GOD'S KINGDOM SPREADS THROUGH THE PROSPERITY OF HIS PEOPLE (Part 1)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

"Again proclaim, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad..." — Zechariah 1:17 (KJV)

Bible Reading

Zechariah 1:17-21; 1 Corinthians 16:9; 1 Thessalonians 2:18; Deuteronomy 8:18; 2 Corinthians 9:8-11.

Many Christians view prosperity as merely the acquisition of wealth. Scripture presents a higher purpose. God declared through Zechariah that His cities would spread through prosperity. This reveals that kingdom prosperity is designed to advance God's redemptive agenda. When God's people prosper, churches are built, missionaries are sent, Bibles are printed, the poor are cared for, and the Gospel reaches new territories.

The four horns in Zechariah 1:18-19 symbolize satanic powers and earthly systems that scatter God's people through war, oppression, bad governance , poverty, economic collapse, persecution, and fear. Satan understands that if believers remain financially crippled, many kingdom assignments will remain unfinished.

This explains why Paul said, "A great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries" (1 Corinthians 16:9). Every genuine opportunity for kingdom expansion attracts spiritual opposition. Paul also confessed that "Satan hindered us" (1 Thessalonians 2:18). Satan not only attacks people but also attacks opportunities, resources, and strategic partnerships.

The encouraging truth is that God also prepared four craftsmen (Zechariah 1:20-21) to cast down every horn. God always has greater power than the forces opposing His Church. No satanic agenda can permanently frustrate God's covenant.

God still gives His people power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18), not merely for personal luxury but to establish His covenant throughout the earth.

DAILY CONFESSION

I receive divine power to prosper. Every horn assigned to scatter my family, business, ministry, and destiny is broken in Jesus' name. I am a kingdom financier, and through my prosperity the Gospel shall spread to many nations.

REFLECTION

+Am I viewing prosperity as God's kingdom resource rather than personal gain?

+What ministry can I support more effectively as God prospers me?

+Which "horn" must I confront through faith and prayer?

PRAYER Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome poverty.

Father, thank You for ordaining that Your kingdom should spread through the prosperity of Your people. Every power assigned to scatter my finances, business, family, ministry, and health, be destroyed in Jesus' name. Raise divine craftsmen to overthrow every satanic opposition against my destiny. Empower me to prosper for the advancement of Your kingdom. Amen.
