Good -Life Devotional: HOW TO GUARD YOUR HEART AGAINST EVIL INFLUENCE ( PART 1)

   Romans 12:2

" And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Your heart is the vehicle that translates the blessings of the lord from the spiritual into the physical . The emotional and  physical state of your life is a reflection of the state of your heart. It is easier to see the power of God at work in our lives when our hearts are pure .  The devil attacks us by planting evil thoughts in our hearts by our permission. Once a thought is planted, the outcome is inevitable whether  good or evil. 

    Here are some ways to guard your heart against negative influences, with supporting Bible verses from the Amplified Bible (AMP):

1. FILL YOUR HEART WITH GOD’S WORD

Meditate on Scripture to strengthen your mind and spirit against negativity.

“Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart, that I may not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11 AMP)

2. PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

Stay connected to God through prayer for guidance and protection.

“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your specific requests known to God.” (Philippians 4:6 AMP)

3. GUARD YOUR THOUGHTS

FOCUS ON POSITIVE AND GODLY THOUGHTS TO COUNTER NEGATIVITY.

“Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word...think continually on these things.” (Philippians 4:8 AMP)

4. CHOOSE YOUR ASSOCIATIONS WISELY

Surround yourself with uplifting and Christ-centered relationships.

“Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company corrupts good morals.’” (1 Corinthians 15:33 AMP)

5. AVOID TEMPTING SITUATIONS

Stay away from environments that encourage ungodly behavior. Block friends that send porn to you, delete the videos and unsubscribe from porn sites if you are struggling with the negative influence of porn. 

“Turn my eyes away from vanity [all those worldly, meaningless things that distract—let Your priorities be mine], and restore me with renewed energy in Your ways.” (Psalm 119:37 AMP)

 In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and protection from bad influence.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome poverty and stagnation.
