CHRISTIANS SHALL BE WRONGLY KILLED BY RELIGIOUS EXTREMISTS AS A DEVOTION TO GOD

You shall not fall into the enemy's trap because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional:

CHRISTIANS SHALL BE WRONGLY KILLED BY RELIGIOUS EXTREMISTS  AS A DEVOTION TO GOD

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Qur’an 9:29

“Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day, and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful, and who do not acknowledge the religion of truth — among those who were given the Scripture — until they pay the jizyah with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.”

  Jihadists have us

ed this verse of the Qur'an to justify killing of Christians and Jews even when prophet Mohammad spoke against conversion by compulsion Qur’an 2:256 “There is no compulsion in religion; for the right way stands clearly distinguished from the wrong.”

Jesus warned His followers of persecution in Matthew 24:9 (AMP), saying, “Then they will hand you over to endure tribulation, and will put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.” This prophecy has unfolded throughout history, as many have been wrongly killed by religious extremists who believe they are serving their gods. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, was stoned to death by religious zealots who thought they were defending Moses’ law (Acts 7:57–60). Yet, even as stones crushed his body, Stephen’s spirit ascended to Christ—proving that death cannot silence the truth.

However, God’s will is not for Christians to die prematurely but to “live and declare the works of the Lord” (Psalm 118:17). Believers are called to impact the world with the gospel, demonstrating love even to their persecutors. Jesus Himself said, “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves” (Matthew 10:16), preparing His disciples for hostility, yet commanding them to remain fearless.

We must not fear those who can kill the body but cannot touch the soul (Matthew 10:28). Our true life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). Death for the believer is not defeat but transition into glory. Therefore, Christians must stand firm, knowing that even in persecution, God’s purpose prevails, and their witness speaks louder than the weapons of their enemies.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and protection of the church against religious  extremists

PRAYER Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome terror .
