Your tears of sorrow shall be turned in to tears of joy because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional: FLEE YOUTHFUL LUSTS AND PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Christian victory requires more than resisting sin; it requires replacing sinful desires with godly pursuits. Paul instructed Timothy to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. Youthful lusts include sexual immorality, pride, greed, uncontrolled anger, and selfish ambition. These desires can hinder spiritual growth and make believers unfit for the Master's use.
FLEE YOUTHFUL LUSTS. Paul says, “Flee also youthful lusts” (2 Timothy 2:22). Like Joseph, who fled from sexual temptation (Genesis 39:12), believers must avoid situations that encourage sin. First Corinthians 6:18 commands us to flee sexual immorality.
PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS AND FAITH. Jesus commands us to seek first God's kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6) and enables us to trust His promises and obey His Word.
+Maintain daily prayer and Bible study.
+Avoid compromising relationships and environments.
+Seek accountability from mature believers.
+Pursue relationships that strengthen your walk with Christ.
REFLECTION
What sinful desires must you flee, and what godly qualities will you pursue today? Are your relationships helping you grow in holiness?
A vessel of honour avoids sin and actively pursues righteousness, faith, love, and peace, becoming useful to the Master.
PRAYER. Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive Him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome sin.
Heavenly Father, help me flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. Strengthen me to resist temptation, choose godly companions, and live a holy life that glorifies Christ. Make me a vessel of honour, prepared for every good work. In Jesus' name, Amen.
