

Instead of relying on our own wisdom, we must seek humility and submit to God's instructions. True wisdom comes from reverence for the Lord (Proverbs 9:10), and only by walking in humility can we avoid the deadly path of self-reliance.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and humility to serve in his vineyard .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome the deception of the enemy.

YOU SHALL BE ESTABLISHED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, FAR FROM OPPRESSION

You shall be far from oppression because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: YOU SHALL BE ESTABLISHED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, FAR FROM OPPRESSION

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi.

Isaiah 54:14 declares, “You will be firmly established in righteousness; You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; and from terror, for it will not come near you.” (AMP). This verse reassures believers that God’s righteousness establishes them, granting security from oppression and fear.

This prophecy finds fulfillment in Christ. Romans 5:1 states, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” True righteousness comes through faith in Jesus, freeing believers from condemnation (Romans 8:1). Isaiah’s promise is not merely national but spiritual, as Jesus said, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).

The phrase “You will be far from oppression” echoes Psalm 91:5-7, which assures that those who dwell in God’s presence need not fear terror. The ultimate fulfillment is in the New Covenant, where Christ’s righteousness shields believers from eternal judgment (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Some may argue this promise was only for Israel, but Galatians 3:29 clarifies, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise.” This verse extends Isaiah’s assurance to all who trust in Jesus.

Thus, Isaiah 54:14 is a foundation for divine security through Christ. True peace is found not in worldly circumstances but in God’s righteousness, which delivers believers from fear, oppression, and ultimate judgment.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and courage to rise up against oppression .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to live in righteousness.

CHRISTIANS: DEFENDERS OF THE CONSTITUTION

The stronghold of the oppressor shall be broken because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: CHRISTIANS: DEFENDERS OF THE CONSTITUTION

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Psalm 37:30 declares, "The mouth of the righteous proclaims wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice." The word “judgment” in Hebrew is “mishpat” (מִשְׁפָּט), meaning justice, ordinance, or rightful decision. This aligns with the purpose of a nation's constitution—to establish laws that uphold justice, equality, and fairness for all citizens.

Christians have a biblical mandate to ensure governance reflects righteousness and justice. The Old Testament showcases figures like Daniel, Joseph, and Mordecai, who played crucial roles in shaping laws that protected God's people. Joseph implemented policies in Egypt to preserve life (Genesis 41:33-40), Daniel influenced Babylonian leadership with wisdom (Daniel 6:3-5), and Mordecai guided laws that safeguarded the Jews (Esther 8:7-8).

The New Testament church also structured governance to promote justice. Acts 6:1-7 describes the appointment of deacons to ensure fair distribution of resources, preventing discrimination. Paul instructs believers to advocate for righteousness in leadership, stating, “Let everything be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40). Proverbs 29:2 reminds us, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.”

Christians today should engage in constitution drafting, ensuring laws protect all citizens and prevent oppression (Micah 6:8). Biblical governance upholds fairness, and believers are called to be defenders of justice, influencing policies that reflect God’s wisdom. As Isaiah 1:17 exhorts, “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.”

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness to defend the constitution.

PRAYER : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome oppression.

ECCLESIASTICAL INFLUENCE OF PREACHERS ON POLITICAL LEADERSHIP ( PART 1)

The plans of the wicked shall backfire because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: ECCLESIASTICAL INFLUENCE OF PREACHERS ON POLITICAL LEADERSHIP ( PART 1)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

The influence of godly preachers on political leadership is a recurring theme in biblical history. Prophets like Samuel, Nathan, and Moses played crucial roles in guiding, rebuking, and instructing leaders according to God’s will. Their influence extended beyond just spiritual matters—they shaped national policies, ensured justice, and held rulers accountable before God.

1. SAMUEL – THE KINGMAKER AND NATIONAL REFORMER

Samuel was both a prophet and a judge, serving as a bridge between the period of the judges and the monarchy. His influence over Israel’s leadership is evident in several ways:

APPOINTING AND ANOINTING KINGS – Samuel anointed Saul as Israel’s first king (1 Samuel 10:1) and later David (1 Samuel 16:13). His role as a prophet ensured that Israel's leaders were chosen by divine will, not mere human ambition.

REBUKING LEADERSHIP – When Saul disobeyed God, Samuel confronted him and declared that his kingdom would not endure (1 Samuel 13:13-14). This showed that no ruler was above God’s law.

CALLING THE NATION TO RIGHTEOUSNESS – Samuel led national gatherings for repentance and renewal, such as at Mizpah (1 Samuel 7:3-6). This demonstrates the preacher’s role in shaping not just kings but also the moral compass of a nation.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and righteous leadership in governance.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach the gospel.

