YOUR FRIENDS AFFECT YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Luke 7:6 "Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:'

  The impact of friends on spiritual growth is profound, often shaping beliefs, practices, and character. The Bible highlights the significance of companionship in fostering spiritual development. Proverbs 27:17 says 'Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend" . this scripture emphasizes how friends sharpen each other, suggesting that meaningful relationships contribute to personal growth. This mutual encouragement and accountability can lead to deeper understanding and connection with one's faith.

   Friendship with those who share similar values can provide a supportive environment for spiritual exploration and growth. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 underscores the strength in companionship, stating that two are better than one, for they can help each other in times of need. You need a prayer partner who is filled with God's word and the Holy Spirit that you can safely confide in. Life is too dangerous to be alone . Regularly take the holy communion with your prayer partner for strength .

   Conversely, negative influences can hinder spiritual progress. 1 Corinthians 15:33 warns, "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company ruins good morals.'" Surrounding oneself with those who do not prioritize spiritual values may lead to moral compromise and hinder spiritual advancement.

   Ultimately, the impact of friends on spiritual growth underscores the importance of intentional relationships. Choosing companions who uplift, challenge, and support one another can foster a deeper connection with faith and lead to personal transformation.

Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power for effective prayer . Amen
