ENTER THROUGH THE STRAIGHT GATE

The concept of the "straight gate" draws from Jesus' teaching in Matthew 7:13-23, where He urges His followers to enter through the narrow gate, warning that the wide gate leads to destruction and many are on that path. Many Christians do not have a personal relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. They follow signs of wonders instead of being followed by signs and wonders . Every true follower of Jesus Christ walks in signs and wonders. The bible says Mark 16:17

"And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  .." this is synonymous with those on the narrow gate . It is not popular but true . Ask the average Christians or religious persons " how does your God look like " many have no answer . How can you be a worshiper of someone you cannot identify. That was the situation with most religions. They worship an unknown God ( Acts 17:23) because it is a popular thing to do and the fact that there is a large followership. Fame does not translate to God's approval. In Romans 9:27

[27]Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:"

   'The narrow gate represents the way of righteousness, discipleship, and a life aligned with God's will. It requires effort, self-denial, and commitment, but it leads to eternal life. Jesus also cautions about false prophets, outwardly appearing righteous but inwardly corrupt, emphasizing that true followers will be known by their fruits—actions reflective of their faith.


In 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, Paul echoes this warning, describing how those who reject the truth will be deceived by false signs and wonders. God allows this delusion because they refuse to love the truth, choosing instead to believe lies. This parallels the broad path of destruction, where people follow error instead of truth. 

2 Peter 2:1-7 further develops this theme by speaking of false teachers who secretly introduce destructive heresies. Their judgment is certain, just as God judged the wicked in the past. However, Peter assures that God also knows how to rescue the godly, such as He did with Lot and Noah, reinforcing the importance of pursuing the narrow way.

MORTIFY THE DEEDS OF THE BODY

The phrase "mortify the deeds of the body" refers to putting to death sinful desires and actions that conflict with the Spirit's work within us. Romans 8:13 teaches that through the Spirit, believers are called to "put to death the deeds of the body" to live in obedience to God. Colossians 3:5 echoes this, urging Christians to “put to death” sinful inclinations such as sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and greed. Similarly, Galatians 5:19 lists the "acts of the flesh" that oppose spiritual living, and 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 highlights the importance of self-discipline, comparing the Christian life to a race where only those who exhibit control over their bodies and desires will obtain the prize.


Fasting and prayer are powerful spiritual disciplines that aid in this process. Acts 14:23 shows the early church leaders fasting and praying to seek God's guidance, demonstrating that these practices strengthen believers to resist sin and submit to the Spirit. Peter, in Acts 10:30, fasted to prepare his heart for God's revelation, while Anna, in Luke 2:36-37, exemplified a life of devotion through fasting and prayer.


By denying the flesh through fasting, the believer brings the body into submission, creating space for the Spirit to work more fully. Prayer strengthens resolve and invites the power of God to overcome sinful tendencies, helping the believer to walk in the Spirit and mortify the deeds of the body. Together, these disciplines help cultivate a life of holiness, obedience, and spiritual victory.

BE WELL ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN GOD'S LOVE

Ephesians 3:17

[17]That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Colossians 2:7

[7]Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."

  The place of being well  rooted in the faith is the place of being taught the mysteries of the kingdom, unfortunately most gifted persons loath being under any form of dominion , are impatient and love to dominate and are quick to castigate persons  in leadership .

    To rule over people in a godly manner ,you must learn to be ruled . The bible says in  Jude 1:8 "Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." Most persons who  quit ministry were not well rooted and this carried away by the deceitfulness of riches . 

    Having spiritual roots as a believer is vital for sustaining a life of faith and growth. In Mark 4:6, Jesus describes how plants with shallow roots wither when the sun rises, illustrating that believers without deep spiritual foundations will struggle when faced with trials. This passage warns us that without being deeply rooted in Christ, we can falter in challenging times.


   In Jude 1:8-12, the apostle highlights how false teachers, like “trees without fruit and uprooted,” can mislead believers who are not firmly grounded in their faith. This reinforces the importance of being spiritually anchored to discern truth and avoid falling into error.


   Apostle Paul’s journey also emphasizes the need for strong spiritual roots. After his miraculous conversion on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:10-18), Paul didn’t immediately begin his ministry. He first spent time being nurtured and mentored by figures like Ananias, Gamaliel, and later, the church elders. His spiritual roots were strengthened through teaching and discipleship, preparing him for his immense mission.


    As believers, being deeply rooted in faith equips us to withstand trials, grow in wisdom, and fulfill our callings effectively, just as Paul did after receiving guidance from his mentors.

EATING IN DREAMS HAS NO EFFECT ON THE BELIEVER

  Eating in dreams is a common experience for many people, but biblically, it doesn’t have the power to stop your blessings. Isaiah 29:8 mentions how hunger and poverty can inspire eating in dreams, as the passage describes a person dreaming of food but waking up hungry. This suggests that dreams can reflect our physical or emotional state.  . Similarly, Ecclesiastes 5:3 highlights that a multitude of dreams can come from many cares, meaning not every dream holds deep spiritual meaning, and often, they are simply products of our thoughts or worries. Such dreams are common to does who cannot afford good food . False prophets use them as a tool to ensnare people into following them . 