ECCLESIASTICAL INFLUENCE OF PREACHERS ON POLITICAL LEADERSHIP ( Part 2 )

The anointing of God's favour is connecting you with the right persons needed for your success .

Good -Life Devotional: ECCLESIASTICAL INFLUENCE OF PREACHERS ON POLITICAL LEADERSHIP ( Part 2 )

2. NATHAN – THE FEARLESS COUNSELOR TO KINGS

Nathan exemplifies how godly preachers should hold leaders accountable to divine principles. His influence is particularly evident in the life of King David:

CONFRONTING SIN IN HIGH PLACES – When David committed adultery with Bathsheba and arranged Uriah’s death, Nathan courageously rebuked him using a parable (2 Samuel 12:1-7). This forced David to acknowledge his sin and repent.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF THE KINGDOM – Nathan played a key role in ensuring Solomon’s succession to the throne (1 Kings 1:11-40). His intervention prevented Adonijah’s attempt to usurp power, showing that godly influence can guide political transitions.

3. MOSES – THE LAWGIVER WHO SHAPED NATIONAL IDENTITY

Moses was not just a prophet but also a leader who established governance rooted in God’s commands:

DELIVERING GOD’S LAW – Moses provided Israel with divine statutes that became the foundation of their national life (Exodus 20; Deuteronomy 5). His role demonstrates that a godly preacher does not just inspire but also establishes righteous governance.

INTERCEDING FOR LEADERS AND PEOPLE – Multiple times, Moses pleaded with God for the nation when they sinned (Exodus 32:11-14, Numbers 14:13-20). His priestly role highlights the spiritual responsibility of preachers toward national well-being.

DELEGATING LEADERSHIP WITH WISDOM – Moses implemented a system of governance by appointing wise judges (Exodus 18:17-26), showing that godly leadership should be structured and just.

THE ROLE OF GODLY PREACHERS TODAY

Preachers who follow these biblical examples can significantly shape leadership and the moral foundation of a nation. They instill integrity in political leaders and cultivate the fear of God in the populace, ensuring that righteousness exalts a nation (Proverbs 14:34). Whether through direct counsel, public rebuke, or intercession, their role remains crucial in guiding societies toward justice and godliness.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness to correct leaders with respect when they err.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to speak against bad governance.

THE FOUR CONSEQUENCES OF LEADERSHIP'S DISREGARD FOR THE CONSTITUTION: A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE ( Part 1)

The anointing of God's favour is opening doors for you in high places for righteous influence.

THE FOUR CONSEQUENCES OF LEADERSHIP'S DISREGARD FOR THE CONSTITUTION: A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE ( Part 1)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

The role of leadership in upholding the law is paramount in any nation. When those in power disregard foundational legal principles, such as a nation's constitution, the consequences can be dire. Scripture provides warnings about the judgment that befalls a people when their leaders forsake justice and righteousness. Ezekiel 14:21 serves as a powerful passage that illustrates divine judgment:

"For thus says the Lord God: 'How much more when I send My four severe judgments against Jerusalem—sword, famine, wild beasts, and plague—to cut off man and beast from it?'" (Ezekiel 14:21, AMP)

These four judgments—sword, famine, wild beasts, and plague (pestilence)—carry significant meaning, not only for ancient Israel but also as a warning to nations today. The Hebrew words used in this passage provide deeper insight into the severity of these consequences.

1. THE SWORD (חֶרֶב – Chereb): THE CONSEQUENCE OF VIOLENCE AND CONFLICT

The Hebrew word "chereb" refers to a literal sword but also symbolizes war, conflict, and national unrest. When leadership disregards the constitution, lawlessness often increases, leading to internal strife and, ultimately, civil unrest or even external conflicts.

Biblical Parallel:

Jeremiah 50:35 – "A sword is against the Chaldeans,’ declares the Lord, ‘And against the inhabitants of Babylon...’" (AMP)

Matthew 26:52 – "Then Jesus said to him, ‘Put your sword back in its place, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.’" (AMP)

A nation whose leadership disregards justice often falls into political turmoil, division, and violence, fulfilling the judgment of the sword.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and good governance at every level leadership.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to promote good governance.

Good-Life Devotional: THE FOUR CONSEQUENCES OF LEADERSHIP'S DISREGARD FOR THE CONSTITUTION: A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE. ( PART 2)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

2. PESTILENCE (דֶּבֶר – Deber): THE CONSEQUENCE OF NATIONAL SICKNESS

The Hebrew word "deber" means plague, disease, or pestilence. It signifies widespread sickness that afflicts a people when corruption reigns and justice is abandoned. This can be literal, such as the outbreak of diseases due to failed governance, or symbolic, representing moral and spiritual decay.

