Your family shall eat and be satisfied because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional: STARTING AN
AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS WITHOUT MONEY. ( PART 1)
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Genesis 26:1,12
[1]And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
[12]Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
In a time of great economic hardship God delivers his people from hunger and poverty through agriculture as in the case of Abraham and Isaac. Agriculture is the surest way to end unemployment in any nation .
Agriculture is one of the most promising sectors in Nigeria—there’s always a demand for food. Here are some agricultural business ideas you can start in Nigeria without money, or with very little capital, by starting small, using community resources, or partnering with others:
1. VEGETABLE FARMING (SMALL SCALE)
Start with fast-growing crops like ugu, okra, spinach, or tomatoes in a small backyard or borrowed land.
2. POULTRY FARMING (GROW-TO-SELL)
Raise a few broilers or layers in a small space. You can start by partnering with someone who has space or buy chicks on credit from hatcheries.
3. CATFISH FARMING IN CONTAINERS
Use tanks, drums, or tarpaulin ponds. You can rent or borrow space to start with few fingerlings.
4. MAIZE FARMING (COOPERATIVE MODEL)
Join or collaborate with a cooperative that allows group planting and sharing of profits.
5. HERB AND MEDICINAL PLANT FARMING
Grow scent leaf, bitter leaf, aloe vera, or lemongrass around your home for local sales.
6. SNAIL FARMING
Use plastic containers or small pens to rear snails at home—low cost and high demand.
7. BEEKEEPING
Start with a local wooden hive and catch wild bees. Honey is always in demand.
8. GRASSCUTTER OR RABBIT FARMING
Start with a pair of rabbits or grasscutters in cages; they multiply fast and require little feed.
9. DRY SEASON IRRIGATION FARMING
Use buckets or nearby water sources to grow vegetables in the dry season when prices are high.
10. MUSHROOM FARMING
Use waste materials like sawdust to grow mushrooms in your kitchen or bathroom corner.
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and humility to work.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome stagnation.
