Good-Life Devotional: SHORT LEADERSHIP, LASTING LEGACY

   The Bible contains many examples of leaders whose influence far exceeded the length of their reign or ministry. Their stories prove that a God-centered life can create lasting impact in a brief season.

     Hezekiah quickly restored temple worship and trusted God during a national crisis when the Assyrians threatened Jerusalem (2 Kings 18–19). His faith brought divine deliverance, and the nation witnessed God’s power. Though his reign faced challenges, his trust in God inspired the people greatly.

     Deborah arose during a difficult time in Israel’s history. Through wisdom, courage, and spiritual leadership, she helped deliver Israel from oppression and brought peace to the land (Judges 4–5). Her leadership encouraged a fearful nation to rise again.

   John the Baptist had a brief ministry, yet he prepared the way for Jesus Christ and called multitudes to repentance. His voice shook an entire generation spiritually. Stephen also ministered for a short time, but his bold witness strengthened the early church and influenced future believers, including Paul the Apostle.

      Psalm 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” God is not looking for people who merely occupy positions for long periods; He seeks those who will use their opportunities faithfully. A short season filled with obedience can produce eternal results. Ask God to make your life fruitful, impactful, and pleasing to Him regardless of how long your season may be.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome injustice.
