The preparation of evil against you shall be scattered because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.
Good -Life Devotional: GOD SCATTERS THE PLANS OF THE PROUD
By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi
The Scripture declares, “He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their hearts” (Luke 1:51 AMP). Pride stands in direct opposition to God’s nature; therefore, He actively resists the proud. James 4:6 reminds us that “God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble.” Many Christians mistakenly interpret certain spiritual hindrances as attacks from the devil, yet some are actually God’s own angels standing in opposition to prideful actions. In Numbers 22:23, the Angel of the Lord resisted Balaam’s reckless self-will, demonstrating that divine resistance is a form of mercy meant to redirect us.
Job 5:12 says, “He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot carry out their plans.” Similarly, Jesus overturned the tables of the proud money changers in Matthew 21:12, showing that arrogance in God’s house invites His direct intervention. Pride breeds fear because it trusts in self rather than God, leaving the soul restless and at risk of missing heaven (Proverbs 16:18).
To avoid divine resistance, believers must yield to the Holy Spirit, who produces meekness and humility. Galatians 6:1 instructs us to restore others “in a spirit of gentleness,” while Ephesians 4:2 calls us to “live as becomes you… with complete humility.” When we humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand (1 Peter 5:6), He not only lifts us up but also ensures that no plan of the enemy can prosper against us (Isaiah 54:17).
In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and the spirit of meekness.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome pride .