In Acts 10:9-15, Peter was shown a vision in which God instructed him to eat animals that were once considered forbidden under the law. This vision was meant to show that all things, including foods, belong to God. As 1 Corinthians 3:20-23 reminds us, all things—whether physical or spiritual—belong to Christ. Therefore, eating in a dream, whether symbolic or otherwise, does not have power over your spiritual inheritance. Your blessings are secured in Christ, and you cannot lose what God has given you through mere dreams. Trust that your blessing comes from God, and no dream can alter that.

 Learn to cancel the negative impact of a bad dream on your subconscious by reciting Colossians 2:14 - 17 with understanding. It says Colossians 2:14-17

[14]Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

[15]And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

[16]Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

[17]Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Also read 

Mark 7:18-19 NLT

[18] “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? [19] Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)

 Eating food in the dream cannot affect you spiritually.

HAVING SEX IN A DREAM CANNOT STOP YOUR BLESSINGS.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

   The spiritual status of the born again Christian cannot be altered by dreams or any  circumstances . We are saved to the uttermost ( Hebrews 7:25) the word uttermost is the Greek word ' pantelēs' ,it means: full ended , entire . So there is no part of the believer that is not saved . The believer is also united in spirit with God and is the temple of the Holy Spirit thus giving no room or any spiritual marriage with a demon through a dream .

Sexual dreams are common among sexually active persons who are hungry for sex but cannot fulfil it. It is usually consentual . Also known as 'wet' dreams just like eating in the dream , it is a buyproduct of lust or a craving .

    Dreams about sexual experiences, even for a born-again Christian, do not necessarily reflect one's spiritual condition or moral character. Dreams are often shaped by our subconscious mind, emotions, and various experiences, rather than directly revealing spiritual realities.  Many believers interpret such dreams in different ways, depending on their context, and they may view them as temptations or spiritual attacks.

   The Bible doesn't directly address having sexual experiences in dreams, but it does speak about maintaining purity in heart and mind, which includes thoughts, actions, and desires. Here are some relevant verses:

   1. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 - "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

    This verse encourages purity and the avoidance of sexual immorality in our actions and decisions that could result in wet dreams .

2. Philippians 4:8 - "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

A focus on cultivating pure and godly thoughts is emphasized here.

3. 2 Corinthians 10:5 - "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

This verse encourages believers to control their thoughts and make them obedient to Christ, whether they occur consciously or subconsciously.

    If you feel troubled by dreams involving sexual encounters, you could see them as an opportunity to reflect on your spiritual life, pray for guidance, and ask God for help in maintaining purity of thought and action, The bible says .Proverbs 4:23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Avoid sexually explicit materials, these are the ingredients Satan needs to attack your minds with wet dreams . Whenever it happens, remember nothing has changed with your  relationship with God and his blessings ( Read Colossians 1:12-14). Engage the enemy in prayer and spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:12-18) to overcome temptations or spiritual attacks that may arise, even in the form of dreams. Pray more in tongues ( 1Corinthians 14:4)

HE REDEEMS OUR SOULS FROM DEATH

 Psalms 34:22

 "The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate."

  The word 'redeemeth' is the Hebrew word 'pâdâh' it means to preserve . This means a soul could be lost or destroyed. This is what happens when a person gets initiated in to a satanic society or cult . 

    In the Bible, the terms soul and spirit are sometimes used interchangeably, but they can have distinct meanings depending on the context. 

1. Soul (Hebrew: "nephesh", Greek: "psuché")

The soul often refers to the whole person, including their life, desires, emotions, and individuality. It is the seat of human emotions, will, and consciousness ( senses )

   The soul encompasses a person’s mental and emotional life and is sometimes seen as their personality or essence.

   In some contexts, it refers to the life or life force of a person, including both their earthly existence and eternal life.

 The bible says in Genesis 2:7: "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Here, “soul” refers to a living being, with God giving life through His breath.

 In Matthew 16:26: "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?" The soul is seen as something of ultimate value, beyond material wealth.

 In Psalm 42:11: "Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God."

Here, the soul expresses emotions like despair and hope, showing its role in a person's inner emotional life.

  The soul is different from the spirit . The word used to describe the. Spirit (Hebrew: "ruach", Greek: "pneuma")

    The spirit is generally seen as the immaterial part of a human that connects to God. It is the breath or divine aspect that returns to God after death.

   The spirit is often viewed as the God-conscious part of a person, which allows for communication and relationship with God.

   While the soul is tied to personal identity and emotions, the spirit is the part that is attuned to God and spiritual realities.

The bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:7: "Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it."

This verse reflects the belief that the spirit is a divine gift from God and returns to Him upon death.

 Also 1 Corinthians 2:11: "For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God."

   The spirit is the deeper, inner part of a person that is capable of knowing and discerning spiritual truths.

The bible says in Romans 8:16: "The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God."

This shows that the human spirit connects with the Holy Spirit, allowing believers to recognize their relationship with God.

  Demons use human souls to experience the human world and express themselves through such persons in the case of demon possessions . When a person is delivered, the soul is restored as the demon departs .. The bible says Psalms 23:3  'He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."

 A life of righteousness prevents a person from losing their souls to the devil . In Christ our souls are restored by his blood .

EMOTIONALISM IS NOT SPIRITUALITY

Romans 8:6 "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.'

Emotionalism and biblical spirituality are often confused, but they are fundamentally different. Emotionalism is the natural human response to spiritual matters, driven by feelings and external expressions, rather than by the Spirit of God. This approach may appear spiritual, but it lacks the depth and discernment that true spirituality offers. It is like hugging or kissing yourself and wondering why you don't feel loved and warm.


