   In 2 Timothy 2:19–21, the Apostle Paul declares, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” He explains that in a great house, there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay—some for honor, others for dishonor. Only those who cleanse themselves from iniquity will become “vessels of honour, sanctified and useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.” This call is not for passive belief but for active purification.

   Iniquity, as seen in Galatians 5:19–21, includes the works of the flesh: adultery, fornication, hatred, jealousy, drunkenness, and others. Paul warns that “those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Thus, a vessel of honor must be purged from these dead works. Hebrews 9:14 confirms that the blood of Christ “purges our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.”

   A Christian who is truly a vessel of honor promotes a righteous culture wherever they are—be it in family, government, school, or marketplace. Jesus commands in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Titus 2:7–8 urges believers to show “a pattern of good works,” and to live above reproach.

   Therefore, every believer must pursue holiness (Hebrews 12:14), depart from all unrighteousness, and be devoted to building a culture that glorifies Christ. Only such believers are vessels fit for the Master’s use.

  In our daily prayers we should seek a healthy appetite for God's word and a righteous culture in our nation .

PRAYER: Heavenly Father forgive me for my sins against you I believe Jesus Christ died and was raised again for my salvation I receive him as lord and saviour and receive the Holy Spirit and power to live in righteousness.