Biblical Parallel:

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 – "If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray... then I will hear from heaven..." (AMP)

Psalm 91:3 – "For He will save you from the trap of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence." (AMP)

When leadership disregards righteousness, the nation may face physical disease, moral corruption, and societal decay, bringing the judgment of pestilence.

3. FAMINE (רָעָב – Ra’av): THE CONSEQUENCE OF ECONOMIC COLLAPSE

The Hebrew word "ra’av" means hunger, starvation, and scarcity. Famine is often the result of poor leadership, corruption, and economic mismanagement. Leaders who violate constitutional principles frequently create systems that oppress the people, leading to economic instability.

Biblical Parallel:

 2 Samuel 21:1

"Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.'

In Genesis 41:54-55 – During Joseph’s time in Egypt, famine struck because of divine judgment, but wise leadership prepared for it.

When leadership is corrupt, resources are mismanaged, economic disparity grows, and a nation may experience literal or spiritual famine.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and good governance in our nations .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to heal the sick .

Good -Life Devotional: Good-Life Devotional: THE FOUR CONSEQUENCES OF LEADERSHIP'S DISREGARD FOR THE CONSTITUTION: A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE (Part 3)

4. WILD BEASTS (חַיָּה – Chayyah): THE CONSEQUENCE OF CHAOS AND UNRESTRAINED DESTRUCTION

The Hebrew word "chayyah" refers to wild animals but also symbolizes destructive forces unleashed upon a nation. In biblical times, when a land was desolate due to war or famine, wild beasts would multiply and become a threat. Metaphorically, it can represent lawlessness, anarchy, and uncontrollable forces that arise when leadership is absent or Terrorism and kidnapping becomes rampant.

Biblical Parallel:

Leviticus 26:22 – "I will send wild animals among you, and they will rob you of your children, destroy your cattle, and make you few in number..." (AMP)

Daniel 7:3-7 – Various beasts represent corrupt kingdoms that devour and oppress people.

When leaders abandon justice, criminals, gangs, and evil forces take control, making society unsafe. This can also represent spiritual forces of darkness overtaking a nation.

CONCLUSION: A CALL TO RIGHTEOUS LEADERSHIP

The four judgments of Ezekiel 14:21—sword, pestilence, famine, and wild beasts—serve as divine warnings for nations where leadership disregards justice, the constitution, and righteousness. These judgments are not only historical but continue to manifest in modern societies where corruption, lawlessness, and moral decay prevail.

The Bible calls leaders to uphold justice and righteousness:

Proverbs 29:2 – "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan."

Isaiah 1:23-26 – God condemns leaders who are corrupt and promises to restore just leadership.

A nation that returns to God, upholds righteous laws, and maintains justice can avoid these judgments. Leaders must seek wisdom, integrity, and submission to God’s moral law to secure the future of their people.

"Righteousness [moral and spiritual integrity and virtuous character] exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." (Proverbs 14:34, AMP

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness to press for good governance.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome evil manipulations.

WHEN PREACHERS AND POLITICAL LEADERS FAIL GOD

You shall not be completely cast down despite your shortcomings because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: WHEN PREACHERS AND POLITICAL LEADERS FAIL GOD

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

When those entrusted with spiritual and political leadership fail God, His purposes do not falter. Scripture makes clear that God remains sovereign over the affairs of men. Isaiah 63:5 declares, “I looked, but there was no one to help, and I was amazed that there was no one to uphold [truth and right]; so My own arm brought salvation to Me.” Even when leaders abandon righteousness, God steps in to fulfill His will.

Isaiah 32:1-6 warns of a time when fools are exalted and leaders fail in wisdom and integrity. Yet it opens with a promise: “A king will reign in righteousness and princes will rule with justice.” This foreshadows the rule of Christ, the ultimate righteous leader. When human systems collapse, God is never caught off guard.

History affirms this truth. Eli and his sons, Hophni and Phinehas, corrupted the priesthood with immorality (1 Samuel 2:12-17). But God had already prepared Samuel, a faithful child who would hear His voice (1 Samuel 3:1-10). When Saul, Israel’s first king, disobeyed God, He chose David, a humble shepherd boy, to lead with a heart after Him (1 Samuel 13:14).

