CONFRONTING SIN WITH THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL

The satanic verdict against your family shall be overturned because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional:  CONFRONTING SIN WITH THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
The gospel of Jesus Christ is not merely a message of comfort; it is also a call to confront sin and proclaim truth without fear. Throughout Scripture, God raises servants who boldly declare His truth even when society resists it. The prophet Jonah was sent to confront the wickedness of Nineveh. Though reluctant at first, he ultimately proclaimed God’s warning: “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown” (Jonah 3:4). His message was direct and confrontational, yet it led to repentance and mercy.
Jesus Himself demonstrated this fearless proclamation. In Matthew 23, He openly rebuked the hypocrisy of the religious leaders, calling them “blind guides” and warning them of judgment. Christ showed that truth must sometimes be spoken sharply to expose corruption and spiritual deception.
Scripture commands believers to speak out against injustice. Proverbs 31:8–9 (AMP) says, “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are unfortunate… defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Silence in the face of evil allows corruption to flourish. Isaiah 56:10 warns about watchmen who are “mute dogs that cannot bark,” describing leaders who fail to warn people of danger. When Christians remain silent about sin, society becomes vulnerable to moral decay.
God calls His people to be courageous witnesses. Ephesians 5:11 instructs believers to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” The gospel confronts evil because truth liberates people from deception and destruction.
Christians must therefore speak the truth with boldness and love. When the church faithfully proclaims righteousness, it becomes a prophetic voice that calls individuals and nations back to God.
PRAYER: Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and boldness to preach the gospel.
Lord God, give Your church boldness to speak the truth of the gospel without fear. Remove every spirit of silence and compromise. Help us defend the oppressed, expose evil, and proclaim righteousness in our generation. Fill us with wisdom, courage, and love so that our words bring repentance and restoration. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
