Good -Life Devotional: JUDGMENT IS COMING UPON THOSE WHO MANIPULATE THE JUDICIARY TO PROMOTE UNRIGHTEOUS GOVERNANCE

  Scripture declares, “Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees… to turn aside the needy from judgment” (Isaiah 10:1–2).    When courts meant to defend truth are twisted to protect injustice, God Himself rises as the final Judge. No legal manipulation can overturn divine justice. A day is appointed when the Lord will ask, “What will ye do in the day of visitation?” (Isaiah 10:3). Those who trusted in influence, wealth, and corrupt alliances will find that all they gathered collapses in a moment.

   Isaiah further warns that the light of God will become a consuming fire (Isaiah 10:17). Systems built on oppression will be burned away, and unjust power structures will fall suddenly. Though many are corrupted, God preserves a remnant. “The consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness” (Isaiah 10:22). The Hebrew word for “consumption” is kalah, meaning complete destruction or decisive end. Yet this destruction is not aimless—it clears the ground so righteousness may overflow. When God ends corrupt governance, He replaces decay with justice.

    The Lord also promises, “Yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease” (Isaiah 10:25). Oppression is temporary; God’s intervention is decisive. As in Proverbs 29:2, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.” Likewise, Ecclesiastes 5:8 reminds us that injustice does not escape heaven’s notice, for “He that is higher than the highest regardeth.”

Therefore, hope remains. The yoke of economic and socio-political bondage shall be broken by the anointing of God’s favor (Isaiah 10:27). Divine justice will overturn manipulation, preserve a remnant, and establish overflowing righteousness. God’s judgment is certain, and His restoration is near.

 In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and the destruction of evil influence over the  judiciary and collapse of unjust systems in Nigeria. 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome injustice.
