Good -Life Devotional: CONSEQUENCES FOR THE KILLING OF THE INNOCENT INCLUDING BABIES IN THE WOMB .( PART 1)
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Here are biblical consequences for killing the innocent — showing that God’s judgment is severe on those who shed innocent blood. Each point is backed by Scripture (Amplified Bible references):
1. GOD WILL NOT ACQUIT THE GUILTY.
Exodus 23:7 — “Do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not justify the guilty.”
2. A CURSE FALLS UPON THE MURDERER.
Deuteronomy 27:25 — “Cursed is he who accepts a bribe to strike down an innocent person.”
3. THE LAND BECOMES DEFILED.
Numbers 35:33 — “Blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land except by the blood of him who shed it.”
4. GOD HIDES HIS FACE FROM THE NATION.
Isaiah 59:2–3 — “Your hands are defiled with blood… so that He will not hear.”
5. NATIONAL JUDGMENT FOLLOWS.
2 Kings 24:4 — Because of innocent blood shed by Manasseh, “the Lord would not forgive.”
6. THE CRY OF BLOOD REACHES HEAVEN.
Genesis 4:10 — “The voice of your brother’s blood cries to Me from the ground.”
7. THE KILLER’S OWN BLOOD IS REQUIRED.
Genesis 9:6 — “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed.”
8. THE GUILTY LOSE PEACE.
Isaiah 48:22 — “There is no peace… for the wicked.”
9. GOD’S WRATH IS PROVOKED.
Psalm 106:38–40 — Innocent bloodshed caused the Lord’s anger to burn against His people.
10. THE MURDERER BECOMES ACCURSED.
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and deliberance from blood guilt, Psalms 51:14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome blood guilt.
