COMMANDING THE DAY (2)

You shall succeed where others fail because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional: COMMANDING THE DAY (PART 2)
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Isaiah 44:24 'Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;"
What efforts did you make towards your sustainance in your mother's womb . God kept you then and sustains you now . It was not by you commanding the day in your mother's womb . To understand this , let's look at more facts on the apologetics of Job 38:12  often used to justify the doctrine of: 'commanding the day'.
3. THE CREATOR–CREATURE DISTINCTION
God’s interrogation in Job 38 draws a line between Creator and creature. Job, a righteous man, is still finite. God’s question is meant to humble Job, and by extension, us.
Isaiah 55:8-9 – “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
APOLOGETIC POINT: When skeptics question God’s justice or power, this verse reminds us that human understanding is limited and cannot judge God’s actions by human standards.
4. MORAL APPLICATION TO SUFFERING
In the apologetic context of suffering, Job’s story is key. Job questioned God due to immense suffering. God answers—not with explanations—but with a revelation of Himself. Job 38:12 is one of many verses where God’s questions redirect Job’s focus from “why” to “Who.”
APOLOGETIC POINT: This teaches that in responding to the problem of evil, Christians appeal to God’s nature and wisdom rather than simplistic answers. The focus becomes trusting God's character when we do not understand His actions.
CONCLUSION:
Job 38:12 serves as a powerful apologetic verse underscoring God's unmatched authority over the natural world. It humbles human pride, confronts atheistic naturalism, and invites us to trust the Creator even amid confusion. This verse is intended to redirect skeptics from abstract arguments about evil or chaos to the deeper question of who controls the universe—and whether He can be trusted. According to Scripture, the answer is yes.The concept of commanding the day contradicts James 4:13-15 "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that."
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and faith to trust God more .
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to prosper in adversity.
