Good -Life Devotional: HE IS FAITHFUL THAT PROMISED

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)” — Hebrews 10:23 (KJV)

The call in Hebrews 10:23 is a powerful encouragement to cling tenaciously to our “profession” of faith. The Greek word translated “profession” is homologia (ὁμολογία), meaning confession, declaration, or acknowledgment—especially of allegiance to Christ. To “hold fast” implies perseverance amid trials. The word “wavering” is aklinēs (ἀκλινής), meaning firm, unmoved, not leaning away. Believers are urged to remain steadfast in faith because God, the one who promised, is faithful.

This truth was powerfully demonstrated in the life of Sarah. Though she was scientifically and biologically past childbearing age, she “received strength to conceive seed… because she judged him faithful who had promised” (Hebrews 11:11). Human limitations cannot hinder divine fulfillment. God’s promises are not based on circumstances but on His unchanging character.

Titus 1:2 declares that God “cannot lie,” and Numbers 23:19 affirms: “God is not a  man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent.” When He speaks, it shall come to pass (Isaiah 55:11). We are thus called to anchor our hope, not in what is seen, but in the immutable promises of God (2 Corinthians 5:7; Romans 4:20-21).

   Let us then hold firm to our confession, refuse to waver in doubt, and trust confidently in the faithful God who always keeps His word. “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

  In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and faith in his word for the miraculous.

PRAYER; Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to overcome depression.
