Scripture: 1 Kings 22:29–38; Psalm 47:8–9
  Prayer is not morally neutral. What we ask God to prosper reveals what we are supporting. Scripture warns believers never to celebrate, defend, or pray for the success of those who deliberately pursue wickedness. Psalm 10:3 describes the wicked as boasting of their evil desires and blessing the covetous. Therefore, praying for the success of a criminal enterprise is an abhorrent misuse of prayer because it seeks divine assistance for what God condemns.
   Jehoshaphat was a righteous king who nevertheless joined forces with Ahab, a wicked king. Ahab asked him to accompany him to battle against Ramoth-gilead. Jehoshaphat survived, but he nearly lost his life. The enemy mistook him for Ahab because he was wearing royal clothing, while Ahab disguised himself. Jehoshaphat cried out, and God helped him, but his alliance had placed him in unnecessary danger (1 Kings 22:29–33).
  This teaches us that righteous people can compromise their security through ungodly associations. Divine protection must never be treated as permission to participate in or support evil.
  Psalm 47:8–9 declares that God reigns over the nations. Ultimately, the shields of the earth belong to Him. Whether a person openly identifies as a Christian or secretly operates in wickedness, no human being possesses independent security apart from God.
  Numbers 14:9 also reveals that when Israel rebelled against God, their “defence” was removed. Sin can create an opening for destruction.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to promote righteousness. Lord, give me discernment to reject every alliance, enterprise, and prayer request that supports wickedness. Keep me under Your protection and separate me from evil. Amen.
