Good -Life Devotional:

THE WORD OF GOD: TRIED AND TRUE

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

The Word of God in the Bible is not merely text on a page; it is alive, powerful, and tested through generations. The Psalmist declares, “The words and promises of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times” (Psalm 12:6, AMP). This purification process signifies perfection, reliability, and trustworthiness.

Throughout history, the Word of God has proven true in countless lives. From Abraham's faith in God's promise (Genesis 15:6) to the unwavering confidence of Jesus in His Father's Word (Matthew 4:4), it has withstood every test and trial. Proverbs 30:5 reminds us, “Every word of God is tested and refined [like silver]; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him” (AMP).

This Word is not just for ancient times; it invites us to experience its truth today. Psalm 34:8 issues a warm invitation: “O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! How blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who takes refuge in Him” (AMP). To “taste” is to experience, and the Word encourages us to draw near, trust God’s promises, and witness His faithfulness.

You are invited to test the Word of God for yourself. Open your heart, meditate on His promises, and see how He transforms your life. Will you accept this invitation to taste and see that He is good?

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and courage to put the word to test in every situation we find ourselves.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome stagnation.
