LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY

Your losses shall be turned into extraordinary recovery because of the anointing of God's favour upon you.

Good -Life Devotional: LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY

By Rev Michael Benson Ajayi

Colossians 3:16–17 (AMP) declares: “Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom... And whatever you do... do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

This profound exhortation not only commands personal devotion but underscores the sufficiency and authority of Christ’s word in the life of the believer.

This verse affirms the Bible’s central role in Christian life and defense of the faith. The "word of Christ" is not merely to be read—it is to dwell richly, shaping how we think, act, and teach others. It empowers believers to correct error, strengthen fellow saints, and remain anchored in truth (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

Furthermore, letting Christ’s word dwell "richly" implies abundance, not superficial engagement. Psalm 119:11 says, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” The word guards us from deception, equips us for every good work, and keeps us in right fellowship with God.

Verse 17 calls believers to do everything in Jesus' name. This supports the apologetic stance that Christian ethics are rooted not in culture but in Christ’s lordship (Romans 12:1–2). True worship and witness arise from a heart filled with the Word and a life lived under His authority.

Therefore, a robust teaching of the gospel begins with Scripture dwelling richly within. Without it, no argument can be enduringly persuasive. Spend quality on God's word on a daily basis.

In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and commitment to thorough research of scriptures .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me of my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and boldness to preach the gospel.
