Good -Life Devotional: YOU SHALL BE ESTABLISHED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, FAR FROM OPPRESSION

   Isaiah 54:14 declares, “You will be firmly established in righteousness; You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; and from terror, for it will not come near you.” (AMP). This verse reassures believers that God’s righteousness establishes them, granting security from oppression and fear.

   This prophecy finds fulfillment in Christ. Romans 5:1 states, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” True righteousness comes through faith in Jesus, freeing believers from condemnation (Romans 8:1). Isaiah’s promise is not merely national but spiritual, as Jesus said, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).

    The phrase “You will be far from oppression” echoes Psalm 91:5-7, which assures that those who dwell in God’s presence need not fear terror. The ultimate fulfillment is in the New Covenant, where Christ’s righteousness shields believers from eternal judgment (2 Corinthians 5:21).

    Some may argue this promise was only for Israel, but Galatians 3:29 clarifies, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise.” This verse extends Isaiah’s assurance to all who trust in Jesus.

    Thus, Isaiah 54:14 is a foundation for divine security through Christ. True peace is found not in worldly circumstances but in God’s righteousness, which delivers believers from fear, oppression, and ultimate judgment.

   In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and courage to rise up against oppression .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to live in righteousness.