According to 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, biblical spirituality is rooted in receiving and understanding the things of God through His Spirit. The passage states that the natural person cannot accept the things of the Spirit because they are spiritually discerned. Emotionalism relies on human senses and reactions, which can cloud true understanding of God's Word.


In contrast, biblical spirituality involves a deeper, Spirit-led comprehension. Jesus emphasizes this in John 6:63, where He says, "The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life." The flesh is powerless to produce spiritual truth, as John 3:6 says, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit."


Moreover, Matthew 16:17 highlights that spiritual revelation comes only from God. Peter’s confession of Christ’s divinity was not revealed by flesh and blood but by the Father, affirming that spiritual insight transcends emotional responses.


  Emotionalism refers to a focus on emotions, often prioritizing them as the primary source of meaning or understanding in various contexts. The term can be applied to multiple areas, such as art, philosophy, or personal behavior, and typically highlights the importance of emotional experiences over rational or logical approaches.

   In Personal Behavior: Someone who practices emotionalism might react more strongly based on how they feel rather than rational thought. This could lead to heightened sensitivity or impulsive actions driven by emotions rather than contemplation or planning.

  Emotionalism is usually manifested through, over - devotion to church activities, shaking your body , shedding tears while singing religious songs or praying and the so - called " falling under the anointing ' None of the disciples who saw jesus Christ ( the anointing and anointer) face to face fell under the anointing. Abraham, Moses , Elijah , Elisha  never did , You must not fall to be anointed. The anointing is already in you ( John15;16, 1John 2;27) 

  Emotionalism is an art and sooner or later all acting must come to an end . These are the people who abandon the faith , claiming Jesus Christ is not real out of frustration.

You can't move God with human emotions to do anything . Faith is a rational proposition .

EMOTIONALISM IS A HINDRANCE TO EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Emotionalism: A Hindrance to Emotional Intelligence


Emotionalism, the tendency to be governed by emotions rather than reason, can often hinder emotional intelligence (EQ), which is the ability to understand, manage, and use emotions in a constructive way. Emotional intelligence calls for self-control, empathy, and wise decision-making, while emotionalism can lead to impulsive reactions and clouded judgment.

  This is the reason behind the increase in divorce cases and more aging unmarried persons as marriage roles are being redefined thus  stripping men of their spiritual authority and handing it over to women and children.. The bible says Isaiah 3:12 "As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths."  The woman is not the head of the family but the man regardless of her status in the society. 

  The result of this anomaly is the prevalence of successful women without husbands and increased tendency for polygamy. The bible says Isaiah 4:1

" And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.'. Emotionalism results in emotional and physical abuse in marriages and relationships. 

    The Bible addresses the dangers of uncontrolled emotions. Proverbs 29:11 says, "A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back." This verse illustrates the importance of controlling our emotional impulses, a key element of emotional intelligence. Emotionalism, on the other hand, disregards wisdom, leading to poor decisions and strained relationships.


Additionally, James 1:19 advises, "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." Emotional intelligence encourages patience, understanding, and reflection, whereas emotionalism often leads to reactive anger, which can harm interactions and disrupt peace.

  By leaning on biblical principles ( such as Galatians 5;22-23 and 1 Corinthians 13:4-7) , we can avoid emotionalism and cultivate emotional intelligence, which leads to healthier relationships, better decision-making, and a more balanced life aligned with God’s wisdom. Emotional intelligence is not about suppressing emotions but managing them in a way that honors God and fosters growth.

1 Corinthians 10:21

"Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils."

  1 Timothy 4:1

" Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

   'Desperate times calls for desperate actions " is a quote often used by persons seeking immediate results when faced with extreme poverty and difficulties. This has opened the door to the proliferation of the activities of demonic spirits with most deguising as ministers or messengers of God.  This trend has created a yearning for spirituality outside God's word  with many delving into Spiritism. You cannot mix light with darkness . There are preachers who practice occultism and worship of mediums in a bid to appear as being successful in ministry. They have sold their souls to the devil . 

  Spiritism and spirituality, though often conflated, are distinct concepts. Spiritism refers to a belief in communication with the spirits of the dead or non-corporeal entities, often through mediums or other practices. Spirituality, in the Christian sense, is about connecting with God through His Holy Spirit and living according to His will, guided by Scripture and prayer.


Colossians 2:19-23 warns against false teachings and practices that rely on "visions" and other mystical experiences, not holding fast to Christ. Paul admonishes believers to remain rooted in Christ, who is the head of the Church. This reflects how Spiritism, focused on contact with spirits, can lead people away from the truth in Christ.


1 Kings 18:26-29 describes the futile attempts of the prophets of Baal to summon their god through loud cries and self-harm, contrasting with God’s true power shown through Elijah. Similarly, Spiritism seeks supernatural experiences outside of God's will.


In 1 Kings 19:10-13, Elijah encounters God not in a dramatic display but in a still small voice, showing that God’s presence is not found through spiritual sensationalism.


Finally, Acts 16:16-18 tells of a spirit of divination, which Paul rebukes in the name of Jesus. This reinforces the idea that such spiritual practices are contrary to God's purposes.

