THE LORD HAS REMOVED THE DEFENCE OF THE REBEL

Your family is under the covenant of divine preservation because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional:
THE LORD HAS REMOVED THE DEFENCE OF THE REBEL

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
Scripture clearly teaches that God Himself is the ultimate defence and shield of His people. Numbers 14:9 (AMP) declares, “Their protection has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us.” When a person walks in obedience, the covering of God rests upon them; but when they rebel, that divine shield is lifted.
Psalm 47:9 reminds us that “the shields of the earth belong to God.” Defence, security, and preservation do not come from human intelligence, political structures, or physical strength. They come from the Lord, who assigns protection according to His purpose. He preserves men and women for assignments aligned with His will, but rebellion uproots them from this covering.
Job 22:25 calls the Lord “your defence”, and David frequently acknowledged God as his only shield in the face of danger (Psalm 7:10; Psalm 59:9,16). No weapon formed against the obedient believer can prosper (Isaiah 54:17), but the one who rejects God’s order invites vulnerability.
A believer who rebels against spiritual authority—authority God Himself has set (Romans 13:1; Hebrews 13:17)—steps outside the circle of divine protection. Paul warns in 1 Corinthians 10:10 that rebellion exposes a person to destruction, for God’s angels are not assigned to defend the rebellious (Psalm 91:11 applies only to those who dwell “in the secret place of the Most High”).
Throughout Scripture, those who hardened their hearts—Saul, Korah, and the Israelites in the wilderness—lost God’s defence because they resisted His will.
Obedience attracts divine protection; rebellion removes it. To remain under God’s shield, the believer must walk humbly, submit to His order, and abide in His will.
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and humility to be understanding divine authority.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to walk in humility.
