DELIVERANCE OF A NATION FROM THE STRONGHOLDS OF FALSE PROPHETS

The curse shall be turned into a blessing because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:

DELIVERANCE OF A NATION FROM THE STRONGHOLDS OF FALSE PROPHETS

By Michael Benson Ajayi

Deuteronomy 23:4-5: "For they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you. But the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loved you."

The deliverance of a nation from the strongholds of false prophets is a powerful act of God, often initiated through His discernment and intervention. False prophets, like Balaam, aim to deceive and lead God's people astray, but God’s sovereignty prevails. In Numbers 22-24, Balaam, though initially presented as a prophet, was driven by greed and sought to curse Israel at the behest of King Balak. Yet, God intervened, turning the intended curses into blessings. This illustrates that no weapon formed against God's people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

False prophets, like Balaam, often speak with hidden agendas, leading nations into idolatry, immorality, and rebellion against God. However, 2 Peter 2:15 warns against following in Balaam’s footsteps, "who loved the wages of wickedness."  They are the ones involved in the money laundering of the stolen resources of God's people by thriving politicians and corrupt businessmen .

Deliverance begins with repentance, returning to God’s Word, and rejecting falsehood.

God raises true prophets to expose and counteract the deception. In the case of Balaam, God used an angel and even a donkey to reveal His truth (Numbers 22:31-34), showing that divine intervention thwarts false prophecy. As nations seek God earnestly, He promises deliverance: “If my people... will humble themselves... I will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Jude warns believers about people who, like Balaam, pursue personal gain at the expense of righteousness.

Jude 1:11: "Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion."

In our daily prayers seek that the lord raise more teachers of Righteousness bold enough to expose the criminality of false prophets and for a healthy appetite for God's word.

PRAYER : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome evil
