Man is created in God's image and human life is sacred . We shall account for our lives and those wasted by our actions or inactions .
Bloodguilt is a burden persons who have taken human lives unjustly carry for the rest of their lives
Proverbs 28:17 — “A man who is burdened with the guilt of human blood will be a fugitive till death.”
Here are more scriptural consequences of taken human life
11. THE NATION EXPERIENCES RUIN.
Hosea 4:2–3 — “Bloodshed follows bloodshed; therefore the land mourns.”
12. GOD WITHDRAWS HIS PROTECTION.
Lamentations 4:13–14 — “Because of the sins of her prophets… who shed the blood of the righteous.”
13. THE INNOCENT’S BLOOD TESTIFIES AGAINST THE GUILTY.
Matthew 23:35 — Jesus said all righteous blood, from Abel to Zechariah, would come upon that generation.
14. DIVINE VENGEANCE IS CERTAIN.
Revelation 6:10 — The martyrs cry, “How long, O Lord… will You not avenge our blood?”
15. THE SINNER’S DESCENDANTS SUFFER LOSS.
2 Samuel 21:1 — Saul’s blood guilt caused famine in David’s time. Poverty haunts the family of the guilty.
16. THEIR PRAYERS ARE REJECTED.
Isaiah 1:15 — “Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.”
17. THEY BECOME HUNTED BY JUSTICE.
Genesis 4:12 — Cain became “a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”
18. GOD REMOVES MERCY.
Jeremiah 7:6–7 — If you shed innocent blood, God will not cause you to dwell in the land.
19. THE KILLER’S END IS DESTRUCTION.
Psalm 55:23 — “Bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half their days.”
20. ETERNAL PUNISHMENT AWAITS UNREPENTANT MURDERERS.
Revelation 21:8 — “Murderers… will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.”
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and deliverance from bloodguilt.
PRAYERS: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ as my lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome bloodguilt.
