Good -Life Devotional: WE ARE CHILDREN OF THE PROPHETS AND THE NEW COVENANT

   In Acts 3:25, Peter reminds the Jews, “You are the sons of the prophets and heirs of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’” This verse declares that all who believe in Christ are partakers of God’s covenant blessings, not just a select few.( Romans 2;29)

   Under the New Covenant, there is no hierarchy of spiritual inheritance. Hebrews 12:24 tells us that Jesus is “the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of mercy”—His blood equally forgives all who believe. No person is more privileged in Christ than another; we are all equally redeemed and justified (Galatians 3:28).

    Yet, false preachers claim some individuals are “more blessed” by virtue of being their spiritual “sons.” This contradicts Scripture. The apostle Paul affirms in 2 Corinthians 4:13, “We have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed, therefore I spoke.’” The faith of the prophets, including David, is the same faith we possess in Christ.

   Moreover, Romans 8:17 says, “If we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.” Every believer is an heir, not just a select few. The New Covenant is eternal (Hebrews 13:20), ensuring that no one has a greater claim to God’s blessings than another. In Christ, we are one body, equally loved and equally blessed (Ephesians 4:4-6). Let no man deceive you otherwise.

  In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and love and unity in the church .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to preach the gospel.
