Good -Life Devotional: STRATEGIC MOVEMENT FOR SUSTAINABLE PROGRESS.
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Strategic movement is a vital principle for sustainable progress. In Genesis 26, Isaac faced repeated opposition as the Philistines contested the wells he dug. Instead of engaging in endless conflict, he chose a wiser path—he kept moving. From Esek (contention) to Sitnah (enmity), and finally to Rehoboth (room), Isaac demonstrated that progress often requires discernment, patience, and timely relocation. At Rehoboth, he declared, “For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land” (Genesis 26:22 AMP). His breakthrough was not accidental; it was the result of strategic persistence guided by God.
This principle is echoed by Jesus Christ in Matthew 10:23, where He instructs His disciples that when they are persecuted in one city, they should move to another. This is not retreat but divine strategy—knowing when to stay and when to advance elsewhere preserves purpose and momentum.
Scripture reinforces this wisdom. Proverbs 3:5–6 urges believers to trust in the Lord for direction, promising that He will make their paths straight. Likewise, Isaiah 48:17 reveals God as the One who teaches us to profit and leads us in the way we should go. Psalm 37:23 affirms that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.
Sustainable progress is rarely achieved by stubborn resistance alone; it often requires strategic movement under divine guidance. Like Isaac, when faced with resistance, we must discern God’s leading, move when necessary, and trust Him to bring us into our “Rehoboth”—a place of expansion, peace, and lasting fruitfulness.
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and resilience against oppressive systems .
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive Him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome stagnation.
