DISREGARD FOR THE BIBLE ATTRACTS TERRORISM ( PART 2)

You shall not be overwhelmed by your situation, divine help shall locate you because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: DISREGARD FOR THE BIBLE ATTRACTS TERRORISM ( PART 2)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Throughout Scripture and history, God reveals a consistent pattern: when nations dishonor His word, they lose His protection; when they repent, He restores them. Isaiah 5:24–30 shows this clearly—because Israel “cast away the law of the LORD of hosts,” God allowed terrifying armies ( terrorists ) to rise against them. The sword, chaos, and fear were not accidents but divine responses to national rebellion.

This pattern is repeated across history. Egypt resisted God’s command through Moses, and plagues destabilized the nation (Exodus 7–12). Assyria, once used as God’s instrument, fell because of pride and cruelty (Nahum 3:1–5). Nineveh, after repenting in Jonah’s generation, was spared—but later returned to violence and was destroyed exactly as God warned. Jerusalem ignored the prophets until Babylon invaded and carried them into exile (2 Chronicles 36:14–17). Even in the New Testament era, Jesus wept over Jerusalem, saying, “Your enemies will surround you… because you did not know the time of your visitation” (Luke 19:41–44). Judgment came in AD 70.

These examples mirror what nations face today. When the Bible is mocked publicly, when God’s truth is trampled, and when pride replaces humility, instability rises. Ezekiel 14:17 warns that “the sword” is one of God’s judgments—exactly the symbol carried by terrorist groups. Yet God’s goal is not destruction but repentance.

The good news is this: God restores any nation that returns to His word. “If My people… humble themselves and pray… I will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Psalm 33:12 reminds us, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.”

May we honor His word today—and walk under His protection.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and national repentance.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power for overcome the fear of terror
