Good -Life Devotional: SUSTAINING YOUR ZEAL FOR WORSHIP

True worship is not a mere Sunday ritual—it is a lifestyle marked by passion, consistency, and reverence for God. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” The word diligently in Greek (ekzēteō) implies seeking with intense effort and perseverance. This is the kind of pursuit that sustains zeal.
Zeal (Greek: zēlos) means fervor, passion, or intense devotion. Revelation 3:19 reveals Jesus' rebuke to lukewarm believers: “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be jealous therefore, and repent.” God demands we burn with holy passion—not indifference. He saved us for good works: “...a people for His own possession, zealous for good works” (Titus 2:14).
Galatians 4:18 affirms, “It is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing...” This shows that zeal must be directed toward righteousness, not personal ambition. Hebrews 12:15 warns believers not to fall short of God’s grace or allow bitterness to take root—this defiles worship and quenches zeal.
To sustain zeal for worship, we must feed our faith with Scripture (Romans 10:17), stay in fellowship (Hebrews 10:25), pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-19). Zeal is not emotional hype—it is spiritual fire that is maintained through disciplined devotion and obedience to God’s Word.
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and zeal to spread the gospel.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to be zealous.