SPIRITISM AND  YOUR MENTAL HEALTH

 I was awakened by the knock on my door by 3 am from a mentally unstable woman seeking for help. I found out she had attended a religious institution where she was told to always pray at night with one eye opened in order to attain a level of spirituality,. She did as she was told and had a mental breakdown. At about the same period I was informed that a second woman who attended the same institution had a similar mental condition. 

  I engaged a psychiatrist and both were restored with prayers and proper teaching on prayers. Our streets are dotted with persons suffering from mental illnesses as a result of Spiritism. More people are sleeping less as a result of midnight prayers and destroy their brains in the process . God wants us to have a good night's rest .

    Spiritism, which involves communication with spirits and belief in reincarnation, can lead to spiritual and mental harm, often contributing to increased mental instability. Isaiah 8:19 says, “When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God?” The focus on spirits instead of God can lead to delusions, paranoia, and irrational behavior.


By trusting in the supernatural rather than God's truth, people become more susceptible to mental disturbances. The Bible teaches that turning away from God leads to chaos in both mind and spirit. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” Spiritism, by contrast, erodes mental clarity, promoting instability and fear.

[1]And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

[2]In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel." 

  The bible predicts that there shall come a time when polygamy shall be a popular choice amongst women due to economic hardship brought about sin and bad governance. 

  A healthy family is God's plan for humanity and draws people to him . Satan hates healthy families. Satan's strategy to destroy the family system includes promoting bad governance through a failed electoral process.  God's people should rise against this .

  Failure to do so comes with devastating effects on the marriage institution. 

  A poor national economy can have a significant impact on marriages. Here are seven ways this occurs, along with related Bible verses: 

1. Financial Stress: Economic hardship increases financial stress, which can strain relationships. Proverbs 22:7 reminds us, “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.”


2. Delayed Marriages: When jobs are scarce, couples often delay marriage, fearing they cannot afford it. Ecclesiastes 11:4 says, “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.”


3. Increased Divorce Rates: Economic pressures can lead to divorce, as financial instability often causes conflict. 1 Timothy 6:10 warns, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”


4. Inability to Provide: Men may feel inadequate if they cannot provide for their families, leading to relationship struggles. 1 Timothy 5:8 states, “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives… has denied the faith.”


5. Weakened Family Ties: Economic hardship forces many to migrate for work, leading to separation. Matthew 19:6 reminds us, “What God has joined together, let no one separate.”


6. Health Issues: Poverty leads to stress-related health problems that can strain marriages. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”


7. Loss of Hope: Prolonged financial hardship can lead to hopelessness, affecting relationships. Proverbs 13:12 states, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick.”

6 WAYS TO PREVENT MARITAL COLLAPSE IN TIMES OF ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS DUE TO BAD GOVERNANCE

Psalms 37:19

" They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied." 

 There are three reasons a marriage suffers untold hardship, they are 1) wrong personal choices 2) the wrong choices of persons related to us and 3) bad governance. 

  The first two causes are within our control and we can make the necessary changes required to bring about an improvement in our circumstances but not with bad governance. Bad governance is beyond our individual control and requires deliverance through God's intervention. 

Psalm 37:19 says the lord will satisfy us with provisions in difficult times , as we follow his directions . There are steps which can be taken to avoid  being a casualty of the hardships as a result of bad governance. They include the following: 

1. Pray Together for Guidance

In times of economic hardship, seeking God’s guidance is essential. Prayer ( in tongues ) strengthens your bond and invites God’s wisdom into your decisions. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally…” (James 1:5).


1 Corinthians 14:4

" He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; .."

The word 'edifieth ' is the Greek word :oikodomeō' it means to be a house builder that is construct or (figuratively) confirm:. When you speak in tongues you are building your marriage and confirming it. 


2. Practice Contentment

In tough times, learning to be content is key to maintaining peace in your marriage. Trust that God will provide what you need. “Godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6).

Psalms 131:1

," LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.".    If necessary move into a smaller affordable house and change children's schools to what you can afford . You will be happier and healthier earn more respect .


3. Be Good Stewards of Finances

Budget wisely and avoid unnecessary expenses. Avoid emotional and egocentric purchases or expenses . Ask the lord to help you change church or club if it is so much of a financial burden . Unwise involvement in church and other social activities is a major cause in marital failures. Giving should be a cheerful and not sorrowful experience. Stewardship is about being faithful with what you have. “Moreover, it is required in stewards that one be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2).


4. Support Each Other Emotionally

Economic stress can create tension. Stay emotionally supportive, lifting each other up with , hugs and kisses and sharing relevant bible verses, psalms and worship songs and “Two are better than one… if one falls, the other can help” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Useful psalms include Psalm 34, Psalm 70, psalm 71, psalm 91 


5. Maintain Open Communication

Avoid using harsh and  offensive words, Think before you speak .Respect each other's opinions . Discuss your financial situation openly , respectfully and honestly. “Where there is no guidance, the people fall, but in an abundance of counselors, there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14).


6. Trust God for Provision

Finally, trust that God will meet your needs even in difficult times. Demonstrate your trust in God through giving to the poor and your spiritual leader seeking their counsel and prayers every week as guided by the Holy Spirit “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory” (Philippians 4:19).

