Good -Life Devotional: SEEKING HELP IN THE DAY OF BATTLE AGAINST TERRORISM ( PART 2
)
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
DIVINE PARTNERSHIPS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST EVIL”
The fight against terrorism—whether spiritual, ideological, or physical—is too great for any one person or nation. Scripture reveals a divine pattern: God uses partnerships to dismantle evil. Just as the King of Sodom sought Abraham’s help and was delivered (Genesis 14), so nations today must not hesitate to seek assistance when confronted with forces bent on destruction.
Even the greatest leaders in Scripture reached outward for support. Moses, overwhelmed by warfare, needed Aaron and Hur to lift his hands so Israel could prevail against Amalek—the precursor of all terrorist spirits (Exodus 17:8–13). God could have defeated Amalek without human cooperation, yet He chose partnership. Victory came when men worked together under God’s direction.
Similarly, King Hezekiah sought prophetic counsel when Assyria, a brutal military power, terrorized Judah. He turned to Isaiah, saying, “This day is a day of trouble… wherefore lift up prayer for the remnant that is left” (Isaiah 37:3–4). God responded with angelic intervention because a leader humbled himself enough to request help.
Seeking help is not unspiritual—it is a mark of righteous leadership. Pride isolates; humility delivers. Scripture declares, “In the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14). Terrorism operates by fear, intimidation, and isolation, but God counters these with collaboration, unity, and shared strength.
Nations must also cry to the Lord, who promises, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you” (Psalm 50:15). Divine help often flows through human channels, alliances, and strategic partnerships. Even Jesus sent His disciples out two by two (Mark 6:7), revealing that effective warfare requires joint effort.
Let every believer and every leader embrace this truth: victory comes when we seek God and seek help. God honors humility, empowers unity, and uses partnerships to break the power of terror.
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and humility to find help when in trouble.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome the fear of terrorism.
