TRUE HAPPINESS IS A GIFT FROM GOD

Your family shall be far from the destroyer because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:

TRUE HAPPINESS IS A GIFT FROM GOD

By Rev Michael.  Benson Ajayi

    Psalms 16:11

" Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

Joy does not come from the attainment of a social status or possessing of treasures . All of these are liabilities that increases our dependency on others for security. For instance, you may not need body guards to move around but will do it if you attain certain heights in society. This increases your dependency on the body guards for survival which is a burden . Acquiring certain amount of riches makes you vulnerable to attacks. Nothing guarantees joy . The scripture says in Ecclesiastes 2:26

" For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. At death we live all our worldly possession to persons who did not labour for them .

True happiness is a gift from God, rooted in a deep relationship with Him. Romans 15:13 tells us that God fills us with joy and peace when we trust in Him, allowing us to overflow with hope through the Holy Spirit. This joy is a fruit of the Spirit, as described in Galatians 5:22, and it grows within us as we walk in alignment with God’s will.

True joy and happiness come from being in fellowship with the Lord and His Word. In Jeremiah 15:16, the prophet says, "Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart." When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, we find delight in God's promises and truths. Similarly, Acts 2:28 reminds us that God shows us the path of life, filling us with gladness in His presence.

Joy is more than an emotion; it is a place we access in the heart of the Lord through obedience. Matthew 25:21 speaks of the joy that awaits those who faithfully serve, "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." Preaching the gospel daily brings us closer to God's heart, where true happiness resides.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and joy everlasting.
