Good -Life Devotional: THE THREE COMPONENTS OF THE GOSPEL

 Matthew 5:6

" Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. '

  The church will only be fulfilled when righteousness becomes the centrepiece of it's pursuits. We have noticed an upsurge in the dishonouring of preachers, this is as a result of their downplaying on teachings on righteousness. 

   The Gospel is beautifully summarized in Romans 14:17: “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” These three components are foundational to the believer’s life and walk with God.

RIGHTEOUSNESS

   Righteousness, the first component, is a state of being made right with God through faith in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). Matthew 6:33 instructs us to “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” King David exemplified this pursuit of righteousness in Psalm 35:28, where he declared, “And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long.” His daily proclamation of God's righteousness was key to his spiritual and material prosperity. Moreover, Proverbs 14:34 affirms, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

PEACE

God’s peace surpasses all understanding and guards our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7). This peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of harmony with God, others, and ourselves. Isaiah 26:3 promises, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in You.”

JOY

Joy in the Holy Spirit is the evidence of God's presence (Psalm 16:11). Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”

    True prosperity is incomplete without righteousness. As believers, we are called to walk in these Gospel truths, knowing God will provide for every need (Philippians 4:19).

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and prevailence of righteousness in our country.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to project your righteousness.
