The curse of poverty and stagnation is broken because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional:
FOLLOW LEADERS ONLY AS THEY FOLLOW CHRIST
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Text: 1 Corinthians 11:1; 1 Timothy 6:5; 2 Thessalonians 3:6–10
Christian followership is never unconditional. Paul declared, "Follow my example, as I follow Christ." That single phrase establishes the boundary of spiritual authority. The moment any leader departs from Christ's character or doctrine, the believer's loyalty belongs first to God.
The New Testament repeatedly warns against ministers who commercialize the gospel. First Timothy 6:5 describes people who imagine that godliness is a means of financial gain. Such teachers measure God's favour by wealth and manipulate believers for money. Paul instructed the church to withdraw from such influences.
Likewise, in 2 Thessalonians 3:6–10, Paul warned against disorderly people who refused to work and became dependent on others. Spiritual leadership is not a license for exploitation or laziness. Genuine ministers serve sacrificially and demonstrate integrity.
Believers should imitate faith, humility, holiness, and obedience—not greed, pride, or manipulation. Honour your leaders, pray for them, and support them, but never compromise biblical truth to protect a personality or ministry.
Christ remains the Head of His Church. Every leader is His servant, not His replacement.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to walk in humility. Lord Jesus, help me to honour faithful leaders while keeping my eyes fixed on You alone. Deliver me from deception, manipulation, and false teaching. Give me courage to stand for biblical truth in every circumstance. Amen.
