WORSHIPPING THE UNKNOWN GOD

What was meant to destroy you will only make you stronger because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional;  WORSHIPPING THE UNKNOWN GOD
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Acts 17:23–25
“The God who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.” — Acts 17:24–25 (NKJV)
In Acts 17:23–25, Paul confronted the religious thinking of the Athenians, who had erected an altar to an unknown god. Their religious activities revealed humanity's attempt to worship God without truly knowing Him. Paul explained that the Creator does not dwell in man-made temples nor depend on human efforts, sacrifices or material offerings to sustain His existence. God is self-sufficient; He is the giver, not the receiver of life.
Religion often approaches God as though human ceremonies, rituals and sacrifices could satisfy His needs. However, biblical Christianity reveals a living relationship with God through Jesus Christ. God desires worshippers who worship Him in spirit and truth (John 4:23–24).
Through the new birth, the believer becomes God's dwelling place. The Holy Spirit lives within us (1 Corinthians 3:16; Romans 8:9–11) and communicates God's will. In Acts 13:2, the Holy Spirit spoke directly to believers while they ministered to the Lord. Similarly, Acts 8:29 records the Spirit directing Philip, while Acts 10:19–20 records the Spirit speaking to Peter.
God is not an unknown personality hidden behind religious ceremonies. Through Jesus Christ, He has revealed Himself and established fellowship with humanity (John 14:6–9; 1 John 1:3).
REFLECTION: True Christianity is not merely performing religious activities to reach an unknown God; it is knowing God personally through Jesus Christ and walking daily in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive Him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome false religion Father, reveal Yourself more deeply to me through Jesus Christ. Help me reject empty religious practices and walk in genuine fellowship with Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
