THE MURMURING SPOUSE VERSUS THE PRAYERFUL SPOUSE 

  Proverbs 21:19 "It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.'

  An effective prayer life rooted in a deep understanding of the scriptures makes a woman calm and peaceful. Such a woman is extremely powerful and revered by her husband and others because of her testimonies. The murmuring spouse is weak in the arena of prayers and understanding of scriptures . Many have lost their marriages as a result of this . They are a health risk to their spouses . Proverbs 21;19 says such a person should be avoided failure to do so could result in health crisis even death .

The prayerful spouse is a profound pillar in any marriage, offering spiritual support and wisdom. Two notable biblical figures exemplify this role: Moses's wife, Zipporah, and Abigail.

  Zipporah demonstrated her spiritual insight and protective nature in Exodus 4:24-26. When God sought to kill Moses due to their son's uncircumcision, Zipporah quickly intervened by circumcising her son and touching Moses' feet with the foreskin, saying, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me." Her swift action saved Moses and underscored the importance of spiritual obedience within the family.

   Abigail, the wife of Nabal, displayed exceptional discernment and peacemaking skills. In 1 Samuel 25, when Nabal insulted David, Abigail acted swiftly to avert disaster. She brought provisions to David and humbly pleaded for her husband's life, saying, "Please forgive your servant's presumption. The Lord your God will certainly make a lasting dynasty for my lord, because you fight the Lord’s battles" (1 Samuel 25:28). Her wisdom and intercession not only protected her household but also led to her becoming David's wife after Nabal's death.

   Both women highlight the virtues of a prayerful spouse: spiritual vigilance, wisdom, and the ability to intercede effectively for their families. Through prayer and discernment, they provide a steadfast foundation for their households, mirroring God's love and protection.

  Ask the lord to help you develop an effective prayer life and desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues and set aside quality time daily for prayers . 

 Prayer : Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power for effective prayer. Amen