Daniel 4:17 reminds us, “The Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will.” No failure by man can thwart God's eternal plan. His sovereignty ensures that even in human weakness, His will prevails. God does not abandon His people—He raises up new vessels to carry out His divine agenda.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and for his will to be done in our countries.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome depression.

ACHIEVING AN EFFECTIVE ELECTORAL PROCESS IN A CORRUPT SYSTEM

You shall not be stranded and abandoned because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: ACHIEVING AN EFFECTIVE ELECTORAL PROCESS IN A CORRUPT SYSTEM

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Corruption in systems of governance often undermines fairness, justice, and equity. However, Scripture provides wisdom for reform, even in flawed contexts. In Acts 6:1-7, the early church faced internal corruption—specifically, the neglect of the Hellenistic widows in the daily distribution of food. This partiality, a form of nepotism, threatened unity. The apostles responded not with denial or force, but with a Spirit-led solution: they initiated an electoral process. “Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom” (Acts 6:3, AMP). This method emphasized character over connections.

Key lessons emerge here for navigating corrupt systems. First, transparency: the apostles allowed the people to participate in selecting leaders, curbing favoritism. Second, qualifications: spiritual maturity and wisdom, not wealth or influence, were the criteria. Third, delegation: those chosen were empowered to serve, and the apostles maintained focus on prayer and the Word. As a result, “the word of God continued to spread; the number of disciples increased greatly” (Acts 6:7).

Proverbs 29:2 reinforces this: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice…” Likewise, Deuteronomy 16:19 warns against perverting justice or showing partiality. Even within a corrupt system, integrity and godly leadership can bring renewal.

To achieve an effective electoral process, communities must prioritize righteousness, collective participation, and Spirit-led discernment—transforming corrupt systems from within, just as the early church did.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness to demand for a credible electoral process in our country.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome corruption.

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING: A CALL FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE

Doors are being opened for you in high places because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING: A CALL FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

The Apostle Paul commands in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.” This isn’t just a personal discipline—it’s a divine strategy for change, especially in times when governance is unjust or oppressive. Silence in the face of injustice translates to acceptance. Jesus taught, “Whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth shall have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have [already] been loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18, AMP). There is no neutral ground in spiritual matters; to remain passive is to allow evil to prevail.

The early Church understood this. In Acts 12:1-16, under King Herod’s tyranny, James was executed. Peter was next in line, but “prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God” (Acts 12:5). Their unceasing intercession triggered angelic intervention and Peter’s miraculous escape. Heaven responds to bold, persistent prayer.

Psalm 103:20 affirms, “Bless the Lord, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His word, obeying the voice of His word!” Angels are activated by Word-filled prayers. Prayer is not passive—it is legislative in the spirit realm.

As James 5:16 declares, “The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much”. We must pray, protest in the spirit, and demand good governance. Do not stop praying until righteousness manifests. When we pray, God moves. Change comes. And His will is done on earth as it is in heaven.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness to stand by truth.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome the forces of evil .

REFUSAL TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST BAD GOVERNANCE LEADS TO MULTIDIMENSIONAL POVERTY

The barriers limiting your advancement are being removed because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: REFUSAL TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST BAD GOVERNANCE LEADS TO MULTIDIMENSIONAL POVERTY

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Silence in the face of oppression is complicity. Scripture consistently affirms that speaking out against injustice brings divine intervention and societal transformation. In Acts 6, the early Church confronted nepotism when Hellenistic Jews protested the neglect of their widows in food distribution. Their outcry prompted the appointment of Spirit-filled leaders, which not only resolved inequality but also catalyzed growth and unity—God’s provision flowed where justice prevailed.

Similarly, in Nehemiah 5, Jews exploited fellow Jews during a famine. The cry of the oppressed reached Nehemiah, who acted swiftly to restore fairness. Once oppression was addressed, the community’s strength was restored, illustrating how advocacy breaks the chains of poverty.

God’s heart responds to suffering voices. Exodus 3:7 says, “I have surely seen the affliction of My people...and have heard their cry...for I know their sorrows.” The Israelites’ deliverance began with their cry. Silence prolongs suffering; voicing injustice invites God’s rescue.

David understood this, declaring in Psalm 55:16-18, “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice.” His cry brought deliverance and peace amidst battle.

Proverbs 31:8-9 urges, “Open your mouth for the speechless… plead the cause of the poor and needy.” Isaiah 58:6-11 ties breaking oppression to God’s blessing, light, and guidance.

Inaction is agreement. If we desire change, we must speak. Our voice is a tool for justice, and heaven listens when we cry.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness to preach the gospel.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome oppression.
