PARSIMONY : SATAN'S ENDTIME STRATEGY TO DESTROY THE CHURCH

Doors are being opened for you in high places because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: *PARSIMONY: SATAN'S ENDTIME STRATEGY TO DESTROY THE CHURCH*

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Isaiah 5:13-14 "Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.'

This ministry was once engaged in feeding street children once a day and clothing them and helping them return back to their families . We gave legal aid to persons in prison and saw the release of some innocent ones. We made provisions for widows , helped persons through skill acquisition all in a bid to promote the preaching of the gospel of God's kingdom . Our activities were however, hampered through the pasimonious behaviour of some persons. This was what aggravated Apostle Peter's anger against Ananias and Sapphira ( Read Acts 5:1-11) unfortunately, there are many of such persons in the church today. Research has shown that the highest spenders on pornography and gambling are Christians and you wonder why there is an increase in the sin despite the proliferation of church buildings.

Parsimony, often associated with extreme unwillingness to spend resources, can be viewed as a spiritual malady that Satan uses to undermine the Church in the end times. This destructive strategy aims to erode generosity and hinder the effective spread of the Gospel.

Isaiah 5:13-14 says Satan will use Parsimony to send many persons to hell fire . The more preachers are deprived of resources the more they are limited and exhausted in the promotion of the gospel resulting in an increase in demonic activities.

The bible illustrates the importance of generosity through Jesus’ teaching In Mark 12:41-44, Jesus praises a poor widow who gives all she has, contrasting her with the wealthy who give out of their abundance. This act of sacrificial giving highlights the spiritual principle that true generosity stems from the heart, not the surplus. By fostering parsimony, Satan aims to create a culture of stinginess that stifles the Church’s mission and outreach.

Apostle Paul, in his letters, emphasizes the necessity of generous giving for the flourishing of the Christian community. In 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Paul writes, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." Paul’s teaching underscores that generosity is integral to the Christian life and the health of the Church.

Through parsimony, Satan seeks to weaken the Church’s influence and impede its growth.  By emulating the generosity modeled by Jesus and taught by Paul, believers can resist this insidious strategy and ensure the Church remains a vibrant, giving community.

Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to promote the preaching of the gospel.
