Good-Life Devotional: GROWING INTO CHRISTIAN PERFECTION

   Christian perfection requires intentional spiritual growth. Paul declared that his ministry was to “warn every man, and teach every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” (Colossians 1:28). The goal of Christian ministry is therefore not merely to produce church members but mature disciples who increasingly resemble Christ.
    This maturity is developed through prayer. Epaphras laboured fervently in prayer that believers might “stand perfect and complete in all the will of God” (Colossians 4:12). It also comes through the study and application of Scripture. 2 Timothy 3:16–17 teaches that Scripture equips the believer for every good work. God’s Word corrects, trains, instructs, and brings spiritual completeness.
   Suffering can also contribute to maturity. Hebrews 2:10 speaks of Christ being made perfect through sufferings—not because He was morally sinful, but because suffering completed His appointed experience and mission as the Captain of our salvation. Trials can similarly develop endurance and maturity in believers (James 1:2–4).
  Hebrews 6:1 therefore says, “Let us go on unto perfection.” We must not remain permanently at the elementary stage of faith.
Hebrews 7:11–19 further teaches that the Levitical priesthood and its law could not bring people to perfection. Religious devotion, rituals, ceremonies, and outward observances cannot accomplish what Christ accomplishes within us. They  cannot guarantee entrance into heaven because only the perfect will enter heaven . We are made perfect in Jesus Christ ( Hebrews 12:22-24)
   True perfection is Christ-centered maturity produced through the Word, prayer, obedience, perseverance, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
REFLECTION: Are you merely practising Christianity, or are you growing into the maturity of Christ?
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive Him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to live in holiness . Father, help me grow into spiritual maturity. Through Your Word, prayer, obedience, and perseverance, form Christ in me and make me complete in Your will. Amen.
