The yoke of poverty is broken because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional:
FAITHFUL IN THE LITTLE
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Faithfulness in small matters is a defining principle in God’s Kingdom. Scripture consistently reveals that God entrusts greater responsibilities only to those who have proven faithful with what they already possess. Jesus stated plainly in Luke 16:10–12, “He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much… If you have not been faithful in the use of worldly wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?” This establishes a spiritual law: increase follows integrity.
The Macedonian church stands as a powerful biblical example of being faithful in the little. In 2 Corinthians 8:1–5, Paul testifies that despite their “deep poverty,” they overflowed in generosity. Their giving was not driven by abundance but by unwavering faith in God and deep commitment to the servants of God for the advancement of the gospel. They first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to His work. Their material lack did not diminish their spiritual devotion.
This teaches an important lesson: faithfulness is not measured by quantity but by obedience and sacrifice. Those who seek increase without corresponding faithfulness risk corruption. Proverbs 20:21 warns, “An inheritance gained hastily in the beginning will not be blessed in the end.” Likewise, Matthew 25:21 affirms that those faithful over a few things are made rulers over many.
God watches how believers handle time, resources, assignments, and relationships. Colossians 3:23 exhorts Christians to work heartily as unto the Lord, not men. When believers honor God in the little, He entrusts them with much. Faithfulness today is preparation for tomorrow’s increase.
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and faithfulness in that which is committed to us .
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to be faithful.
