EARTHLY ACHIEVEMENTS DON’T IMPRESS GOD — SOUL WINNING DOES

  Psalm 49:16 says, “Be not afraid when one is made rich…” The Hebrew word for 'afraid'  here is “yārēʼ” (יָרֵא), meaning to fear, be intimidated, or feel anxious. Many people feel like failures when they don’t reach the level of “success” promoted by modern preachers—mansions, popularity, cars, and applause. But Scripture warns us not to measure ourselves by earthly standards.

Verse 17 explains why: “For when he dies, he shall carry nothing away.” What we struggle to acquire is inherited by others when we’re gone. Earthly achievements end at the grave, but heavenly impact echoes into eternity. Jesus said in Revelation 3:17 that those who think wealth equals success are actually “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked” without God’s purpose.

    What truly matters is how many souls are being saved through us. Jesus said in John 15:16, “I chose you and appointed you to bear fruit and that your fruit should remain.” Our wealth and resources are not for pride, but for the advancement of the gospel. Heaven’s joy is not over earthly accomplishments but over “one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:7).

   Earthly achievements are not recognized in heaven, but soul-winning is recorded. Daniel 12:3 says those who turn many to righteousness will shine like stars forever.

   So don’t be discouraged. You are successful when you live for God’s purpose — winning souls for His kingdom.

  In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and boldness and wisdom for soul winning.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach the gospel of righteousness .
