THE PRAYING WIFE (1)

Those who mocked you shall be overwhelmed  by your breakthroughs because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

THE PRAYING WIFE (1)

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

A praying wife is wise , peaceful and is a gift to her husband, her home, and the generations to come. In Scripture, we see how God honors the intercession of women who stand in the gap.

When Moses’ life was in danger because he had neglected God’s covenant command, his wife Zipporah quickly interceded through decisive action (Exodus 4:24–26). Though her role was not glamorous, her obedience preserved Moses’ life and destiny. In her, we see the picture of a wife whose sensitivity to God saved her household from judgment.

Hannah, too, shows us the power of a praying woman (1 Samuel 1:9–20). Though barren and provoked, she did not retaliate in anger or despair. Instead, she poured out her soul before the Lord. Her prayer not only opened her womb but also birthed Samuel, a prophet who changed Israel’s history. Hannah reminds us that a wife’s prayer can unlock divine purposes far beyond her personal struggles.

Scripture calls wives to be “women of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight” (1 Peter 3:4 AMP). This quiet strength is expressed most powerfully in prayer. A praying wife covers her husband in times of weakness, intercedes for her children’s destiny, and preserves her household against the attacks of the enemy.

Dear sister, God has positioned you as a watchwoman over your home. Like Zipporah and Hannah, your prayers can preserve, heal, and birth God’s purposes.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power for deliverance prayers. Lord, teach me to be a faithful praying wife, standing in the gap for my family. Let my prayers preserve life, open doors, and release Your will in my home, in Jesus’ name.
