THE SPIRITUAL DANGER OF SUPPORTING EVIL (part 1)

You are marked for extraordinary promotion because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good-Life Devotional : THE SPIRITUAL DANGER OF SUPPORTING EVIL (part 1)

Romans 1:28–32 (AMP) describes a frightening moral decline. The apostle Paul explains that when people reject God, He gives them over to a depraved mind—a conscience no longer guided by truth. The passage lists destructive behaviors in Romans 1:29–31, warning that those who persist in such lifestyles—and those who approve of them—stand under God’s judgment.

Key words from Romans 1:29–31 (English dictionary meanings):

Unrighteousness – behavior that is morally wrong or unjust.

Wickedness – deliberate evil or immoral conduct.

Greed (Covetousness) – an intense, selfish desire for wealth or possessions.

Malice – the intention or desire to harm others.

Envy – resentment toward another’s success or blessings.

Murder – the unlawful killing of another person.

Strife – bitter conflict or rivalry.

Deceit – the act of misleading or lying.

Malignity – deep-seated hatred and cruelty.

Gossip (Whisperers) – spreading harmful or secret criticism about others.

Slanderers – those who falsely damage another person’s reputation.

God-haters – people who openly oppose God and His ways.

Insolent – arrogant and aggressively disrespectful.

Proud – having an exaggerated sense of self-importance.

Boastful – bragging about achievements or power.

Inventors of evil – people who creatively design new ways to do wrong.

Disobedient to parents – rejecting rightful authority.

Without understanding – morally foolish or lacking discernment.

Untrustworthy – breaking agreements or promises.

Unloving – lacking natural human affection.

Unmerciful – refusing compassion or forgiveness.

Paul concludes with a serious warning: “Although they know God’s righteous decree… they not only do these things but also approve of those who practice them” (Romans 1:32). Supporting corrupt leadership, celebrating injustice, or defending wicked systems is spiritually dangerous. It aligns the heart with evil.

Jesus asked in Mark 8:36, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and lose his soul?” Wealth, political access, and temporary influence cannot compare with eternal life.

Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Supporting corruption may bring temporary benefit, but it invites divine accountability.

PRAYER

Heavenly father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to live in righteousness. Righteous Father, give us discernment to reject evil and stand for truth. Remove every temptation to support corruption for personal gain. Purify our hearts so we love righteousness and hate wickedness. Guard our souls from compromise and help us walk in integrity before You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