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE HUMAN SOUL AFTER DEATH

  The soul is considered the source of consciousness, identity, morality, and emotion. It is often believed to be eternal, transcending physical death and representing the true self. As you read this now there is a voice reading with a human voice and either approving or disapproving . It does not eat , drink , sleep , defecate. It consists of the senses of smell, taste, touch , sight and hearing. It lives forever   .

   The fellow in Luke 16;19-32  felt the pains of hell and so will the unbeliever . 

   The question of what happens to the human soul after death is one that has been debated and interpreted in different ways within Christian theology. The Bible offers several passages that provide insight into this mystery. Below are some key concepts and verses that address what happens to the soul after death:

1. THE SOUL GOES TO BE WITH GOD TO AWAIT JUDGMENT

The Bible suggests that upon death, the soul either goes to be with God or awaits judgment. This is often referred to as the separation of the soul from the body, and the righteous are believed to be in the presence of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8: "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."

  This verse is often interpreted to mean that believers' souls go to be with the Lord immediately upon death.

  Philippians 1:23: "I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far."

The Apostle Paul expresses his desire to leave this life and be with Christ, implying that the soul of a believer is with Christ after death.

2. THE SOUL SLEEPS OR RESTS UNTIL THE RESURRECTION

Some interpretations of Scripture suggest that the soul "sleeps" or rests until the final resurrection at the end of time, at which point everyone will be judged.

   1 Thessalonians 4:13-14: "Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."

  John 11:11: Jesus said, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”

This phrase "fallen asleep" has been interpreted as a metaphor for death, implying that those who have died are in a state of rest.

3. JUDGMENT AFTER DEATH

The Bible also teaches that after death comes judgment. The soul will face either eternal life or eternal separation from God based on one's relationship with Christ.

  Hebrews 9:27: "Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment."

   Matthew 25:46: "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

4. THE RESURRECTION AND ETERNAL LIFE

At the final resurrection, the Bible speaks of a time when bodies will be raised and reunited with their souls, and all will stand before God's judgment.

1 Corinthians 15:52: "In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed."

  John 5:28-29: "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned."

  It is safe to say from these passages, it is clear that the Bible presents the soul as continuing beyond physical death, either in the immediate presence of God or resting until the resurrection and final judgment. Believers look forward to eternal life with God, while those who reject Him face eternal separation.

ENTER THROUGH THE STRAIGHT GATE

The concept of the "straight gate" draws from Jesus' teaching in Matthew 7:13-23, where He urges His followers to enter through the narrow gate, warning that the wide gate leads to destruction and many are on that path. Many Christians do not have a personal relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. They follow signs of wonders instead of being followed by signs and wonders . Every true follower of Jesus Christ walks in signs and wonders. The bible says Mark 16:17

"And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  .." this is synonymous with those on the narrow gate . It is not popular but true . Ask the average Christians or religious persons " how does your God look like " many have no answer . How can you be a worshiper of someone you cannot identify. That was the situation with most religions. They worship an unknown God ( Acts 17:23) because it is a popular thing to do and the fact that there is a large followership. Fame does not translate to God's approval. In Romans 9:27

[27]Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:"

   'The narrow gate represents the way of righteousness, discipleship, and a life aligned with God's will. It requires effort, self-denial, and commitment, but it leads to eternal life. Jesus also cautions about false prophets, outwardly appearing righteous but inwardly corrupt, emphasizing that true followers will be known by their fruits—actions reflective of their faith.


In 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, Paul echoes this warning, describing how those who reject the truth will be deceived by false signs and wonders. God allows this delusion because they refuse to love the truth, choosing instead to believe lies. This parallels the broad path of destruction, where people follow error instead of truth. 

2 Peter 2:1-7 further develops this theme by speaking of false teachers who secretly introduce destructive heresies. Their judgment is certain, just as God judged the wicked in the past. However, Peter assures that God also knows how to rescue the godly, such as He did with Lot and Noah, reinforcing the importance of pursuing the narrow way.

MORTIFY THE DEEDS OF THE BODY

The phrase "mortify the deeds of the body" refers to putting to death sinful desires and actions that conflict with the Spirit's work within us. Romans 8:13 teaches that through the Spirit, believers are called to "put to death the deeds of the body" to live in obedience to God. Colossians 3:5 echoes this, urging Christians to “put to death” sinful inclinations such as sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and greed. Similarly, Galatians 5:19 lists the "acts of the flesh" that oppose spiritual living, and 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 highlights the importance of self-discipline, comparing the Christian life to a race where only those who exhibit control over their bodies and desires will obtain the prize.


Fasting and prayer are powerful spiritual disciplines that aid in this process. Acts 14:23 shows the early church leaders fasting and praying to seek God's guidance, demonstrating that these practices strengthen believers to resist sin and submit to the Spirit. Peter, in Acts 10:30, fasted to prepare his heart for God's revelation, while Anna, in Luke 2:36-37, exemplified a life of devotion through fasting and prayer.


By denying the flesh through fasting, the believer brings the body into submission, creating space for the Spirit to work more fully. Prayer strengthens resolve and invites the power of God to overcome sinful tendencies, helping the believer to walk in the Spirit and mortify the deeds of the body. Together, these disciplines help cultivate a life of holiness, obedience, and spiritual victory.

BE WELL ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN GOD'S LOVE

Ephesians 3:17

[17]That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Colossians 2:7

[7]Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."

