You shall not fall victim of the deceiver because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional: SHALL WE CONTINUE IN SIN BECAUSE WE ARE UNDER GRACE ?
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
“Shall we continue in sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid” (Romans 6:15).
Should politicians and fraudulent preachers continue to steal and kill because we are under grace ? Grace is often misunderstood. Some imagine it gives permission to live carelessly, but Scripture teaches the opposite. Grace is not a license to sin; it is the power to live righteously. Titus 2:11–12 declares that the grace of God “teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts” and to live “soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.” Grace trains, corrects, and empowers the believer.
The devil would have people believe that sin is profitable, pleasurable, and harmless. Yet Romans 6:21 asks, “What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed?” Sin produces temporary excitement but lasting shame. It destroys individuals, weakens families, corrupts nations, and fractures relationships. Proverbs 14:34 reminds us, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Every sinful victory leaves damage somewhere—someone suffers, trust is broken, and spiritual life is diminished.
Romans 6:23 gives the sober conclusion: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Sin always pays wages—spiritual death, emotional decay, and sometimes physical consequences. James 1:15 echoes this truth: “Sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” But righteousness brings life, peace, and stability (Isaiah 32:17).
Therefore, grace calls us higher. We are not only forgiven; we are empowered to live differently. Through grace, we choose righteousness, knowing that holiness produces life, while sin produces shame and death. Walk in grace, and let righteousness prevail
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to walk in righteousness .
