BY ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS  FOREVER

    Hebrews 10:12 declares, “But when Christ had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God.” This verse affirms that Jesus' sacrifice was final and sufficient, unlike the repeated sacrifices under the Old Covenant, which could never make a person perfect before God.

   Under the Old Testament system, offerings had to be made continuously because they could not truly remove sin (Hebrews 10:1-4). This idea  is what is behind religious pilgrimages, fastings and offerings .  However, Jesus’ sacrifice accomplished what the Law could not—perfecting believers forever. Hebrews 10:18 states, “Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.” This means that once Christ secured forgiveness, no further sacrifices were necessary.    

   False teachers exploit people by demanding all kinds of offerings, but true righteousness comes only through Christ’s atonement.

This fulfillment aligns with God’s promise of the New Covenant: “I will put My laws upon their hearts, and write them on their minds” (Hebrews 10:16-17). Through the Holy Spirit, believers are transformed inwardly, not by external rituals. Psalm 32:1-2 reinforces this, proclaiming, “Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” This righteousness is entirely vicarious—Christ’s righteousness is credited to believers.

Jesus’ words to the repentant thief on the cross illustrate this truth: “Today you shall be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43). The thief performed no religious acts, yet by faith alone, he was made righteous. Because of Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice, no further offerings are needed—only faith in Him.

 In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and resistance against indoctrination.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome stagnation.