  The place of being well  rooted in the faith is the place of being taught the mysteries of the kingdom, unfortunately most gifted persons loath being under any form of dominion , are impatient and love to dominate and are quick to castigate persons  in leadership .

    To rule over people in a godly manner ,you must learn to be ruled . The bible says in  Jude 1:8 "Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." Most persons who  quit ministry were not well rooted and this carried away by the deceitfulness of riches . 

    Having spiritual roots as a believer is vital for sustaining a life of faith and growth. In Mark 4:6, Jesus describes how plants with shallow roots wither when the sun rises, illustrating that believers without deep spiritual foundations will struggle when faced with trials. This passage warns us that without being deeply rooted in Christ, we can falter in challenging times.


   In Jude 1:8-12, the apostle highlights how false teachers, like “trees without fruit and uprooted,” can mislead believers who are not firmly grounded in their faith. This reinforces the importance of being spiritually anchored to discern truth and avoid falling into error.


   Apostle Paul’s journey also emphasizes the need for strong spiritual roots. After his miraculous conversion on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:10-18), Paul didn’t immediately begin his ministry. He first spent time being nurtured and mentored by figures like Ananias, Gamaliel, and later, the church elders. His spiritual roots were strengthened through teaching and discipleship, preparing him for his immense mission.


    As believers, being deeply rooted in faith equips us to withstand trials, grow in wisdom, and fulfill our callings effectively, just as Paul did after receiving guidance from his mentors.

DELIVERANCE OF A NATION FROM THE STRONGHOLDS OF FALSE PROPHETS

   Deuteronomy 23:4-5: "For they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you. But the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loved you."

    The deliverance of a nation from the strongholds of false prophets is a powerful act of God, often initiated through His discernment and intervention. False prophets, like Balaam, aim to deceive and lead God's people astray, but God’s sovereignty prevails. In Numbers 22-24, Balaam, though initially presented as a prophet, was driven by greed and sought to curse Israel at the behest of King Balak. Yet, God intervened, turning the intended curses into blessings. This illustrates that no weapon formed against God's people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).


False prophets, like Balaam, often speak with hidden agendas, leading nations into idolatry, immorality, and rebellion against God. However, 2 Peter 2:15 warns against following in Balaam’s footsteps, "who loved the wages of wickedness."  They are the ones involved in the money laundering of the stolen resources of God's people by thriving politicians and corrupt businessmen .   

    Deliverance begins with repentance, returning to God’s Word, and rejecting falsehood.


   God raises true prophets to expose and counteract the deception. In the case of Balaam, God used an angel and even a donkey to reveal His truth (Numbers 22:31-34), showing that divine intervention thwarts false prophecy. As nations seek God earnestly, He promises deliverance: “If my people... will humble themselves... I will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).


Jude warns believers about people who, like Balaam, pursue personal gain at the expense of righteousness.


Jude 1:11: "Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion."

TRUE HAPPINESS IS A GIFT FROM GOD

    Psalms 16:11

" Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

     Joy does not come from the attainment of a social status or possessing of treasures . All of these are liabilities that increases our dependency on others for security. For instance, you may not need body guards to move around but will do it if you attain certain heights in society. This increases your dependency on the body guards for survival which is a burden . Acquiring certain amount of riches makes you vulnerable to attacks. Nothing guarantees joy . The scripture says in Ecclesiastes 2:26

" For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. At death we live all our worldly possession to persons who did not labour for them . 

True happiness is a gift from God, rooted in a deep relationship with Him. Romans 15:13 tells us that God fills us with joy and peace when we trust in Him, allowing us to overflow with hope through the Holy Spirit. This joy is a fruit of the Spirit, as described in Galatians 5:22, and it grows within us as we walk in alignment with God’s will.


   True joy and happiness come from being in fellowship with the Lord and His Word. In Jeremiah 15:16, the prophet says, "Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart." When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, we find delight in God's promises and truths. Similarly, Acts 2:28 reminds us that God shows us the path of life, filling us with gladness in His presence.


Joy is more than an emotion; it is a place we access in the heart of the Lord through obedience. Matthew 25:21 speaks of the joy that awaits those who faithfully serve, "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." Preaching the gospel daily brings us closer to God's heart, where true happiness resides.

EMOTIONALISM IS NOT SPIRITUALITY

Romans 8:6 "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.'

Emotionalism and biblical spirituality are often confused, but they are fundamentally different. Emotionalism is the natural human response to spiritual matters, driven by feelings and external expressions, rather than by the Spirit of God. This approach may appear spiritual, but it lacks the depth and discernment that true spirituality offers. It is like hugging or kissing yourself and wondering why you don't feel loved and warm.


According to 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, biblical spirituality is rooted in receiving and understanding the things of God through His Spirit. The passage states that the natural person cannot accept the things of the Spirit because they are spiritually discerned. Emotionalism relies on human senses and reactions, which can cloud true understanding of God's Word.


In contrast, biblical spirituality involves a deeper, Spirit-led comprehension. Jesus emphasizes this in John 6:63, where He says, "The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life." The flesh is powerless to produce spiritual truth, as John 3:6 says, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit."


Moreover, Matthew 16:17 highlights that spiritual revelation comes only from God. Peter’s confession of Christ’s divinity was not revealed by flesh and blood but by the Father, affirming that spiritual insight transcends emotional responses.


