Good -Life Devotional: THE LORD WILL DELIVER THE POOR OUT OF ALL HIS TROUBLES
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Text: Psalm 34:6; Proverbs 30:5
“This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” — Psalm 34:6 (KJV)
The Lord is attentive to the cries of the humble, the helpless, and those who put their trust in Him. David testified that when he cried to the Lord in distress, God heard him and delivered him. His experience teaches us that no trouble is too great for God to handle, and no sincere cry of faith escapes His attention.
Being poor in this context includes recognizing our helplessness and dependence on God. Instead of trusting in human strength, connections, or possessions, we must humbly seek His intervention. Psalm 34:4 declares, “I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” God listens to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Proverbs 30:5 assures us that every word of God is pure and that He is a shield to those who trust in Him. His Word is reliable, His promises are trustworthy, and His protection is sufficient. Psalm 34:7 further reveals that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them.
Therefore, do not allow poverty, oppression, injustice, or personal difficulties to destroy your confidence in God. His deliverance may come through divine intervention, wisdom, provision, or the help of others. Continue praying, obeying His Word, and trusting His faithfulness.
PRACTICAL FAITH APPLICATIONS:
+Cry to God sincerely in times of trouble.
+Trust His promises rather than surrendering to fear.
+Remain humble and obedient while awaiting His intervention.
+Extend compassion to the poor and oppressed.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as Lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome poverty. Father, thank You for hearing my cry. Be my shield, deliver me from my troubles, and strengthen my faith in Your unfailing Word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
