Good-Life Devotional: HE FRUSTRATES THE EVIL ENTERPRISE

   Scripture reveals a comforting truth: no matter how cunning or well-planned evil may seem, God ultimately overturns it. “He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot attain success” (Job 5:12, AMP). The schemes of the wicked are never beyond God’s reach; He sees, He intervenes, and He nullifies their outcomes.

   In Isaiah 44:25, God declares that He “frustrates the signs of liars and makes fools of diviners.” This reminds us that deception, manipulation, and false counsel cannot stand before divine wisdom. What appears clever to men is foolishness before God.

   A powerful example is found in 2 Samuel 17:14, where the counsel of Ahithophel—known for its accuracy—was rejected.   Though his advice could have secured victory against King David, the Scripture says, “the Lord had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, so that the Lord might bring harm on Absalom.” God Himself intervened to protect His anointed and overturn a dangerous plot.

  This pattern is consistent throughout Scripture. Psalm 33:10 declares, “The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the thoughts of the peoples ineffective.” Likewise, Proverbs 19:21 reminds us, “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.”

 As believers, we take refuge in this truth: no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).     When evil rises, God remains sovereign. He defends the righteous, redirects outcomes, and ensures that His purposes prevail.

Trust Him. Even when plots seem advanced, God is already at work—frustrating evil and securing your victory.

  In our daily prayers, we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and resilience in the face of oppression and removal of the oppressor .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to destroy the works of the evil one.