  Emotionalism refers to a focus on emotions, often prioritizing them as the primary source of meaning or understanding in various contexts. Abraham, Moses , Elijah , Elisha  never did , You must not fall to be anointed. The anointing is already in you ( John15;16, 1John 2;27) 

  Emotionalism is an art and sooner or later all acting must come to an end . These are the people who abandon the faith , claiming Jesus Christ is not real out of frustration.

You can't move God with human emotions to do anything . Faith is a rational proposition .

Emotionalism: A Hindrance to Emotional Intelligence


Emotionalism, the tendency to be governed by emotions rather than reason, can often hinder emotional intelligence (EQ), which is the ability to understand, manage, and use emotions in a constructive way. Emotional intelligence calls for self-control, empathy, and wise decision-making, while emotionalism can lead to impulsive reactions and clouded judgment.

  This is the reason behind the increase in divorce cases and more aging unmarried persons as marriage roles are being redefined thus  stripping men of their spiritual authority and handing it over to women and children.. The bible says Isaiah 3:12 "As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths."  The woman is not the head of the family but the man regardless of her status in the society. 

  The result of this anomaly is the prevalence of successful women without husbands and increased tendency for polygamy. The bible says Isaiah 4:1

" And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.'. Emotionalism results in emotional and physical abuse in marriages and relationships. 

    The Bible addresses the dangers of uncontrolled emotions. Proverbs 29:11 says, "A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back." This verse illustrates the importance of controlling our emotional impulses, a key element of emotional intelligence. Emotionalism, on the other hand, disregards wisdom, leading to poor decisions and strained relationships.


Additionally, James 1:19 advises, "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." Emotional intelligence encourages patience, understanding, and reflection, whereas emotionalism often leads to reactive anger, which can harm interactions and disrupt peace.

  By leaning on biblical principles ( such as Galatians 5;22-23 and 1 Corinthians 13:4-7) , we can avoid emotionalism and cultivate emotional intelligence, which leads to healthier relationships, better decision-making, and a more balanced life aligned with God’s wisdom. Emotional intelligence is not about suppressing emotions but managing them in a way that honors God and fosters growth.

1 Corinthians 10:21

"Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils."

  1 Timothy 4:1

" Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

   'Desperate times calls for desperate actions " is a quote often used by persons seeking immediate results when faced with extreme poverty and difficulties. This has opened the door to the proliferation of the activities of demonic spirits with most deguising as ministers or messengers of God.  This trend has created a yearning for spirituality outside God's word  with many delving into Spiritism. You cannot mix light with darkness . There are preachers who practice occultism and worship of mediums in a bid to appear as being successful in ministry. They have sold their souls to the devil . 

  Spiritism and spirituality, though often conflated, are distinct concepts. Spiritism refers to a belief in communication with the spirits of the dead or non-corporeal entities, often through mediums or other practices. Spirituality, in the Christian sense, is about connecting with God through His Holy Spirit and living according to His will, guided by Scripture and prayer.


Colossians 2:19-23 warns against false teachings and practices that rely on "visions" and other mystical experiences, not holding fast to Christ. Paul admonishes believers to remain rooted in Christ, who is the head of the Church. This reflects how Spiritism, focused on contact with spirits, can lead people away from the truth in Christ.


1 Kings 18:26-29 describes the futile attempts of the prophets of Baal to summon their god through loud cries and self-harm, contrasting with God’s true power shown through Elijah. Similarly, Spiritism seeks supernatural experiences outside of God's will.


In 1 Kings 19:10-13, Elijah encounters God not in a dramatic display but in a still small voice, showing that God’s presence is not found through spiritual sensationalism.


Finally, Acts 16:16-18 tells of a spirit of divination, which Paul rebukes in the name of Jesus. This reinforces the idea that such spiritual practices are contrary to God's purposes.

SPIRITISM AND  YOUR MENTAL HEALTH

 I was awakened by the knock on my door by 3 am from a mentally unstable woman seeking for help. I found out she had attended a religious institution where she was told to always pray at night with one eye opened in order to attain a level of spirituality,. She did as she was told and had a mental breakdown. At about the same period I was informed that a second woman who attended the same institution had a similar mental condition. 

  I engaged a psychiatrist and both were restored with prayers and proper teaching on prayers. Our streets are dotted with persons suffering from mental illnesses as a result of Spiritism. More people are sleeping less as a result of midnight prayers and destroy their brains in the process . God wants us to have a good night's rest .

    Spiritism, which involves communication with spirits and belief in reincarnation, can lead to spiritual and mental harm, often contributing to increased mental instability. The Bible warns against engaging with occult practices, including spiritism, as it opens the door to dangerous spiritual influences. In Leviticus 19:31, the Lord commands, “Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them.” This defilement includes not only spiritual damage but also psychological effects.


When individuals seek guidance from spirits rather than relying on God, they often experience confusion, fear, and anxiety. Isaiah 8:19 says, “When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God?” The focus on spirits instead of God can lead to delusions, paranoia, and irrational behavior.


By trusting in the supernatural rather than God's truth, people become more susceptible to mental disturbances. The Bible teaches that turning away from God leads to chaos in both mind and spirit. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” Spiritism, by contrast, erodes mental clarity, promoting instability and fear.

FALSE PROPHETS ARE A HINDRANCE TO THE RULE OF LAW AND DEMOCRACY

  False prophets can erode the rule of law essential for democracy to thrive. Democracy is built on justice, truth, and accountability, yet false prophets manipulate truth for personal gain, leading to societal decay. In the Bible, Jesus warns of false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing but are inwardly ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15). These individuals undermine integrity and trust, which are foundational for a fair and just society.

  A former governor of the central bank of Nigeria and Emir of Kano spoke of their frustration in bringing a senior bank official guilty of stealing over a hundred billion naira of depositor's funds to book because of the interference of an influential clergyman . The existence of such preachers is the main reason behind the increase in corruption and failure of democracy in Nigeria, the bible says  Ecclesiastes 8:11

 "Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully

 set in them to do evil." 

  The bible says prophesy God's judgement against such corrupt preachers  (Ezekiel 13) 

   The  bible speaks of murderers roaming free because of ecclesiastical influence ( Ezekiel 13:19, 22)


   In a democratic society, laws exist to protect rights and maintain order, but when people in positions of power, or those who claim divine authority, distort the truth, it weakens these structures. Proverbs 29:12 states, “If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked.” This shows how deception from false leaders can trickle down, creating a corrupt system that destroys justice.


Furthermore, Isaiah 5:20 warns, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil." False prophets lead people astray by twisting morality, fostering division, and creating instability, which weakens the democratic process. For democracy to succeed, leaders must uphold truth and justice, ensuring laws are administered fairly. False prophets jeopardize this balance, threatening the very foundation of freedom and equality in society.

DELIVERANCE OF A NATION FROM THE STRONGHOLDS OF FALSE PROPHETS

   Deuteronomy 23:4-5: "For they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you. But the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loved you."

    The deliverance of a nation from the strongholds of false prophets is a powerful act of God, often initiated through His discernment and intervention. False prophets, like Balaam, aim to deceive and lead God's people astray, but God’s sovereignty prevails. In Numbers 22-24, Balaam, though initially presented as a prophet, was driven by greed and sought to curse Israel at the behest of King Balak. Yet, God intervened, turning the intended curses into blessings. This illustrates that no weapon formed against God's people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).


False prophets, like Balaam, often speak with hidden agendas, leading nations into idolatry, immorality, and rebellion against God. However, 2 Peter 2:15 warns against following in Balaam’s footsteps, "who loved the wages of wickedness."  They are the ones involved in the money laundering of the stolen resources of God's people by thriving politicians and corrupt businessmen .   

    Deliverance begins with repentance, returning to God’s Word, and rejecting falsehood.


   God raises true prophets to expose and counteract the deception. In the case of Balaam, God used an angel and even a donkey to reveal His truth (Numbers 22:31-34), showing that divine intervention thwarts false prophecy. As nations seek God earnestly, He promises deliverance: “If my people... will humble themselves... I will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).


Jude warns believers about people who, like Balaam, pursue personal gain at the expense of righteousness.


Jude 1:11: "Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion."

TRUE HAPPINESS IS A GIFT FROM GOD

    Psalms 16:11

" Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

     Joy does not come from the attainment of a social status or possessing of treasures . All of these are liabilities that increases our dependency on others for security. For instance, you may not need body guards to move around but will do it if you attain certain heights in society. This increases your dependency on the body guards for survival which is a burden . Acquiring certain amount of riches makes you vulnerable to attacks. Nothing guarantees joy . The scripture says in Ecclesiastes 2:26

" For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. At death we live all our worldly possession to persons who did not labour for them . 

True happiness is a gift from God, rooted in a deep relationship with Him. Romans 15:13 tells us that God fills us with joy and peace when we trust in Him, allowing us to overflow with hope through the Holy Spirit. This joy is a fruit of the Spirit, as described in Galatians 5:22, and it grows within us as we walk in alignment with God’s will.


   True joy and happiness come from being in fellowship with the Lord and His Word. In Jeremiah 15:16, the prophet says, "Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart." When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, we find delight in God's promises and truths. Similarly, Acts 2:28 reminds us that God shows us the path of life, filling us with gladness in His presence.


Joy is more than an emotion; it is a place we access in the heart of the Lord through obedience. Matthew 25:21 speaks of the joy that awaits those who faithfully serve, "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." Preaching the gospel daily brings us closer to God's heart, where true happiness resides.

EMOTIONALISM IS NOT SPIRITUALITY

Romans 8:6 "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.'

Emotionalism and biblical spirituality are often confused, but they are fundamentally different. Emotionalism is the natural human response to spiritual matters, driven by feelings and external expressions, rather than by the Spirit of God. This approach may appear spiritual, but it lacks the depth and discernment that true spirituality offers. It is like hugging or kissing yourself and wondering why you don't feel loved and warm.


According to 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, biblical spirituality is rooted in receiving and understanding the things of God through His Spirit. The passage states that the natural person cannot accept the things of the Spirit because they are spiritually discerned. Emotionalism relies on human senses and reactions, which can cloud true understanding of God's Word.


In contrast, biblical spirituality involves a deeper, Spirit-led comprehension. Jesus emphasizes this in John 6:63, where He says, "The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life." The flesh is powerless to produce spiritual truth, as John 3:6 says, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit."


Moreover, Matthew 16:17 highlights that spiritual revelation comes only from God. Peter’s confession of Christ’s divinity was not revealed by flesh and blood but by the Father, affirming that spiritual insight transcends emotional responses.
